Thank you for another great and informative video Chris! Definitely going to consider looking into this product. I purchased water sensors several yearsago and never got them out of the box and placed them down. Maybe this will give me the incentive to get going on it. 🥴

Oh you definitely should!

Nice video. I change my washer hoses once a year. Everyone should really. Your shutoff valves won’t lock up closed and your hoses will always be in top shape.

Good tip 👍🏻

I asked a question on an old video you made installing french doors in your home office. I asked because I want to know if you had to get the doors made.

It’s often easier to modify the rough opening to fit a standard door instead of getting a custom door.

Would you want the sensors pointing down so they detect the water faster? Now you have to wait for the sensor to be submerged for the metal connectors to alarm.

They have one set of sensors on top and two sets on the bottom.

Cool product and could save you thousands avoiding a leak. I did the same thing with samsung smart things products. I put then behind the toilets and under the kitchen sink.

I would totally add the water valve shutoff but my 1950's house has NO shutoff. The only way I can shut off the water is at the curb. I would have to get individual shutoffs for each water source (2 toilets, washer, dishwasher, waterheater).

Yikes. My 2 cents: spend the money to have a plumber install a ball valve on the incoming water main to have a whole-house shutoff inside the house.

I'm 59 years old and I've never heard of braided stainless steel hoses breaking or leaking. Wouldn't that take enormous water pressure to break them?

Many installers use inexpensive rubber hoses so I wasn’t just talking about mine. But a braided hose is just a rubber hose inside the braid so it may not burst but it can certainly develop a leak.

Those hoses should probably be replaced every 5 years since the rubber inside those hoses can break down over time
