Why does my drake look different? Understanding the eclipse moult

In autumn will they mate even with this change? Is a hormonal thing? Are they all doing it? We have a nauthy drake that chased the dogs and somehow entered a trap for rodents with glue. I hade to use bensin to clean that aout. Now he has a slow molt. I give him starter feed with lots of protein. What more can I do for him?

Yes, they will still mate while moulting. I think the only think you can do for your drake is to feed high quality high protein. Starter feed maybe unnecessary. Grower feed (18% protein), plus plenty of bugs from your garden - maybe set up a slug trap somewhere and give him the slugs.
