Having worked in a large corporation for 9 years, I can confirm that this is absolutely true. I observed a direct correlation between climbing the corporate ladder and investing time in social connections outside of work. When my schedule became busier, preventing me from participating in their after-work social events, I noticed a shift in how I was perceived. Despite this, I decided to venture out on my own, and today I am running my own small business. It might be modest in size, but it's entirely mine.

Yeah, and also fun. Money is not the the end goal of life, a lot of smart people know that and don't blindly chase that objective. If they can do something useful, fun, and pays enough to get by well, that is more than enough. I think that is the part he conveniently leaves out, the reason we see a lot of dumb people become rich is simply because a lot of smart people just don't care because they see money as a means to an end and not the end goal itself.

I don't think it's about being dumb specifically. I think it's more about personality and risk tolerance. Starting your own business is far riskier than having a safe salaried job that pays you every month for pressing the same buttons every day. Someone who is risk-averse, regardless of their intelligence, will most likely not even try that. And also, someone who doesn't get discouraged easily, someone hard working who is very determined to get their ideas to fruition, someone who can network with others, someone with charisma, someone who can persuade people to buy their products or services and/or invest in their idea... that's the person that will succeed in starting a business. An introvert whose hands start sweating the moment they even think of talking to someone, is way more likely to go for a safe job where they don't have to worry about any of that.

As a non american the bashing of higher education is very intriguing. Society needs scientists engineers and doctors to function. Most people around the world would be very happy to earn a low 6 figures 100 to 150K It seems as if everyone wants to be a multimillionaire or nothing.

That's why cheating in school can actually of greater value then studying hard. You need to cooperate to cheat. You need to assess who can help you cheat with what. Maybe you can help someone cheat with something and then ask them for a favor later.

After I was done with school, I looked back and was very surprised that I was not taught how the world actually works especially I was not taught how money works. The amazing thing in today's society is we have the world of information at our fingertips so we can educate ourselves in anything and everything we want. One thing I would like to point out, money does not create happiness. It generally creates comfort, but if you don't learn to be happy from within yourself, you will end up like most of the wealthy people and society just miserable with money. ❤ I wish everyone success on their journey through life.❤

Here's my thought, if you are a smart guy who watches this video, then u can be a mindless non-dumb person to get into the top 1%. The underlying factor is not the level of intelligence, but self-awareness. There are more "dumb" people living off the streets, sucking on meth, robbing and others. Meanwhile, there are also more "smart" people living a rich life, because they are well-aware on playing the right game at the right time.

Take calculated risks. Stay consistent. Learn from your mistakes so you can make the correct decisions to move forward. School stops us in our tracks with an "F".... it's not over, try again. I see people beat themselves up everyday over little stuff. They get frustrated because the chip/stripe on their credit card doesn't work accurately and they start breathing heavy.....who cares??? What i really want to see is that America adapts and can function WITHOUT this absurd factor that currently everyone has to be rich in order to Live.. We need living options for average, poor people. We can't have this current situation where everything is set at these insane prices even for the most BASIC living situation... This needs to change. There's nothing wrong with people wanting to get rich but we can't keep running our society with this across the board unaffordable dysfunctional system and just accept it as "This is how things has to be"

Later I started a business, so I could enjoy Surfing. It was the only way for me to move forward in life after how bad I messed up in school. I knew I would not make it in the workforce, and I'm not encouraing you to drop out. I'm just saying that it takes more than education to make it. It requires will power, and a force of nature.

Interesting viewpoint. I have noticed when wealthy public figures are interviewed, some are not particularly articulate, even struggle to string a coherent sentence together. Yet they have the financial acumen to build fortunes. They are immune to failure and don't ponder over it just rinse and repeat until something works. Hard work manipulation and a thick skin seem to be the attributes required.

Just don't opt out off a system by watching a 10 minutes youtube video. Smart people actually succeed . Those who don't go to schools or universities generally do not end up in good positions. Only a few do who have unique talent. This video does not tell about how much percentage of non schoolers/university students succeed in life. As far as RICH MILLIONARES/BILLIONARES are considered sure they were not geniuses but at the same time they were far above average in terms of intelligence and decision making. Ex- MUSK -He did manage to built SpaceX , Paypal, Bought Tesla from being bankcrupt , solar city ...etc . Any regular guy would not have been able to do that. Sure his parents were rich , but so were parents of many in 90s in USA. There are many names and they had all the advantages on their sides to succeed but the bottom liine is INTELLIGENCE and ACADEMIA is one of those advantages .
