I didn't mind the empty areas because this is a DLC. BUT the one area that I think really failed was the forbidden woods. Can't use Torrent? Fine, but pack it with enemies and secrets and loot to make the area worth exploring on foot. Instead we have few enemies, one enemy that the game hammers into you that you can't defeat (aging untouchables) but then allows you to parry and kill, removing the stealth mechanics needed to get through them. Just a missed opportunity imo.

I really enjoyed seeing a mostly positive review on the DLC. I personally loved every single moment except when fighting Gaius and Metyr. One other thing I didnt like was the stone coffin fissure because I hate those lazerbeam firing enemies. But besides those 3 things I loved this DLC and I do agree with you. I find the quality in the DLC to e a lot higher than it was in the base game.

Just watched your ”Walking video”, and its so funny (and sad) watching this Elden ring DLC video now, because Elden Ring is probably my favourite game of all time, and going into the DLC i completely stressed my way through the game just to ”finish it”, instead of soaking it all in. I then regretted doing that ofc, and wanted to play the DLC again. But ofc I first had to replay elden ring (which I did..), but also my second playthrough of the DLC was just not the same 😔 I made a misstanke and I couldnt take it back. But I have learned my lesson now. If you look forward to a game or enjoy/love a game, take your time with it. Dont just hurry up to play some other gsme simply because its on your list too. There are not that many 10/10 games out there. Amazing video once again btw 🙏

I agree Shadow was excellent. Fewer gaols and mini dungeons but those being unique is great. I wasn’t bothered by the finger areas being empty but the woods….that was frustrating. If they done it as a steep sided chasm you had to sneak through it would have been faster and more stressful to get to the excellent Midra house. Regarding boss fights, I think the gang was my favourite. Chaos. Then Bayle of course.

I am that person whos first soulslike game ever was elden ring.. and i start and finish this year with dlc included. @@TheeOddOrange Depending if Sony has changed how they handle game saves you might be able to do the same. If you have the PS4 vs of ER u might be able to use a USB stick to do a backup. If you have the PS5 vs then the only option would be to sub to their cloud game save service, disable auto uploads of your saves and manually do a backup of a save to the cloud when you are rdy to start a new DLC run. When you've completed the run re-download the manual save you uploaded and start again. This is what I did when I played Demons Souls Remake. I hope I explained that in a way that can be helpful. gluck

I think my only complain for the dlc is that some areas could have more new enemies. Cerulean Coast, Charo and Fissure are focused on the dead so i expected some new dead type of enemies but no. Reused skeletons and reskinned slimes. Jagged peak is a kind of a parallel to Farum Azula. So i expected some new dragon humanoids enemies. But no. Farum Azula Skeletons and electric slimes. I wouldn't have minded a reskin. Like the Shadow Militia or the Scadutree version of Ulcerated Tree Spirits. But i appreciate that they atleast cared enough that their placement fit into the area.

Serious criticism I had was how easy it is to miss gigantic swaths of content. I went in and did Lion and the first dragon, then to Ensis, then to Shadowkeep. I killed Mesmer. Wandered into Romina and killed her not realizing she is important, then burned the seal. I basically ended up on Radahn’s doorstep with 4 remembrance bosses killed. This shouldn’t happen. Loved the DLC but my first time through pissed me off by the end.

Better than the base game? I think there are parts that are but overall?... nah. There is MORE but compare the best bosses to the best dlc bosses of DS3 Midir, Gael, Sister Friede, Nameless King vs... Mesmmer, Midra and Bayle??? Ooof... And the levels vs Ringed City and Ariandel with what? Shadow Keep? 😶
@konstantinosmoschos10505 ай бұрын
Nah you tripin, other than maybe Gael, shadow of the erdtree has better bosses and Bayle outright outclasses midir. Not to mention the shadow keep is maybe the best lvl they ever made

@@konstantinosmoschos1050 Lets say Bayle beats Midir, Midra beats Nameless King, and Messmer beats Gael, DS3 still has Sister Friede. DS3 has more good bosses but you could make a case ER has the better bosses and I might not disagree. But levels??? SotE has Shadow Keep and everything else is pretty meh. Belurat and Midra's Manse aren't even close. My point is that the DS3 dlcs are a more focused package but maybe you could make the case that SotE is more bag for your buck. But id argue that its quantity over quality but that's just my opinion. You're entitled to yours

@@austin0_bandit05 i mean its an open world game so the dungeons isn't the only thing it offers so it can't really be a 1to1 comparison. Again to me as someone that played er and dlc defore ds3 and its dlc i found shadow of the erdtree much more enjoyable in almost every regard. Though i will say there was more downtime compared to the 2 ds3 dlcs, that in my opinion should have been 1 big dlc, cause the first 1 is way too small for its price tag. Lastly, well Frieda was worse to me than Rellana, only due to that really easy yet annoying second fase with her and Ariendel and also the annoying vanishing attack

Hate to be that guy but... Nameless King isn't DLC. Don't get me wrong, I do think Gael, Midir and Friede are better than Messmer, Bayle and Midra respectively, but it's not by a landslide in the slightest. If I were to rank them, I'd go for Gael Number 1, then Midir, then Messmer, then Bayle, then Friede, then Midra.
