Pretty amusing now that in 89 the year 2015 seemed significantly far enough for such a steep technological advance to take place...btw the loop of 'Power of Love' made this vid even that much more delightful.

Still think one of the reasons we don't have them is because we are too focused on other silly things when research and development into more practical uses.

Back in the early 90s, rumor was Mattel made some, but a kid died on one, so they pulled them from the market. Ah youth.

The mechanics don’t work. People can’t even balance on the 2 wheel hoverboards. Turns out, you need friction and giving regular people rocket power is not an option.

I have dreamed of having a hoverboard since I was a child...sigh... Always remember to be VERY careful if handling neodymium magnets! Thank you so much for watching!

They do exist but its black Ops for now. Who or whatever invaded that Puru village back in July , were on wide disc like hover biards , more like what the Green Goblin had in Spiderman.

But it must not be magnets, im pretty sure it has something to do with anti-gravity levitation. I mean the science behind hovervoards.

I always thought it was some zero point energy or ambient temperature superconductors that somehow interact with the Earth's magnetic field. It's fun to speculate! -Johnny

Yeah, but our smartphones alone are still more sophisticated than anyone in the 80s ever dreamed up about our future. Some technology has progressed faster than predicted, while other things (like flying cars) have lagged behind...but that makes sense. When you predict the future, you're going to get some things right and some things wrong. HG Wells is still the gold standard for accurate predictions about the future...his predictions were so uncanny, and so many came to be, that many have thought he must have been psychic! BTW I'm sure we'll get real hoverboards eventually. Now that AI is a thing, it can probably solve a lot of technology issues that had previously stumped inventors. The next 10-15 years is going to see CRAZY technological progress, even greater than what we've seen in the last 10-15 years.

if tesla could do it ..he made things hover in mid air..even a half ton of weight in a field generating tesla cube...and that old geezer with that flying pad he could hover on up in the air with...then why not us today? look up Viktor Grebennikov
