I love how you acknowledged John and Mike Mew and his work! Thank you for that. I hate how some orthodontists just ridicule him for no reason even though he is on very solid ground with evidence of crooked teeth being predominantly environmental .

We are glad you brought up John and Mike Mew! Not a lot of people are aware of these gentlemen. We completely agree! They have produced some incredible information over the years! Dr. Dhillon actually went to one of their courses a few years ago and got a photo with John! They certainly do have some very solid ground evidence and we've actually mentioned these environmental factors quite a bit in a few of our other videos. We actually made a video that discussed some of the exercises that you can do at home (as you may already be aware) and we focused on quite a few myofunctional exercises that we actually mention to most of our patients when they visit our office! As you may already know by now these causes are truly detrimental to your long-term oral health. Here at our office, we try to help patients focus and work on the underlying causes because even if they get orthodontics and they don't work on these, there may still be some unwanted shifting and long term consequences. We are actually planning on making a video on Orthotropics and have a more detailed explanation from Dr. Dhillon's perspective. Thanks again for watching our videos. It means a lot to us!

Hello. I have a question. I used to have braces (upper teeth) as a kid. Many of my classmates had them, except my teeth were crookier than theirs. I ended up having the braces for 3 years only, while my classmates who didnt have as horribly crooked teeth as I did and they had braces even for 5 years. We had the same doctor. My teeth, despite of their crookedness, got straight extremely fast ! After the braces were put down I got a retainer to wear at night. I lost it a couple years after, when I travelled a lot. Now I'm an adult, but my teeth are crooked again ! I miss my straight teeth. I was thinking about getting INVISALGIN, but I heard its not suitable for everyone. Is it okay/safe to get another (any kind of) teeth straightener for 2nd time? Do you think I will be suitable for invisalgin? (I got to travel to a different city to get invisalgin, I dont wanna return home sad and make my visit pointless). Are dentist visits as often needed as with regular braces? (I cannot afford the time to travel each month to a different city) My teeth didnt get back as much crooked as they were prior to getting braces as a kid, but its still visibly not straight. I do not have wisdom teeth yet.

@introverteee 3 жыл бұрын
hi! I'm not an expert but i believe Invisalign would work for you! it honestly depends on how long you are willing to wear them though. Invisalign usually takes longer to fully straighten your teeth, while braces are a bit quicker. if your teeth aren't too crooked, maybe some teeth shifted a bit but they are still in a curvature then You should probably get Invisalign

Great video. It's good to see a dentist on board with myofunctional approaches. Much better than the nonsense that your dad had big teeth and your mom had a small jaw. Though there is clearly a genetic component (caucasians seem to have crooked teeth frequently), the changes have happened too quickly for it to be merely down to genetics. I guess I'm lucky, my teeth are only mildly crowded and I have a chin. So many kids and young adults now days don't even have that. Maybe it's because I ate apples and carrots as a kid and I didn't have allergies.

Great video! Really well-structured and good as an introduction video for those who are new to the subject. Regarding tongue ties - I have heard that they could possibly be an epigenetic problem? If we look at ancient skulls virtually all individuals had naturally straight teeth with an intermolar width that seemed very stable throughout the whole species. This could perhaps suggest that tongue ties previously were non-existent? Post-industrialization there has also been a reduction in the amount of time babies have been breastfed, and as I've understood sufficient breastfeeding is essential to prevent tissue under the tongue to stay connected? And this is where the epigentic factor comes in - insufficient breastfeeding has caused the next generation and the generation after that being left with an increasing number of tongue ties. What's your take on this?

Does chewing gum help with strengthening the muscles around your teeth?
@DentalNowPanorama
@DentalNowPanorama 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Charlie! We really appreciate it. Honestly yes it does, to a certain extent. We actually use more than 8 different muscles when we are chewing gum which could help increase the strength of the muscles around your teeth. However we do recommend that you consider eating harder foods such as different nuts because they would help your jaw even more! Thanks a lot for the question. We hope we answered it for you! 🙏

@introverteee
@introverteee 3 жыл бұрын
you should probably leave them, he teeth will go into their places over time! as long as you still don't have any baby teeth and all of your adult ones are grown then you should be fine, extracting teeth is a really bad option
@DentalNowPanorama
@DentalNowPanorama 3 жыл бұрын
Hello! We would highly recommend that you visit a few other dentists and orthodontists in your area so that you can get a better opinion about your condition. We always recommend doing this before proceeding with treatment especially when it comes to extraction treatment. Your teeth will not go into the normal place once they're already crooked and can result in you further damaging your teeth or being more crooked later on. we do suggest that you get orthodontic treatment like braces are Invisalign however we don't suggest that you go through with the first dentist that you talk to. This way you can get the most information about your orthodontic condition. Especially since you are 15, there should be a lot of other options available for you. Hopefully this helps guide you in the right direction!

Hi Doctor, I dont understand @5:26 about how the food we eat today are very soft. Yes for sure we do eat a lot of soft food today but what examples of hard food can you give me for people of ancient days? Didn't people cook their food such as meat over fire as well? And the vegetables and fruits they picked, even if it's out in the wild, wouldn't be hard like rocks right? I don't get it and would appreciate your further explanation. Thanks.

Dental Now Panorama so I need to get my teeth fixed since they are crooked and I went to my dentist and the braces that I could’ve gotten for free 3 years ago are no longer covered by my insurance. I especially have a really crooked front tooth that I’ve wanted to get fixed for years but my parents neglected it since I was a child and only now in my 20s do they actually care. Anyways I’m basically looking for help. I have no clue what to do. Should I try for Invisalign? Do most places even offer it? Should I keep looking? Im tired of my teeth being neglected. I want to get them fixed sooner rather than later.
@DentalNowPanorama
@DentalNowPanorama 4 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry to hear about your condition. Honestly it's not that big of a deal though because you still have the ability to straighten them. At your age, I would certainly consider getting Invisalign instead of braces because they are much harder to notice than metal wires sticking out of your mouth. Over the last few years, we've actually focused a lot of our attention on Invisalign and have been able to work on even some of the most complex cases that we see. Your best bet would be to absolutely consider getting Invisalign, but you should make sure that you visit multiple dentists and orthodontists for FREE consultations to find out exactly what you need to straighten your teeth. You should go to Invisaligns site and try to find highly ranked dentists that have completed quite a lot of treatment over the last few months. This way you know that you'll be getting someone who's done quite a few cases. In fact, at our office Invisalign usually tends to be cheaper than braces so this might be something for you to consider! You can also get some personal insurance for yourself that can cover orthodontic treatment. This way you can save a little bit of money on the treatment if you're actually planning on going ahead. Hopefully this answers your question! If you have any others please don't hesitate to reach out. We would be more than happy to help 🙏 if you wouldn't mind, we would really appreciate you subscribing to our channel. It would mean a lot to us 😀
