I think if you care and pay attention to your animal you can often tell what it is they are trying to say. With my cat I can tell if she wants to be picked up, if she is asking for food, or if she just wants attention. Even negative signals like if she is irritated with what Im doing, or if she wants to be left alone. They really do speak with their body language and their tone.

I do believe dogs are angels for real, just very low rank, vice angels. Due to having such a weak level for an angel, they can be corrupted by human sins (ex: aggresive dogs). Dogs main job is: protecting from danger, helping in doing jobs, and guiding to a healthy personality and salvation. I am not telling you to treat your dog like a saint, because they already humbly accept they are inferior to humans.

It was truly inspiring to learn that one of our neighbors once had a Great Pyrenees who got into the habit- all on their own- to go from room to room all thrughout the house and look out every window, right after his companion himan family members turned in for bed each night. Assured and satisfied that everything was fine and secure to his satisfaction, he would then curl down on his big old bed in the master bedroom!

My late dog a Boston Terrier who was blind in one eye was always my shadow. Upstairs or downstairs, he'd follow me. Every time I'd come home I could hear him rambling down the stairs to greet me. He'd be on the sofa next to me curled up when I'm watching tv. On my bed I put his blanket there so he can rest while I lie down. When it's bedtime, he sleeps next to my bed on his own mattress with his comfy blankets. I had him for 11 and a half years before he passed away.

My dog is a little stalker. She always has to know what you’re doing including in the bathroom. She can be asleep on the couch-if you leave the room she will be checking on you momentarily. My Westie bothers us in the bathroom (on the toilet, in the shower - it doesn't matter; she used to steal the tubes of face cream and body wash, teeth marks all over them), in the basement (What are we doing down there when she is up stairs? Usually laundry. And when are we coming back up? - Sometimes she will lay on the steps and watch us), everywhere. She and Dad have a special evening cuddle a s snuggle routine (not always as comfortable as it sounds for Dad), and God forbid something interferes with it or he's not in his spot at the exact time - she lets him know it, too.

I remember one of our dogs, Lily, would always come into my room to check on me. I'd say hi to her and try to get her to come in but she didn't really want to come in much. After she passed, her older brother Charlie started doing the same, though he would come into my room outright and we'd snuggle for a bit. We lost them both last year after battling medical issues. I still miss them. If I ever get another dog, I hope they will check on me too. Right now I'm in a weird flux where I do and don't want another one. Rest in peace, Charlie and Lily.

My Puggle is almost 16. She’s not interested in playing with her toys anymore but enjoys our daily walks. While she sleeps with me or follows me everywhere I go, she just doesn’t like to be pet or cuddled. She was also like that as a young dog. It seems like she’s the most responsive to me in a happy way, when I have a dog treat in my hand. She’s constantly looking at my hands to see if some treat is in them. But if I don’t have a treat and I just want to pet her, she backs away. I know she loves me because when I go somewhere, she waits by the front door until I return. She won’t let me cuddle her tho! I don’t get her! She was the runt of her litter, so that explains some of the food and treat obsessions. She just can’t be bothered to get cuddles. 😢

I have a small dog too (Pomeranian) and its great companion and always check on me but recognizes my male cat seniority or leadership because came to our home at last, and always checks on him first looking for approval before approaching to me. I have a German Shepherd / Boarder Collie mix and he is REALLY clingy. He hates the idea of being separated from a human, so much to the point where he bark cries nonstop when separated. If I go into my room and he's outside the door he'll endlessly cry and bark until he's allowed into the room with me. It has woken me up quite a few times which is kinda annoying.

Dogs are true friends, their instinctive loyalty combines with their intelligence. We have two dogs and one cat, the cat is quick to remind us that he is a member of the pack and asserts himself. The dogs and the cat greet me when I come home from work. The cat follows me around the house just like the dogs do. My Carolina dog knows friend from foe, and is friendly to everyone unless they are strangers in our yard. She will bark in a deep tone at an intruder in our yard but not in the street or sidewalk. Out and about on walks the dogs show no aggression. The Carolina dog will tear up another dog if she is attacked or threatened overtly. I avoid this and keep her away from strange dogs.

My doggo always looks towards me almost everytime but at the same time gets depressed becuz his owner (my brother/roommate) moved to San Diego and left him to me. So i tried cheering him up and he grew onto me. He is a Doberman/Retriever named Tipsy. Im very sad that i was forced to put him in Humane Society earlier this year. I was very very sad since he became my best friend and companion, just to keep me calm and sane. Forced to put him there cuz of my sister's kids allergies (i live with my family but separated in housing units). To this day, i still miss my doggo, Tipsy and wonder i will see him again to see if he would recognize me. 😢
