As long as you don't go out it is very cheap. No pathetic rip-off prices like in UK, eg Parking, Community Rip-Off Charge. Money is subjective, everyone has their own experience with it. For me, Thailand is not cheap. Japanese soapy 4-6k per hr. Soi 6, 1k lady drinks then 3k bar fine + 4k Lt. Gogo bar is about the same but riskier. Club girls 6-10k LT. mcd regular coffee 100 baht! On the other side, some of your viewers complain that they got "scammed" because a bar girl asked for 10-20k at the end of a multi-day or even weeks of companionship.
@expatlifestyle20005 ай бұрын
At those prices you must be Korean.
@starlover1235 ай бұрын
@@Rodderz1 how do you bargain with spa, gogo bar, and soi 6 mamasan? Personally, I don't bargain with girls, I just move on to a new girl if she asks for more than 5k for LT. 3-4k for LT is very "friendly" nowadays. I have to work a bit to build a good connection first, which means a couple of lady drinks. @Thailand Bound, See, Money and prices are subjective and everyone has their own experience with it.

Got to wonder how a Thai can survive on the daily wage, which is about to go up to a minimum 400 Baht per day. But yeah, an expat or tourist it's very expensive as most probably can not survive on Thai food alone, or Thai accommodation. Still shake my head when people say healthcare is cheap in Thailand, while it's slow but free in my country unless it's urgent or life threatening, then it's no wait. But dentists is where Thailand wins hands down! I will always fly to Thailand just for expensive inplants as you get an implant for a third, the cost of my home country and a great vacation!

I was in Thailand for the first time in February; spent time in Bangkok and Phuket. Yo are absolutely correct; everything depends on the type of lifestyle you want to have. I calculated that if I wanted a nice apartment, car, entertainment, twice weekly, travel and not constantly worry about cost I would need at least $5000 per month which is about 185000 bath, not exactly cheap. Also keep in mind the apartments in Bangkok are very small; I saw 80 square meters at a nice building renting for 80000 bath; for comparison I live in 370 square meter house in Washington so I would have to seriously downsize. So ultimately it comes down to how well you want to live . Peace

While I generally agree with your points - The rent one is missing the point. Sure, there are some facts that the other KZbinrs leave out about the additional costs to getting your own place, but that doesn't matter. Rent in the west is easily 2-10x (depending on the country and city) higher than in Thailand, so even with the things they don't tell you, it's still so much cheaper to rent in Thailand. I'm saying this as a western European who moved to Thailand less than a year ago.

For example , I inquired about a retirement visa from an agency and they quoted me 35000 thb and then 16000 each year following. I think the people who make these videos are just looking for subscribers by appealing to our desire to leave our unsatisfactory lives in the West and retire on next to nothing surrounded by beautiful Thai women catering to our every desire. Wake up and smell the roses, like you say before it's too late.

Apartment size ?? Overheads, electricity, water, medical or med insurance, cost of hospitals if working on cheap Charlie tour. Cost of meals even street food. Drinks per day. Self control is one attribute they don't have. Ability to think laterally to work out how much their life style will cost is another attribute they don't have. Also how long are they prepared to live a boring cheap hamstrung lifestyle?? So much for my whinging on this matter. Love your posts, Pete.
