We are making new friends, but also enemies which increases the risk of finding this one guy who will turn out to be a bad guy all of a sudden. And that's what happened to Claude multiple times, but Salvatore's case seems to be the most extensive here. That's because there were several reasons for making such a decision. We should not feel sorry for him when she put many horns on him. It was his choice to marry a young girl old enough to be his daughter who despised him and didn’t like him from the beginning. Was Salvatore so stupid not to realise that this relationship will not bring happiness to him, she will never be interested in him as a man, and it will be mésalliance with materialistic interests of a young girl to old creepy man? They regretted about connecting their lives with each other. But the price for this mistake was very huge. For both of them. Salvatore was killed and Maria was possibly killed by a man whom she blindly trusted just in 27 or 29 y.o. But some players say that she signed her death sentence during her job in Casino in Las Venturas. A white hair in the beard and a demon in the rib - this old good Russian idiom fits Salvatore perfectly.

He tried to dissuade her from this relationship, tried to warn her that this relationship doesn’t have a future, won’t bring happiness and won’t end up good. He tried to warn her that Salvatore well destroy her emotionally and spiritually and she’ll make only worse for herself with this mésalliance. Damn this old scumbag got Maria’s father being right. If only Maria listened to her father, if she didn’t work in Caligula’s Casino, if she had just never met Salvatore, there would be no insults, no humiliations, no drug addiction, no troubles, no depression and her life could be much better. We know that she was born around the early or mid-70s, presumably in 1972 or 1974, which makes her the same age as Claude. She was born unknown where, but thanks to her strong Libertonian accent (thanks to Debi Mazar), I dare to assume that she was born, grew up and lived her childhood and youth in Liberty City, the worst place in America, where banditry, drugs, robberies, murders, extortion, lust and debauchery are common and the norm of life. She is Italian-American and not the first in the Latore family - she has a sister, rather the eldest, she is married and has two children. But who her sister is - history is silent. If it exists, of course. We also don't know anything about her childhood. Was she an ordinary girl, a child, and then a teenager with her whole life ahead of her? Or was she badly brought up in a poor and dysfunctional family and ran away to Las Venturas to find a rich and powerful sugar daddy with a simple job? History is silent again. CJ had a stake in Woozie's 4 Dragons Casino which Salvatore, Marco, and Paulie attempted to sabotage. CJ couldn't let that go unpunished. Salvatore was also planning to whack CJ's new friends Ken, Kent, and Maccer. CJ couldn't just hang his new friends out to dry. CJ didn't have a choice but to fuck Salvatore over and do the Caligula's Casino heist. CJ should've called and discussed that with Joey before the Caligula's Casino heist and, if that didn't work, discussed it with Salvatore and offered to reimburse the Leones alone for Joey's friendship's sake and offered to continue to do jobs for Salvatore and Joey when Salvatore called CJ just after the Caligula's Casino heist. Salvatore was never paranoid. Salvatore was always just smart. Salvatore knew Curly Bob was a rat. When Claude followed Curly Bob to Catalina and Miguel in front of the spank ship, and Curly Bob mentioned Salvatore's "paranoia", Catalina mocked Curly Bob and asked, with "loyalty" like Curly Bob's, what Salvatore possibly has to worry about. The problem is Salvatore just made the wrong choice about Claude and Maria. Salvatore should've just killed Maria and kept Claude working for him. Maria was never anything but a gold-digging drug-addicted 304 hole in Salvatore's pocket. Claude was useful to Salvatore. How could Salvatore go from Joey's mom to that?

Even back then when it first released, my initial impression was that Claude was so good at his job, perhaps too good at it. That Salvatore got paranoid to the point where he thought his "favorite cleaner" was more a threat than an asset. I don't know if the CJ double-cross years ago really had much to do with it. In the Mafia world, you deal with all sorts of two-faced types.

That definitely makes sense If you have an underdog working for you who is clearly way to good at his job that makes him a threat to your whole operation and could easily turn against if he wanted to, I'd be wise to get rid of them. Claude was a man who'd betray anyone for what he wanted and had no sympathy, that and combined his frightening efficiently and quickness of killing and doing all sorts of illegal and violent missions against threats seemed impossible to take on by one man, I'd say getting rid of Claude was both the smartest and worst thing to do. Sure it's smart theoretically to get rid of him, but Claude ain't a man to be messed with, even the mafia itself. And betraying Claude is a grave mistake, no matter who you are.

Years after the events of GTA San Andreas After CJ along with his crew and Triad caused the heist at the casino he just did not know someone like CJ who would do clean up jobs for him such as sending him down to take out the Forellis then would end up robbing from him like he did, He may have grown to be increasingly paranoid after that and in the life that Salvatore lives this happens to anyone, they get paranoid and wrong people gets whacked. So why Salvatore do what he did? He was afraid that Claude would've been something of a threat towards him and that was a mistake in the end

He was angry that Jamaicans and Colombians were still allies and said that Claude is guilty even though he did the job as he wanted. Having played GTA SA and LCS, I always assumed the reason Salvatore tried to kill Claude was because he was over his head with power and he considered maria to be his property. He was betrayed by CJ and lost billions in 1992, and in 1998 had to deal with alot thrown at him. Four years later in 2001 it just all went to his head and didn't want to deal with it again so when he found out Maria was cheating on him with Claude he decided to kill Claude but unfortunately Claude killed Salvatore. Also remember that by 2001 Sal and Maria had been together for almost 10 years by that point after meeting in the casino in Las Venturas In 1992. It's a shame what happened to Salvatore. After playing LCS you definitely feel bad killing him in 3. A good alternate route should have been that Salvatore cut Maria loose and keep Claude in his mafia. They would have rose to the top together and probably wiped out the Columbians and Catalina. Claude would have been a lot like Toni was to sal in lcs. Pity.

A man with one rule in his veins “Betray first before you could be betrayed”. A man who saw enemies everywhere and everyone even in his own family (I’m Jesus surrounded by 12 Judases), but who never defeated his biggest enemy which was himself. Not a family man who valued not his family, especially his son, but only himself. An old perverted lovelace who loves to touch, molest and harass young girls, a lustful womanizer for whom women are just toys. It was him who acted as a good man, investing in Caligula’s Casino, but came as an invader and an usurper and tried to outsmart and manipulate everyone and then betray them to take everything for himself, for his power and ego, but he burned in that thanks to CJ who perfectly saw his evil personality and humiliated him, turning him into laughingstock. He scammed Toni Cipriani paying him just a pathetic half-million dollars, he betrayed Claude for the peace with the Colombians, he and only he poisoned and ruined Maria’s life. CJ and Claude perfectly showed that he’s not omnipotent, his power is not unlimited and not endless. There’s always someone else that stronger, smarter and more cunning than him. Everyone mentions salvatore's paranoia and maria telling him about her and claude, but I like to look at the bigger picture, after saving claude maria mentions that salvatore cut a deal with the cartel, so that what happened: the leone's rule over portland, sure the triads and diablos are there too but they are too weak to undermine them, one day the Leone's find out that there is this new drug on the streets called spank because some pusher sold some to Luigi's girls, of course they're not happy about it because it's a threat to their power in portland. Joey then finds out that the triads are selling spank on behalf of "some gang from colombia or colorado or whatever", so he gets chunky lee chonk killed, despite this the triads grow bold with this new business tgey set up and the laundry in chinatown stops paying protection to the leones in order to pay it to the triads, this starts a war between them. At this point the cartel decides to step in because the leones are undermining their business, so they start using curly bob as an informant, the leones get him killed and destroy the cartel's spank factory, but they know that this is just a temporary solution, demand creates supply and not viceversa, so it's just a matter of time before the spank appears again in portland, in order to avoid an endless and useless war on multiple fronts they negotiate with the cartel and one of catalina's requests was the death of claude, the leones of course agree because he us just a henchman that never joined the family.

You can also connect Claude to CJ. Claude owned the garage in San Fierro and it was lost to CJ in that race, that probably can easily be traced. I'm sure Salvatore traced records. So this Claude guy comes out of nowhere and has a connection to the one man in the country that Salvatore is paranoid of....in Sal's mind it was probably like "what are the odds?" so he ordered the hit.

I wrote why Sal betrayed Claude but also the reason why he betrayed Claude is not only because of paranoia, his paranoia was justified in many cases, he did it because Salvatore is a… psychopath, who just uses everyone to do the dirty work for him, clean his mess and then he scams or gets rid of them when he doesn’t need them anymore. If you look at cutscene of Last Request mission we can see that Salvatore smiles to Claude before betraying him, he will enjoy how he’ll burn in the car alive with the sadistic pleasure. I can say you many signs that Salvatore is a psychopath. 1. Superficially charming and charismatic; "silver tongued" - checked. He used them to greet Claude and show his treacherous nature, he used it to seduce young and naive Maria just to show his true abusive, manipulative and unfaithful later... 2. Narcissistic and egocentric - checked. He cares only about himself, he looks down on everyone, he thinks that he's the biggest, the smartest and the most cunning and he uses only for his own benefits such as Ken Rosenberg, CJ, Toni Cipriani and Claude. 3. Cruelty and Mean Streak - checked. He's a very sneaky and treacherous person. He showed them in Caligula's Casino after dealing with the Sindacco and Forelli Family and he also showed it to Maria when his superficial charm and charisma wears off, showing abusive and humiliating attitude to her. 4. Habitual liar, hypocrite and dishonest person - checked. He agreed for the deal not to be an equal partner but an invader and an usurper. He said that he wanted an independent guy by three Families but he said that Ken is only his puppet showing his hypocrisy. He scammed Toni CIpriani, lied to Claude for being a Made Man for destroying Colombian Ship, no comments about his attitude to Maria. 5. Manipulative - checked. He manipulated everyone in Caligula's for gaining all place for himself and to betray them, he manipulated his friendship with Toni Cipriani as an excuse for scamming him, he manipulated Claude as a small coin to sold him to the Colombians for the peace deal, he manipulated Maria pretending love to her, but he never loved her. 6. Shows no remorse; rationalizes wrongdoings, says people deserved it - his actions in Caligula's, with Toni Cipriani whom he scammed, with Claude whom he betrayed and with Maria whom he poisoned and ruined her life shows it perfectly. 7. Needs for power, control and dominance - checked. He enjoys domination and control of everything and everyone, look down on everyone, has a huge megalomania with endless lust for power. 8. Sadistic enjoyment of pain and suffering - checked. He hung Kent Paul and Macсer out of the window by the legs for no reason and he smiles on that, he looks on scared Ken Rosenberg because he enjoys how he suffers, he smiled on his arguments with Maria in LCS and III showing his pleasure how she suffers from his insulting and humiliating attitude, he smiled in the front of Claude before betraying him. 9. Lacks empathy - checked. His relationships with his trophy wife Maria is an example. Very cynical and heartless person. 10. Exploration of others for personal gain - checked. He uses everyone just for his personal benefit, power and prestige. He used Toni to solve all his problems, to make himself a Liberty City's Kingpin and scammed him, he used Claude for his benefits and he sold him to the Colombian Cartel, he used Maria as his trophy wife, poisoned and ruined her life. 11. Sexually promiscuous - checked. He is a perverted lovelace who loves to use, touch and molest young girls, a lustful womanizer for whom women are just toys. He regularly cheats on Maria with young girls in JD's brothel, later Luigi's Sex Club 7, in LCS we saw him twice at least in the brothel (Don in 60 seconds and Salvatore Salvation), he's a frequent customer of brothels where he uses services of young sex workers, he has a personal pimp, Luigi Goterelli who delivers girls to him, he presumably has a whole harem of many young mistresses. 12. Impulsive - checked. His main rule in his veins - betray first before you could be betrayed. Of course, it comes from CJ's heist of Caligula's when CJ turned him into laughingstock but before being betrayed he planned to betray everyone. He even aimed pistol on Toni Cipriani and insulted his mother saying that “his mother was still turning tricks”, meaning that Toni’s mother was… a sex worker. 13. Calculated and Strategic Planning - checked. His plan with Casino, using Toni and preparing betrayal for Claude speaks about many things. 14. Has many short term relationships - checked. As I said before, he's a womanizer, he enjoys to treat women as toys and he uses his status to use women and throw them away like a used condom. Short term relationships in Caligula’s Casino and with Claude are also examples. 15. Violent tendencies, abuse or aggression - checked. Look what he did with Maria! 16. May be highly intelligent, but has no conscience - checked. He shows his intelligence as a mask, but he always has a knife from behind which he's ready to stab into you. He had no conscience in betraying Claude and in insulting and humiliating Maria. 17. He thinks he is never wrong - checked. He claims himself as a Big Boss, he is the main, everyone else are nothing to him. He claims that he's omnipotent and his power over everyone is endless and unlimited. 18. Hostile and Oppositional by Nature - checked. He pretends to be friendly, kind, charming and affectionate (to women) but for a short time, his true nature is aggressive, narcissistic, violent and misogynistic. 19. Accepts no responsibility for actions - checked. Behaving as an usurper in Caligula's, scamming Toni, betraying Claude and poisoning and ruining Maria's life without any empathy, conscience and fell of responsibility are examples. 20. Master of deception - checked. I said everything above. Salvatore never was Claude's friend. He never loved Maria. He never had an honour even to Toni Cipriani whom he scammed in the end paying him pathetic half-million by manipulating his friendship with him. Yes, Toni is the only one whom he didn't betray because he knew what type of person he is, he is always a part of the Leone family, he always helped him, and he knows he's almost a one man army, who made him the Big Man. But Salvatore used people for his benefit and ego and got rid of them when he didn't need them anymore, which he tried to do with Ken Rosenberg, Kent Paul and Maccer, but failed, thanks to CJ, which he did with JD O'Toole (it's a complicated story and it was the right thing), which he tried to do with Claude, but failed, thanks to Maria and what he tried to do with Maria but failed again. That’s why he wished to kill Claude, that’s why Maria left him (or was kicked out) being an emotionally destroyed person. If you look at original doc design of III her betrayed him for the peace with the Colombians, nothing personal, just business. He's a ruthless psychopath with no remorse, conscience and empathy. Sal betrayed the betrayer.

You should know that Mike who worked for Asuka and had gorgeous sex her, so gorgeous, that he could not feel his legs, kidnapped her niece Yuka before working for her. He did it for Cisco, leader of the Colombian Cartel to blackmail the Yakuza. Mike later saved Yuka, for sure. But I’m sure in 100% that Yuka revealed the truth to her kinky, cute and violent auntie - it was Mike who kidnapped her. I’m sure Asuka was furious about it, she trusted Mike so much, she had feelings to him. And we saw in III that she extremely values the family. But, unfortunately, she miscalculated when she was introduced to Claude.

CJ had a stake in Woozie's 4 Dragons Casino which Salvatore, Marco, and Paulie attempted to sabotage. CJ couldn't let that go unpunished. Salvatore was also planning to whack CJ's new friends Ken, Kent, and Maccer. CJ couldn't just hang his new friends out to dry. CJ didn't have a choice but to fuck Salvatore over and do the Caligula's Casino heist. CJ should've called and discussed that with Joey before the Caligula's Casino heist and, if that didn't work, discussed it with Salvatore and offered to reimburse the Leones alone for Joey's friendship's sake and offered to continue to do jobs for Salvatore and Joey when Salvatore called CJ just after the Caligula's Casino heist. Salvatore was never paranoid. Salvatore was always just smart. Salvatore knew Curly Bob was a rat. When Claude followed Curly Bob to Catalina and Miguel in front of the spank ship, and Curly Bob mentioned Salvatore's "paranoia", Catalina mocked Curly Bob and asked, with "loyalty" like Curly Bob's, what Salvatore possibly has to worry about. The problem is Salvatore just made the wrong choice about Claude and Maria. Salvatore should've just killed Maria and kept Claude working for him. Maria was never anything but a gold-digging drug-addicted 304 hole in Salvatore's pocket. Claude was useful to Salvatore. How could Salvatore go from Joey's mom to that?

But she refused to be the working girl. At that place she met Frankie Sorvino (beta name of Salvatore), he took her, locked her in the house, made her his trophy house girl, he didn’t arrive her wish for studying and building the career. Most of the missions Salvatore gave Claude had to everything do with eradicating spank which is the drug of all drugs which was made of and has the combined effects of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroine and was being trafficked by the Colombians, the Diablos (later known as the Spanish Lords), the yardies, and the triads all over Liberty and the Alderney ShoreSide Vales. I'd've chosen Catalina in 1992 over Maria in either 1992 or 2001 any day of the week and twice on Lord's Days and this is coming from someone who hates Catalina both in 1992 and 2001. Cesar should've got himself a better cousin. Claude hopefully got himself a better girlfriend if Cesar didn't take a trip to Liberty City to find and kill Claude for killing Catalina if Cesar didn't already disown Catalina for getting involved in pushing spank in 2021.

There was no information about Maria’s dead body. If she really was killed, the report would say that Maria’s dead body was found on the top level of the dam.
