Pharmtechs work under supervision of Pharmacists. There are certain categories of medication they can not dispense. If a doctor prescribes something and it's in a more complicated scope, then the tech refers to the pharmacist.

Some pharmacists will substitute doctors prescription for a less efficacious cheap medication. It happened to me, when the pharmacist said the prescription drug is not available. I went back to the Doctor, who came and produced the drug, in the Pharmacy. Pharmacists should stop short changing patients.

This is a lie, doctors prescribe brand names,the Pharmacist gives the patient the active Pharmaceutical ingredient contained in the brand. In a Pharmacist angle the brand of a drug is not key. Important is the active Pharmaceutical ingredient.
