Why doesn't the xTool P2 frame jobs?

I did a similar thing using my X-Carve to do the red stripes and the word VETERAN, I used a vinyl cutter to do the blue field with stars, and my laser to do the local memorial statue and all five military seals. I tried to attach it here to show you, but I guess Comments don't allow attachments. I like combining different technologies for products.

Looks nice. Got a question: On your laser that you built a cover for where did you find the laser shield for the door?? I have been lookin for some but don't know exactly what it is called. I see orange plastic on amazon, but it doesn't state that it's for lasers shield.

I just can’t imagine that a frame, even if there was a red dot, would be anywhere as accurate as the close view camera.

I agree with your thoughts of what xTool was thinking - but the company is making a judgement that about 90% of other CO2 and diode users would disagree with. The P2 is marketed as an upgrade from the D1 Pro. It would be so much less of a learning curve between them if we could use the same workflow from our D1 to the P2. We could work into using the camera instead of having to do everything completely different.

I would have preferred they add an internal red dot. Then it would be very versatile

Framing on a rotary is critically needed. I have cups that I have to work around existing graphics and it is really hit and miss

Measure the area that you plan to engrave, create a tool line that size, center graphic in tool line and run it. The P2 is not my favorite for tumblers, I prefer the S1. P2 is more complex

@@TheClackShack agreed, I do use a frame box with output set to No to get the outer dimensions dialed in. But again, when there are pre-existing graphics on the Cup and you have to get them lined up, it really is challenging. I also tried setting the box line to 1 power but it leaves little tick marks at the corners.

@@rocketberger I use painters tape and a sharpy to mark the bottom with an arrow toward the logos. It helps me make sure where it is at, even when its on the under side during setup.

Your channel is fantastic and normally I wouldn't comment... but nothing, absolutely nothing, should ever be placed on or in front of the USA flag. According to protocol and in respect for those that gave their very lives to protect our beautiful nation it is never to be used as a backdrop in art or real life. You should look this up for your own knowledge- but don't shoot the messenger. Like I said, your channel is excellent. So I thought you'd like to know the is a deeper meaning and expectations to using the flag in your works properly with reverance and respect. Have a nice Sunday and thanks for the video.

I agree with your sentiment. But look at all the wrong things people do with the flag. It should never be used on clothing and the flag should never be displayed horizontally. So I think there are much more egregious violations at most any NFL game. 😖

Besides this being imagery and not an actual flag... I understand that many feel that way but if you walk into any post office or federal building in America, I guarantee that you will see many important people photographed with a flag in the background. Many of the "regulations" were made in an era where digital imagery did not exist. Being part of an honor guard for many years, I have reviewed the "regulations" many times. I have handed over folded flags to the family of fallen officers on more than one occasion. I would like to use this link and a photo of the Chief of Staff of the Army as my example (www.army.mil/leaders/csa/bio/). If you look at in the manner of defending your country, it could be symbolic of "I stand between evil and my Country". One more reason that I love the U.S., we can all have our beliefs, views and opinions. Even if they differ. I would never however, use any image of the flag for anything that would disgrace it. I have lost many friends and family to the service of the military. I also, have lost many fellow LEOs doing the same right here at home as well as small pieces of myself. The freedom and safety that we all enjoy is not free, many people pay the cost. I promise you, I respect the flag and what it stands for. Thanks for watching

I think that the context of the use should be considered on any use. I think I covered my thoughts on the comment above. I feel that imagery is different than the actual flag.

Nice job on the video, but for the price of the P2, you should not have to sand after engraving something. That is beyond charred, that looks semi-burned.

Personal preference as well as dependent on the wood type. Looks great to me.

Personal preference...seriously? You really think it "looks great..." before you sanded it? The wood is way charred...you did a great job sanding it, but you shouldn't have to sand it. @@TheClackShack
