Why Full Manual Controls Won't Work in EAFC 24

Hey guys,
Today we are discussing whether or not full manual controls can work in EAFC 24. In my opinion, they won't fix the biggest problems at hand, nor will they actually make the game better. I believe that full manual controls will only work in very specific and easy situations, and will cause more of a blurred line between the actions of a user and the stats of a player. If the game were to go more manual, that's one thing, but going full manual is a different story.

Assisted controls assist every aspect of the game.. Power, direction, contextual curve (even without curve button enabled), switching. The settings in the game even state that assisted passes AVOID opponents, you can't get much more assistance than that. As for stats, it is more than doable to play good passes with even 1 star teams. Me and my manual pro club team mates played a 1 star tournament recently and it was fine. The videos of some of the matches are on my channel so you can see for yourself. We have won about 30 division 1 titles in pro clubs as a manual club also. It is a much more rewarding way to play the game and even comes with some perks, as in different ways of scoring (not just the shoot button).

Your point about scoring and passing when the actual person holding the control hasn’t made a mistake is perfect. Striker or CB if I shoot a normal shot and aim it correctly it should score. Don’t even get me started on 5 yard passes. Player stats from 1-99 should be purely physical. I.e pace, strength, agility, jumping etc Technical stats should be replaced with tiered traits like in FC24 but more comprehensive and reliable and should cover actual scenarios in game i.e defensive heading, Tier 1,2 & 3. Where actual human player timing is equal, physical stats and tiered traits will determine the outcome between two players on the pitch. A 6ft 5 strong and aggressive CB with defensive heading tier 3 who hasn’t made a clear error in play will NEVER lose a header to a 5ft3 winger with poor power stats.

Applaud you for making this video, I like and subscribe just on this kind of content. And by that I mean you’re not opening packs, talking about the best meta this or that, or hawking coin sellers. That being said in the example with Sanchez not running into the acres of space. That’s actually good AI and the player with the ball is what changed his decision. The ball player is running to the same space, if he did that he’d bring a defender with him so instead he took the width leaving the space for the man with the ball. I played long enough to notice that precision shooting really makes interesting goals and opens up new possibilities. Semi or manual passing though, no way in this ridiculous state of game, non-assisted passing not only needs correct direction but needs correct power as well. Impossible to achieve with middle is this much choked and impossible to pull out in consistent manner. I still use precision shooting, because it stops me trying to score impossible angles that I can at least try with assisted.

Maunual Controls are too difficult for 99% of people. But fc/fifa Manual Controls is the most Realistic sports simulation ive ever played. So it's biggest impact is the complete change of the experience. Point in a direction and press X or ⬜ and you complete a pass. That is opposite of Manual Controls. So all passes and shots are treated with much more care and are much more respected by your opponents because they know how difficult the shot/pass was. The people that play Manual are a close community. If you meet someone who plays Assisted, you forgot them before the game is over. If you meet someone who plays Manual, you still know them 10 years later and im speaking from experience. It's not for everyone bro.

I play manual on FC24 seasons as single player. Unfortunatley the matchup is broken and often I get matched up against assisted/semi assisted or players who have no clue how to play manual. Very very rarely do I get a solid manual player.

You forgot a thing, manual passing inputs need to be noticeably longer than assisted inputs, especially in and around the box. In assisted controls, a simple tap of pass button is enough for even 15-20 yards short passes but on manual, it takes slightly longer, like a couple of hundred milliseconds. This can worsen the already delayed and inconsistent gameplay that we get in most of our games. Because even such slight additional delay to the player's expected action is enough in already poorly responsive gameplay to significantly affect the experience. This balances out on both players sides if they are both on manual controls, yes, but I think we can agree that it worsens the gameplay experience in tight situations. Like you said, manual controls can theoretically increase skill gap and bypass a couple of issues, but doesn't really solve anything or mean better experience for players in current state of the game, with the fundamental problems it is plagued with. In fact, it can cause new problems.

ONCE in my life since the start of this game, like actually one match, i had a GOOD GAMEPLAY and it was like my ping was 0 like i was playing squad battles. My players did everything instantly, instant turns, good touches etc. I instantly thought, we are actually suffering daily from the gameplay, when it can actually feel good but we still deal with delayed inputs, inconsistent gameplay. I dont think i had any internet boosts just for that specific match so i have no idea why we have to play with this deep code error type of thing, i guess they cant fix it or improve servers or whatever mistake i have no knowledge talk much about

My idea about fc 24 is I don’t think is that the animations are bad but they need to categorise them and implement these animations to the worst player at something to the best player at something, then they would need to remove dda as it’s just stupid and makes the game un fun and they need to improve more on the inputs so it can work, this game has been horrible

The controvertial opinion - If you want to make game more realistic, just get rid of stats in some way, and stick more towards playstyles Just leave the crucial stats, that couldnt be determine by aiming like pace, def stats, physicality etc. - delete finishing, pass stats and stick more to the "AI" stats Then passes and shots would only be depending where you gonna aim, all depends how skilled player is If positioning, ability to make creative runs in attack, marking players would be determine by stats it would make much more sense [even tho now we see "Att positioning", its not doing much tbf xD ] With well working playstyles this can help so much, without needing the stats point Just like you show with that Tomiyasu scenario - if he would have something like Long Ball Pass and you would aim correctly, then by this playstyle your pass should deliver all the time Without the playstyle it shouldnt be consistent - sometimes you gonna hit it, sometimes you not Add some other playstyles for Long shots, driven shots etc. and it would look great Seeing pros in tournaments with manual settings would be so fun to watch and it would show who is aiming the best out of them - the skill gap would be there Overall manual settings should work by the rule "High risk, high reward" But just like you said, with thats sheeeeet gameplay, with AI of the players being low AF, with cheaters on PC being everywhere this cannot be done...

Who even takes this game serious? It's not like we had a fifa game that wasn't scripted in the last 10 years. You can talk "improving gameplay" how much you want, it's not like it will matter when the games result is predetermined.
