The problem is that people as depicted in the video are not constrained by logic, facts and evidence, they can make up any version of the truth they want, so any logic is countered by nonsense masked as truth. If they can't think of a retort, there is always the "LIES/CONSPIRACY" response, which is apparently the ultimate answer to everything. This is why we need science, it drags us kicking and screaming towards the truth. Regarding the point in the video about horizons. If the Earth were flat, you wouldn't be able to see objects hundreds of miles away. Scattering of light by the atmosphere would reduce the contrast between the object and the atmosphere as the object recedes, so eventually the contrast of the object would be too low to see with our eyes.

I recently watched a video by a scientist, called on the internet professor Dave explains, and he made a video telling people the earth isn’t flat, he was responded by armies of “flat earthers” telling him he was wrong by telling him unchecked stuff, and he responded to a video made by that community debunking the video they made to try and debunk him, proving valid arguments, and showing when HE put good arguments up to them they just laughed it off and spouted a random equation or scientifically proven law that they didn’t go into at all.

There are a number of things flat-earthers cannot provide and the top two I can think of right off the bat are; 1. They cannot explain a solar or lunar eclipse using a flat-earth model with factual science (measurable and observable). 2. They have no working model of a flat earth that provides exact, measurable distances including all continents, countries and bodies of water in between. They can't. This has already been proven, yet they seem to think a spherical earth is some sort of conspiracy theory despite the overwhelming evidence otherwise.

You can prove without physics. You just need geometry and motion. Eclipses are created by a spacial body’s shadow being projected onto another. If the sun and moon are the same size and distance from the earth, a solar eclipse physically couldn’t happen yet it does. This in itself proves it but you can go further. How could the earth get between the moon and sun to make a lunar eclipse? If the earth is a disc, almost every eclipse shadow would be a warped circle or thin line, yet every shadow’s been a perfect circle (almost like a sphere would make, weird)? These are easy questions that can’t be answered by flat earthers because flat earth doesn’t work

The obstinacy of a true believing flat earther lays in the same mindset as the faithful in a religious cult. I was raised in such a cultic environment and I walked away from that belief system as a young man because of the responses to honest questions I had about the history, teachings and doctrines of the cult along with the disparagement and character assassination I was subjected to for just asking a sincere question. No amount of logic or independently verifiable history and facts would dissuade these folks from taking an honest and objective look at what they’d be taught, or perhaps better said, in that which they’d been indoctrinated. In their minds eye, the unbelief of “the world”, those that weren’t members of the cult, was because they’d been deceived and that actively contended against the cult’s truth were lovers of deception andagents of evil. It was a real “us vs them” mentality. Devoted flat earthers are cut from the same cloth. The more aggressive responses, that I received in my youth from the cult, taught me that I was threatening their entire world view by virtue of just humbly asking a question. Cognitive dissonance can be found in many places.
