Alcohol is logical for it to be forbidden... the Quran basically states anything that is an intoxicant, not just alcoholic drinks... Now, carrion... blood and the flesh of swine are things that can carry various diseases and are harder to purify compared to other meals... The reason these were forbidden was that they were common practices in the world at that time... so why has not the Quran stated not to eat bear or tiger meat? Or not to drink sewage?
