And you get your electrolytes mainly from food. So, as you can imagine, not eating during fasting may create some problems in the electrolyte department. When electrolytes are deficient, your body starts sending emergency signals. You may feel confused, fatigued, have a headache, or always experience unpleasant cramps.
Recovering your electrolytes will not only make your body say “THANK YOU,” but it will make your fasting easier and more efficient. Yes, intermittent fasting can bring a bunch of benefits for your health and weight loss, but it still needs careful practice to not worsen your overall wellness. And it’s not a secret that one of the reasons people quit fasting is the discomfort that may occur. But you can get everything under control! Just remember this golden rule and repeat after us: electrolyte intake is the first step to success in your fasting weight loss journey.

My main question is sodium and potassium are easy cause there is salt and salt alternatives that have potassium. magnesium as long as you have a good supplement. But what about phosphorus?

@@jaythemachine3845You are fasting? Why would it be from food? Has to be from a packet of electrolytes! I’d say a couple packs a day spread out and drink more water and just black coffee to help with not eating

Hard to take electrolytes while fasting when you get diarrhoea within 10 minutes of taking electrolytes. Probably means I’m not absorbing the electrolytes then. Frustrating.

Don't take them all at once. Take a portion of your daily intake every couple of hours.

You do not mention the quantity of essential electrolytes to consume daily while water only fasting, why🤷🏼‍♀️?? Waste of time 👎🏻

@@Arvord I take 1/2 tsp of salt plus 1 tsp of potassium in the form of “No Salt” (a salt substitute available in grocery stores). If I water-only fast for more than two days, then I also take a magnesium capsule daily in addition to the salt and potassium. Just sharing, I’m not anyone’s doctor. (Personally, I had good experience with this practice. Even once water-only fasted for 10 days without problems.)

Just a good pinch of sea salt, with half a lime/lemon juice and a top up with water (not too much) and drink as a shot. Not at all salty, very refreshing, and a great electrolyte pick up. Add grated ginger if you like. I use this 3ish times a day when fasting. Use a straw! Protect your teeth.
