Golfing the Villages is an independent KZbin golf channel dedicated to bringing you all the golf related content from The Villages located in Florida. The Villages is a 55+ active senior retirement community located in central Florida. We are located about an hour away north of Orlando, and about and hour and a half north east from Tampa Bay.
In this video, I'm sharing why golfers are flocking to Escambia Executive Golf Course The Villages Florida 2023, quite simply put it's the pure perfect greens. This golf course is unique for a few reasons- first of all, it's one of the best executive golf courses in the area. Secondly, it's got a great atmosphere and the views are fantastic. If you are a Villager the Price is unbeatable because it's totally free. This particular video is an on course golf vlog which was filmed and played on September 24, 2023 at Escambia Executive Golf Course. This executive course features three separate teeing locations and we played from the middle gold tees. Escambia is a level 3 golf course as rated on The Villages executive rating scale and even par is 27 strokes. Nevertheless, sit back, relax and enjoy the sights, sounds, and people who all call this gorgeous place of The Villages home.

Another nice VLOG 👍🏻 I too think I may have figured something out with my putting. I shot a 38 on the front-9 yesterday … with a double bogie (3-putt) on #9 🙄 But I drained FIVE one putts. It was my last round up north. Headed to our home in the Villages, Newell, on Saturday. Can’t wait. It was 46 degrees when we teed off yesterday morning (had a frost delay) 🥶 Never got above 55 Really looking forward to my first Winter “golfing the Villages” Keep up the good work. Oh I love hearing that you sorted the putter out, it gives us all hope. Congrats on the 38 that is you golfing your ball and in such cold weather, very impressive. Whew temps like that remind me of why I moved to Florida, well we can't wait until you return. We are currently sitting on the lanai to chilly 72 degrees and clear blue skies, we may crack 83 for the high today. Travel safe and we will see you when you get here.

Putting was killing my game until two weeks ago. I took a clinic from Joey at Sarasota, and he told us distance was more important than direction. If your direction is off on the put, so be it. Don't mess up the distance. Every hole par starts with 2 puts, then works backwards to the tees. So, the first put should be so close that the second put can't be missed. Obviously aim should be to get it in. He then showed the four of us a mathematical equation for putting distance. It's made the biggest difference, bringing consistency to my putting. Highly recommend the clinic.

Thank You so much, I was just trying to keep pace with you. I think the putter setup was getting me. I was trying to keep the grip more in my lap and with that putter it just naturally opened the face, so I had to go back to a little higher hands setup to get the putting line to roll straight again, but now I need to get the speed control back from that high hands setup. It's always something with Golf, am I right?

Thank you for watching and yes this is a special place. Typically a golf school or a group clinic will be more budget friendly as opposed to the one on one pricing typically offered in golf instruction. However most of the instruction locations have various packages and promotions they run from time to time and you will have to check with them. I am a former student of GolfTec in Fort Worth and a large package broken down would cost $30-$40 a lesson. However the nearest location to TV is in Orlando. Then you have The Villages Golf Academy of which I have gone 3 times in the last year and a half with one lesson pending. I purchased a individual lesson to get a feel for the coach and a 3 pack summer special which gave me three 30 minute lessons for $30 dollars or so. Outside and around The Villages you have Oxford Golf Academy which I have visited but didn't have the chance to take a lesson. Also the Lady Lake Driving Range has instruction of which I also haven't tried out. This comment has given me an idea for a video, kudos to you Sir. Thank You. Thank You so much for watching and providing wonderful comments. I try to get a little bit better every day. Yes, I do have tons of favorites and it is hard to list them all. Max Homa for me is near the top. However there are so many I am so fond of an adore that may or may not make other peoples lists. Guys like Charles Howell III, Harry Higgs, Tom Hoge, Erik Van Rooyen, Maverick McNealy, Ben Griffin, Patton Kizzire, so many great guys. I have had the pleasure of seeing many of them up close at the now Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club. How about you who are you favorite PGA golfers?

What a best course at village. What I’ve seen on videos are little rough. Do you play full 18 holes or executive 9

What each golfer values as "best" varies from golfer to golfer. The truth is right now some courses are in perfect shape and others are in bad shape. The video you commented on here was during a time when the Escambia Greens were in great shape and rolling pure (I think still the case today). In the last 2 months some of the older greens on some older courses have been lost due to excessive winter moisture and root rot/fungus. My recent video Course Closed at Redfish run shows the condition of a course they closed for maintenance a day or so after we played. I personally play everything from the 18 Hole championship, 9 hole executives, 18 hole pitch and putts, and even the putting courses. However I tend to break up championship courses to just 9 hole vlogs to keep the videos short and easier for people to watch.

I enjoy the videos. ( not sure why😂). I heard some courses are private and a little more expensive and better shape. Is this true? And the executive course are included.

I'm glad you enjoy them. So Championship Courses are open top the public as well as Villagers. They all have an additional fee associated with playing them depending on time of year and time of day you want to play. Executive courses and the Pitch and putts are open only to Villages residents and the occasional guest with required pass. I guess you could consider the executives as semi-private. Executive courses don't cost anything additional to play, it's all covered under your Villager amenity fee. There is a yearly trial pass fee which allows you to use your personal golf cart on the executive courses. The trail pass is $135 for an entire year, $101 for 6 months and $21 for a month. If you don't have the trail fee, I think they are charging $1 the day of play to use your own cart, but I'm not sure if the price has changed. You can always walk the course for free.
