On April 30, 2019, there was a shooting in a UNC Charlotte classroom. Two people died and four were injured. The following semester Dr. Frank Turek and Dr. Rice Broocks to reach the hurting students and answer their questions. One student brought a challenge from atheist Sam Harris: why would God heal some people but not thousands of others? He supposedly heals someone’s back, but thousands of children die? How is that loving? Frank Turek and Rice Broocks respond.

God is unknowable. You healed yourself. You are your body. Ten years ago I had Swine Flue, Viral Pneumonia and a blood clot in my right leg. I never prayed. I just relaxed and let the hospital staff pump me full of antibiotics and blood thinners. I made a full recovered and been fine ever since. I don't believe in Yahweh and he does not believe in me. Evangelist Kim Patrik I don’t have a problem with people being ill , suffering, etc that’s life I have a problem when people claim there is an all powerful, all loving god. If you loved someone , would you let them suffer unnecessarily? If you had the power to take away an illness from one of your children would you do it ? Would you watch even one of your children die of thirst , rather than give them a glass of clean water ? There could be a god , but I doubt very much he is an all loving, all benevolent one. 3.575 million per year Can you guess wha that number relates to ? That is the number of people that die each year from drinking dirty water .

I am asthmatic. God has taught me much through the pain it has brought me - made it very clear to me that pretending to be in control when I'm not is just going to cause more problems. You need others. And sometimes the suffering you go through can be used as a shelter for others when they need you. God's plan for your life doesn't necessarily mean your life will be comfortable. But He does have what's best in mind: and when He bestows grace upon someone, they did not deserve it. Any kindness I have received from Him is not merited, but grace. "Sometimes people ask why bad things happen to good people. Thing is, that only happened once - and He volunteered."

I battled with serious eczema for majority of my life that didn’t respond to any conventional medical treatment and because of it I learned to lean on God. I recently had a miscarriage and through the tears I felt the profound peace for real from God for the first time in my life. My girlfriend was adopted from Russia when she was 10 years old. Living in a Russian orphanage the living conditions were so terrible she got on her knees and prayed to god to get her out and save her. A very short time later she was adopted to America as one of the last children Russia allowed to be adopted. (They no longer allow adoptions to the US). My mom was a prophetess before she died. All through my life, my parents showed us that whenever there was a struggle they just left it all up to God and fell back on him. Of course they did all they could, but when it was out of their own hands it was in God’s hands. My Dad raised the family making $4/hr... when we had our church he never took Govt funding and same for our household. Only once did he take it. It’s always been the same for me growing up

Oh wow! I am a pediatric nurse for 17 years. Seen both miracles and tragedies. I've seen sooooo much. I remember coming home one day after a tragic long shift. I went into the shower on my knees and just wept at the suffering I had just witnessed. I boldly dared asked God why. Why do some get healing miracles which clearly happen that I've seen and some do not. As I was in the shower floor with my head bowed a thought came to my mind. I suddenly remembered Moses at the burning bush when God told him to put his hand in his coat and take it out. When Moses did that his hand was diseased then God said do it again. Moses hand was healed. The conclusion I got from that is God is God and we are not.

Remember everything done is for his glory! That being said, healing or not healing can also be for that same reason. I was in a serious accident, that should of been paralyzed. God healed me only partially. If I had kept going down the road I was on, I wouldn't be a pastor today. I still can't do many things, but I can help others have strength, through my strength. I also now have many autoimmune issues too. This has gotten worst since I was little. I take around 50 pills a day, 2 shots a month, and soon an IV med every 6 months; he helps me get through all of it. But the one thing the devil can't take away is my strong faith in God and Jesus. If everyone was healed we would effectively wipe out all disease and physical ailment and of course no one would ever die. My brother was born with an illness that caused him to die by the age of 29 1/2. There are so many variables only God knows. Would he have been a Christian like he was if not sick? Would he have gone to heaven like he did? How would his life have effected me or the family differently under other circumstances? Did my father's lack of faith cause it? Sins? What about all the negative talk my parents did lacking faith? I have personally recieved healing in my life, but it didn't seem to come easy. It seems you have your healing when you finally believe you are really healed before you see it. You know in your heart you are healed and you understand it from faith in God's Word. You have what you believe and what you say. Many will say that, but what is really in your heart. I think it's hard to be born a certain way and believe any differently. In the end, only Eternity matters though and I believe God has it all under control.

I think you're right and that you have to know in your heart what God has said and come to an understanding when you get healed. I think the reason much suffering happens in the world is because although Christians come to Faith in God, there are certain things I believe we as Christians don't understand *that we are SUPPOSED to understand.* I think the word of God is supposed to become alive in a person and that person becomes that word, and the power of God is released through the unity of that man and God. I think God heals some and not others many times because he uses a partnership with man to bring about his will, and that means he does it *through* people, but people don't know how to operate in the things of God, often because of typical cliche responses taught by Christians and things like that, which may be true at times or may be true in that it applies in every situation, but the depth of those truths may not be explored and therefore not understood by the believer, and so a believer may not become active in those things even though he's aware of them and believes them, and therefore the miracle doesn't happen. I don't think God is to blame for the lack of miracles, I think we Christians are because we don't seek God's face the way we should, because we don't meditate on God's word day and night to come to this understanding, and because we have many traditions in our beliefs that may not necessarily be biblical ("sacred cows"). I don't think it is US waiting on God, I believe God many times is waiting on us. This is why I think it's very good for Christians to study the topic of healing and miracles, by diving into the scriptures, studying testimonies, and listening closely to Jesus words to gain insight on what the Bible is actually saying. I think people should study the topic of healing in depth the same way they would study other topics, and not just leave it to assumptions that a person will just get healed randomly "whenever God feels like it", but that perhaps God wants to heal people and God's people do not understand what they should understand... You can check out these people who do teach on healing and miracles. Did you know that the DNA molecule has the name Yahweh written on it? The DNA molecule is a double helix , consisting of 2 major segmented strands that spiral clockwise. These strands are connected by sulfur bridges, like the rungs of a ladder. These bridges are not evenly spaced along the molecule, but they do have a specific pattern. There’s a bridge, then 10 segments later there’s another one. Then 5 segments later another one, then 6 segments another one, then 5 segments later another bridge. This 10-5-6-5 pattern is then repeated over and over again for the entire length of the molecule. This is particularly interesting when viewed with the Hebrew language. In Hebrew, the numbers 10-5-6-5 correspond to the letters Y-H-W-H, which is the name for God, Yahweh. The God who created our very DNA signed his name in every DNA molecule to let us know that we are His. He created us, and then he signed his name in our very DNA. What’s even more remarkable is that Hebrew is a pictorial language as well. Each letter represents an image or concept. Specifically, the Y represents “Behold”, the H represents “a hand”, and the W represents “a nail.” So altogether, the name YHWH is saying, “Behold the nail in my hand.” Not only is our DNA telling us that we belong to God, but it is telling us who that God is. He is the one with the nail in his hands, the one who died for our sins, he is none other than Jesus Christ. Jesus IS God. He is the one who created us. Even at the beginning of creation, when he was still creating our DNA, he knew that we would mess up and need a savior. He knew that he would have to come and take the nails in his hands and die for our sins. Before we ever messed up, he was already thinking about how he could redeem us and bring us back home! Some people say they don’t believe in God, they believe in “science.” But here is science telling us through DNA that we were not only created by God, but that that God is none other than Jesus Christ! Jesus loves us so much. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

My Aunt said that she prayed to Mary for 60 years and where did it get her? With tears in her eyes she said 22 operations and now she does not believe in God. Crying, she said, "I had my first operation at age 21." My Mother prayed to the father in the name of Jesus according to John 16:23 and had zero operations. She was miraculously healed in 1977 and 2016. When Churches beg God over and over again (which does not work because in Matthew 6:7 Jesus said not to use vain repetitions), they fall back onto philosophy to explain why God does not heal. Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopal, Nazarene, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Orthodox teach the following: 1. God is Sovereign. 2. God is all powerful 3. God is in control 4. God can do whatever he wants 5. God has a purpose, a plan and a time for everything, 6. God knows what you are suffering 7. God will heal you in his time. (I used to believe the above) This is HOPE, not FAITH. You are hoping in God 7 times. Jesus said all things were possible to him who believes, not him who hopes (Mark 9:23). Mark 11:24 says in the original to believe you ALREADY received. And Matthew 6:7 says the repetitions are vain. The received has an epsilon in front of it which means it is past tense. Most translations translate it to present or future, but this is a gross mistake. In Mark 6:5-6 Jesus WANTED to heal the blind, deaf, paralyzed but COULD'T because of their unbelief. James 1:6-7 says not to think that you will receive if you doubt. Jesus never said, 1. Go to the doctor 2. What did the doctor say? 3. It is not God's will to heal you 4. Wait 5. God has a purpose in this sickness. 6. God know's what you are suffering. 7. God has a purpose and a plan and a time for everything. 8. In His time, God will heal you. My Aunt said that she prayed to Mary for 60 years and where did it get her? With tears in her eyes she said 22 operations and now she does not believe in God. Crying, she said, "I had my first operation at age 21." In the Original Greek in Mark 11:24, Jesus commands His apostles to believe that they already received when they pray. In 2016, six specialists told my mother that she needed a pacemaker. She was so weak that she could only walk 20 feet in 10 minutes, and then had to sit down and rest. I shared Mark 11:24 with my mother. We prayed in the name of Jesus and then my mother praised God that she was already healed. The next day she walked a mile to go get her groceries, completely normal. She never did need a pacemaker. Just days before, she was so weak that she was hospitalized for 10 days. My neighbor was sent home to die because he was so low on the list for a kidney transplant. He was bedridden. The doctors told the wife that in 2 to 3 days he would be dead. We prayed the same way and he rose up completely normal the next day. He stood out in the front yard and stopped all the neighbors and told them what happened. I could go on and on for hours telling you about several neighbors and several relatives that received this way. God confirms His Word with signs (Mark 16:20), the problem is that too many are using vain repetitions which Jesus said were vain in Matthew 6:7. Also it is the prayer of FAITH that heals the sick in James 5:15, not just prayer. Faith is based on the Bible. Since 99% of Churches do NOT teach on healing, 99% of Churches cannot pray the prayer of Faith to receive healing. Look up James 5:15, it is the prayer of FAITH that heals, not the prayer of repetition. In Matthew 9:2, it was THEIR faith, in Matthew 9:22, it was HER faith, and in Matthew 9:29, it was THEIR faith that caused them to receive. That 3 times in only 1 chapter. In Acts 14:7-10 it was the mans faith that healed him, not Paul's faith. My mother sang in Church in Greek prior to coming to the US. I took 2 years of Greek at my Catholic University just so that I could prove the difference between Hope and Believing. I even told my Greek professor and read to her Mark 11:24 in the original. She and a Greek man in Church and 2 other Greek's from work told me that I am correct in my interpretation. You must believe that you already received prior to receiving. You must believe the Bible, not Philosophy to receive.

@skirtonbear1
@skirtonbear1 3 жыл бұрын
So are you thinking God causes all trouble? Our sin caused all of creation to exist in a fallen state. When God heals someone it is out of His mercy and Grace which aren’t deserved, but added to us. Cruel parents are sinful and have no ability to be good, the way God is good. I didn’t see a sound message here from CE, when I usually do; it was difficult to follow their points. What you took away from it seemed to come from a part they started, but didn’t finish. =God intends the best for everyone. Each person has the option to choose to trust and love God or not. Some will never accept Him, His Son’s sacrifice, nor His plan. We don’t know what He is doing when He does or doesn’t heal someone here on earth, because we assume that He should just fix things for everyone the way we want it. But that would take away the spiritual growth, the spiritual, mental, and emotional strength people gain when we persevere. That isn’t cruel. Sometimes we are given an extra measure of healing supernaturally. To require it from Him means that it is thought we deserve it. In the end we go where we want to: away or toward Him, Hell or Heaven. Yet He does supply rain and sun to everyone.

If God simply healed everyone, it would defeat the weight of sin. The sickness, illness, and disease of this world is a symptom of the fallen, corrupted state of the world. If God cured all of these things, it would merely be treating the symptom and not the cause (the cause of which is sin). The real solution is far more difficult, which is removing the wickedness in man's heart.

If one's ancestors did a horrible job at maintaining the world, bringing much corruption and evil into it, then their children are forced to inherit this corrupt, fallen world. This is the nature of responsibility and of cause and effect: we inherit the corruption of our ancestors' sins. Such an arrogant point of view. First of all if you're a materialist then neither of those points you made make any sense since good and evil do not exist. Also this makes all things relative and simply the natural occurances of reality and yet it was never promised that anyone would be healed in scripture. It was promised that we will be able to be redeemed in our next life by having faith in what Jesus did for us in this life. If you don't do that then you have to answer for your sins yourself and there will be a just punishment for those sins. Either way you aren't God and cannot understand him because as he said his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts for his thoughts are as high above our thoughts as the heavens are above the earth. If you want to assume that you know better from your bleak and murky perspective then by all means continue to remain inconsistent with your worldview.

@TwwwJ JwwwT Have you never heard of the Great Irish Famine around 1850 which killed approximately 1.5m people? I bet you most of the chrisitian men, women and children who died begged and pleaded with Yahweh to save them. It would have been so easy for him to make manna fall from the sky like he did in the Old Testament. And yet he decided to look the other way. Actually we do know the big picture, The bible is divided into past, present and future dispensations, we are commanded to rightly divide the bible to properly understand these things. God isn't doing SUPERNATURAL healings in this grace dispensation because that would prove God exists, it would negate faith in the unseen, blessed are we who don't see and yet believe.....this age of faith will end at the glorious appearing ( the rapture) at that time God will remove all doubts and He will speak to them in His sore displeasure and those left behind will either do what God says THEN or not

God’s message today is not that the saved are immune to sickness, pain, death, or would physically overcome their enemies. This is the message of Israel’s kingdom. God’s message today is that his grace is sufficient to save the weakest sinner in their infirmity (Rom 5:8). Though we still get sick and weak in the flesh, he provides spiritual strength to the inner man by his grace through faith. When we are weakest in the flesh we die, and it is then that his grace is magnified most for it is then that we are glorified with Christ. Physically, acknowledge that we all are weak and will eventually die. Until that day, remember that our body is the Lord’s (1 Cor 6:19-20). See a doctor, eat well, get rest and exercise. Take care of yourself. After all, we live for Christ’s sake. Positionally, we are already dead waiting for the hope of glory. Until that day, your inner man needs strengthened to bear infirmities for Christ’s sake. Whether you are alive, dead, or sick Christ can be magnified, because hope is not found in your flesh but in the Lord (Phi 1:20). His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor 12:9). Remember, that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in the saints (Rom 8:18). Rejoice in the Lord, pray without ceasing, in every thing give thanks (1 Th 5:16-18). Continue doing the will of God for today, to live by grace walking by faith, because his grace is where you find the power of Christ.

Many don't even know God or even if they know they reject him and live in sin according to the desires of their heart. So, they don't receive their healing. God will surely heal them if they reject their own ways and turn their heart towards God in faith. if u are struggling in stopping your ways/sins, ask God sincerely to give u strength, talk with him all that u have, that's prayer.
