English isn't my first language and back in 2010s, not many artists wrote songs with meaningful and comprehensive lyrics. I had a book where I wrote down all Taylor's lyrics and learned from there. I remember singing in the car and my mom was worried I might be singing an inappropriate song unknowingly, but then realised it was just Love Story 😂

same, i learned a lot from her songs. Since i'm her fan my english became much better and even though i'm still learning it's for me easier to learn now because of her songs. For example word Treacherous, i was like what it means? what it is, and then i looked what i means and now i know this word, i don't think i would ever know that word if it wasn't on her song, and there are a lot other words that i know just because of her. I think if she wasn't a singer she would be excellent teacher.

I learned almost all I knew from VH1 back in the day, I unconsciously memorized all the lyrics of Back To December (since I was born in December lol, seven days after Taylor) and I thought it sounded cool. I realized the meaning a few months later and wrote down it in stray pages! So what a similar childhood experience we had! Taylor Swift and Linkin Park really raised me up to be comfortable with English, and learn it as well as my native language. I am pretty much bilingual due to Taylor Swift and because she sparked my interest in the language enough to understand what she was singing about.

I think it's really horrible how people treat her. She never did anything wrong, she was always lovely, kind, nice, sweet girl and really down to earth person who just wanted make music and live their life. I understand if you don't like her music, that's normal everybody has different tastes so it's not possible that everybody would like her music, but people really hate on her as a person, they hate that she's just existing, which i really can't understand! Once i asked somebody on youtube in comments: Why you hate her, what's the reason why you hate her? And what that person wrote is - because i hate her. That's really an amazing answer, i hate her because i hate her. Like people are really hating on her without any reason, they're acting like if she was a murder or something like this. I really don't know what's the problem! They hate on her just because it became a trend, they saw that people hate on her so they started hate on her too while not knowing anything about her, they never set down and tried to look at her with open mind and then make their opinion about her. People started hate on her because she's beautiful (naturally) she's talented and she's successful and that she's outselling, outstreaming and outcharting their faves. People are always making fun of her love life, like she had 8 boyfriend during like 10 years, normal people had much more relationships than her, but they're not judged like she is. Or that she wrote songs about her exes, everybody in music industry doing it too, female artists are judged for it while male artist are never judged for it, but Taylor was always judged the most from all female artists. From what i saw Taylor is actually the most judged artist in music industry, every fucking thing she does is criticized. In my opinion everybody should first set down and look at that person with open mind, and try to search something about them and know little bit about them and then make a honest opinion. For example there is a lot hate towards Cardi B for example, but i never hated on her because it's trendy, i search something about her and got to know something about her and then made opinion about her and i think she's great. I really hate how society works.! I bet that Taylor's haters would like her if they gave her a chance. She's that kind of person who you want to have around you because she's real, she's good person and real friend!

To say that she never did anything wrong is so dishonest… Many people don’t hate her. They critisize her for very specific reasons. We can listen to how she presents herself and do have a right to not like and not respect some forms of that. Ask me what are my reasons to dislike that person and I’ll prove you that dislike of Taylor Swift is not baseless, despite actually knowing something about her.

Idk if you knew this already but since you really liked the fact that she was giving advices to these children, I'm sure you'll like this too. For her album listening parties, Taylor invited some fans to her house, baked for them and played them the songs. I became a fan at the beginning of last year and it was such a nice suprise when I first heard about that and made me appreciate her so much more. I don't know any other artist who does that (maybe there is but I never heard anything like it). She actually has a pretty close relationship with her fans for someone as successful as she is. She even sent fans presents for Christmas. There's a video requested on the sheets "taylor swift cute fan moments" and there are clips of that (and the listening parties) and it's a really good video if you ever wanna react to it :)

i originally was a big fan of taylor during her early fame. i don’t know if you’ve seen her miss americana documentary (highly recommend!!), but i was definitely one of those people who saw the media portrayal of her as a crazy woman who dated around and victimized herself for attention, and i fell into that media trap. (i was also younger and in that phase where i didn’t want to be basic or like popular things) After folklore was released and i fell back in love with her music and her personality, it’s just really sad to see everything that’s happened to her and how the world demonized her for being a human being with real emotions and authenticity, and really reinforced that double standard when it came to popular male artists. but i think public perception of her is shifting with the times. especially seeing the rerelease of her old albums, and the huge difference in public reaction to her songs, compared to how the world reacted originally (the jake gyllenhaal hate campaign being the notable one lmfao). i think more people are starting to see her for who she really is, and not the negative media portrayal of her. it seems maybe that people are increasingly appreciating musical honesty like hers, which is really nice to see.

I'm around Taylor's age and I've been listening to her music since 2007 so I kinda feel like I grew up with her music. And I really feel like I've learned a lot from her, there are songs that have helped me when I was really low and songs that I've played in some of my happiest times like when I graduated college. To me all of her albums are quite different (except maybe her first two) and I really admire her both as an artist who's always trying to do new things and as a person who's always trying to spread kindess and positivity. She’s somebody I love to listen to. She could list her grocery list on a podcast and I’d still listen to it. It’s just so relaxing and she’s incredibly intelligent. In my own opinion, those people or the haters are just jealous of her. There is nothing about their lives to talk to that's why they need Taylor to destroy her. And here's the tip... do you think if Taylor is not popular and successful, they will waste their time to talk about her? So many people do not realize how incredibly intelligent Taylor is; in general, and as a business woman. When you add her amazing talent to that - well, no wonder why she is as successful as she is. If you go back and listen more closely to her "pop, fun, and catchy" radio hits, her song writing is just as brilliant, as it is today, and was at the age of 12. I am a fan of many other fabulous and successful artists as well, but I would venture to say only a few of them are close to being on Taylor's level, when it comes to being a lyrical genius! I don’t like her because she makes up arguments to fit her situation in which she blames sexism, despite it is so easy to debunk them: noone raises a red flag with Ariana Grande, Adele, frankly even Dua Lipa doesn’t get it. Because it is about the way, not about just pure fact that she does it. Also the way she writes or at least wrote in the past, is more blaming than describing her own feelings to me. Let take the argument about writing about exes: she says that her songs being about exes is speculative. But then in past she titled her song ‚Dear John’, or she said herself that if her boyfriends will stop wronging her she’ll stop writing about them. Or that she was told ‚better don’t write song about this break-up’ and then she said she wrote the whole album. So she digs her own hole…

A dear John letter is an actual thing so sure while most of the world is 99% sure that song is about John Mayer, you can still argue it ISNT about him because of that. Therefore she can absolutely say she doesn’t name names, because technically she didn’t.

I know this won’t change your opinion, but here’s a bit of history: John was one of the most popular names during the years of WWII. So when the men went to war & left their sweethearts at home, many of them would get “Dear John” letters saying their girlfriends met someone else. After that, “Dear John” letters are known as a way of a girl leaving a guy (woman/man). Since Taylor is rereleasing her music, I’ve wondered how many people actually know about this.

But of course that doesn't mean it has to be the case for you too, everyone is different and not everyone can like her music. But a few years back I would have never thought I'd like her music but here I am! Idk you so idk if that's the case but people tend to judge pretty quickly from what they hear about artists etc (me included, I'm trying to open my mind more and more about stuff like that) but I think every artists deserve a shot! It's fine if you don't care about something/don't like it as long as you're nasty about it. I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan but people just have different opinions

i want to ask why you don't like her. I understand if you're not fan of her music, everybody has different tastes and it's ok if her music is not your cup of tea, but i'm always starstuck why people hate her as a person that much, she never did anything wrong, she has great personality. She's that kind of person that you want to have around you, because it's a good person and real friend. I'm always thinking :what's the problem with you people? I think that a lot people hate her just because she's beautiful, talented and successful. They're mad that she's destroying their faves in sales, streams, charts and stuff. Or they hate her just because it became a trend, they never really tried to look at her and then make a real opinion about her, they just saw that a lot people hate on her so they should probably do it too. I think it's horrible how society works.
