Do you know what body image is? Body image is how you think about what your body looks like and how you compare it to the other bodies you see on the street, on TV, in magazines, in movies and commercials. In fact, you've probably only seen a few kinds of bodies over and over again. This might trick you into thinking there are only two kinds of acceptable bodies for men and women and that you're constantly comparing yourself to them. You'll sometimes feel like you fall short, like you're not doing enough, or you, yourself, aren't enough. But, here's the thing-what we consider to be an ideal is constantly changing! don't worry. I'm a teenager and I only have buds. if a boy sees you as only a body being important, than he sucks and isn't worth it. hopefully one day you'll have the courage that next time he makes fun of you you can ignore him or just tell him to stop. if it gets any worse or if he keeps on doing that, you should tell the principal, the boy's parents, or your parents about it so they can help out with it, because making fun of a person's body is an awful thing to do.

God same I would never care about my body until 6th grade and I have long, curly and weavy hair so it's hard for me when ever I try to free my hair people will call it a bush which I can't complain but once when my hair was down in my school bus I was sitting next to a boy who was older then me and when I opened the bus window my hair started flying so the boy complained about my hair and since then I never felt good about putting my hair down even though my friends couraged me too by telling me I look cute but I just told them my hair gets tangled (it's true they get tangled within seconds!) easily so I don't want to let my hair be free... And because of this quarentine I have gained weight, face fat, belly fat and stretch marks so it was hard for me while my classmates looked the same so I thought there was something wrong with since my English teacher also asked me if I have gained fat. I know that my class mates will go through the same so I have to be patient and hopefully this puberty thing will be over soon and while it's going I'm gonna do a few exercise to help reduce it so I wish you good luck and feel good about your body!! 💖

I started caring what looked like at about 2-3 grade. I was darker than all the white girls at school. I was black and had no self esteem. I would always be crying by myself when everyone left. I wasn't developed as the other girls, I didn't have long straight hair, light skin, light eyes, a smaller nose etc... like the other girls. And my personality was too bright. For the entirety of my elementary life and some of middle school I felt abandoned and hated by my peers. I just started high school and wish I could go back and tell that lonely 7 year old girl that everything was going to be okay and that even if nobody loved her, I did. No more trying to change to look lighter or thinking about future surgery ( I went through a scary phase). I still have insecurities but at the end of the day, it's okay

Adara Ceja body dysmorphia is something that happens to all kinds of people , not just those who identify as trans gay, etc. yes it’s not connecting with your body and recognizing it as your own but it’s also I focus on flaws and how people will view themselves as deformed or freaky. You can’t connect with the image in the mirror because it’s just not you or you don’t want it to be you. I'm 14 and I don't like my body. The reason is I'm selfish, I didn't get bullied, I don't have acne or any problems. I personally believe I'm fat (I way 7 stone) however other people say that my weight is fine. I've been told by my mum and school mates that I'm chubby but I didn't care I now do but not because of them. I'm so fixed on being apart of "society" I'm not smart and don't have beautiful figure so their shouldn't be anything wrong with me. But yet my self esteem is some how low.

Am I a boy ? Or am I a girl? Idk but damn I ..... feel like sh*t I don’t know what I am, I’ve been questioning for a while, but , I’ll go through months not feeling like a boy but wanting a flat chest and short hair, I never feel like a girl, and then I’ll go through months feeling like a boy and like I want a boy’s body and short hair, I haven’t told anyone but there will be times when I try to look as masculine as I can, and just pray to be “misgendered” (by that I mean someone calling me a boy even though I am afab and everyone thinks I am a girl) just so that I can feel like me and not like I’m living as a different person, like I quantum leaped into someone else’s body at birth and I was just stuck there forever and have a constant feeling where I’ll look down and realize that everyone sees me as female and I’ll feel like my skin doesn’t actually fit, But I know that I’m not a boy because there are months that I don’t feel like a boy or a girl. Someone. Please. Help.

For boys out there, try not to focus too much on being buff. Girls don’t care too much about that. Sure it’s attractive, but if you’re kind, caring, funny, and understanding, you will be equally as attractive in a girl’s eyes.
