Eh, this lore effectively confirms that Exos are just copies of people, not 'people in robot bodies'. Because it just copies their mind, and creates a new mind in an Exo body. The fact that they can keep the image 'on file' basically and make more than one of a person confirms this. It's just a machine that 'thinks' it's the person it is based on.

We never know we are not the same as yesterday because we have the memories. Tomorrow's version will remember this conversation and think it is the "real" me because it remembers the feelings I had. I think some mental conditions cause people to fear sleep for that very reason.

I wonder if Clovis Bray's attempt at creating Exos resulted in the dark timeline that Exo Stranger comes from in D1 where the Darkness won and why she came back to our present to ask the Guardian to defeat the Vex in the Black Garden in hopes of preventing the dark future she was struggling to survive in. Maybe in Beyond Light, upon discovering the Deep Stone Crypt, she believes that destroying the portal to the Vex homeworld star system would end the threat of the Vex once and for all like a Terminator/Skynet prevention scenario.

[Spoiler] So in the new campaign Eramis tells one of her high ranking Fallen to "prepare the body" and also mentions "the crypt" we then kill her a little later and then after that one of her fallen generals (could be wrong on the rank) says they will revive Eramis. But we end up kill them before they can. This is where is gets interesting. Eramis is frozen and is not fully dead as her brain still can be scanned. What if she ends up being uploaded into a exo as a raid boss. This would fit the story so far as she was supposed to be revived but the darkness can't create.
