Your HJS cats are still illegal ...unless you get a C.A.R.B. certification on these cats..they are just as illegal as removing your factory cats and replacing them with a pipe

Thanks I was looking for CARB earlier to post and ask if theirs were CARB certified, otherwise no car with their sport cats on them will pass the physical inspection during SMOG testing, but you answered my question.

@@anotheryoutubeuser3891 as far as I can tell HJS does not have a C.A.R.B certificate on any of their cats...they are very expensive to get..I think the cost for this kind of certification is in the millions...HJS would need to sell a lot of cats to make it worth the investment

Illegal maybe in California. I haven't checked if they are carb certified. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't. These guys are amazing here.

@@skippynj1979 they are not CARB certified..therfore still illegal ..it takes millions of dollars and many years to get the required testing needed to get a CARB certification ...if can't get a smog certification I can't register my car with the DMV

@@johnperales5431 I see but that's only California. Companies have to weigh cost to get California testing done for how many they are doing to sell. Bi do allot of work in motorcycle world. Yes carb certification isn't easy, but not impossible.

Smh your cats aren’t even C.A.R.B certified.. therefore you are breaking the same laws with the EPA 🤡

A lot of newer cats have similar efficiency to stock ones but are much more freer flowing. Cobb for example is in the process of trying to get their GESI cats carb certified. I have an aftermarket GESI cat on my car, and I’ve had no CEL, and was still able to gain over 100hp over stock with an intake and a catback as well.

@@ThatWasherNerd yes? but they are STILL ILLEGAL ...without the C.A.R.B. certification HJS cats are useless.....I could never register my car and without registration I can't drive it on the street......they need to get C.A.R.B. certification...or these are just as illegal as removing your factory cats and replacing them with a straight pipe

3-way cats are needed and CARB EO for Cali, and many 200 cell cats will fail smog after 2-3 years of typical use. On a 800hp car, yeah, a straight pipe will make more power. On a turbocharged car, a straight pipe will definitely pick up power and response. The noise and drone isn't worth it though. Plus, be green and just live with the power. These days, your 800hp Superfast is slow when a K24 turbo build on E85 and AWD can do 9's, same with a GTS with some bolt ons, or someone in a Tesla Plaid pulls up. Just enjoy the car and sound with the cats because that extra 15hp catless won't matter.

While that is true for many lesser grade catalyst cores. HJS uses a proprietary design and wash coating and is European TUV-approved (stricter than CARB). Our cores are proven to meet or exceed the levels of catalyzation seen with a given OEM Exhaust. We certainly agree with your latter points, bypass pipes are a thing of the past. The technology behind high-flow catalysts, like HJS, allows you to gain all of the pros with none of the cons. (i.e. emissions failures, smell, minuscule flow difference, and environmental impact)

This marketing pitch is terrible. You should say "Our high flow cats will give you more power than those shitty stock cats you have on your 812, period." If you want to shame people with emissions, go talk to the owners of the 500 private jets that flew out of Vegas after the SuperBowl.

Not shaming anyone, we're stating a fact. Modern high flow cats perform to the level of, or exceed that of bypass pipes.

For everyone crapping on them for this video, keep in mind that by using cats that are just as efficient as stock cats, they are protecting and adapting for the future of tuning. Am I disappointed that the EPA is being so stringent? Yes, but we have to adapt to be able to tune our cars in the future

Any of these videos about how keeping cats don't affect power is 100% BS. The green excuse is bull shit as well. Cats increase back pressure in the manifolds/headers. On a turbo car when removed it will allow the car to spool faster and it will have less back pressure in the manifolds translating to more power and more power potential overall. On an NA car there is much less of an effect when removing them unless the engine is massive or revs extremely high like a 7.0L C6Z or 2.0L S2000. That said once aftermarket cams go in, you'll eventually melt your cats due to excess fuel in the exhaust at low engine speeds. The cats on any performance car will also degrade and melt, especially if you drive them hard all the time(that's why you smell rotten eggs when a car gets on it in front of you on the highway). We have made ZERO difference in our atmosphere with catalytic converters in the last 40 years. The only thing we did that had a measurable net positive impact on the atmospheric environment as a whole was the elimination of CFCs. One plane ride from NYC to LA spits out more C02 than the entirety of all of the F1 cars emissions through an ENTIRE SEASON. Numbers don't lie.
