I saw all the movies before reading any of the books (my daughter was a huge fan of the books). The 1st movie will always have the charm of being the first introduction to the characters and the world, but Phoenix, and Half-blood were always my favorite movies. Years later I read the books... Phoenix and Half-blood are my favorite books as well.

Hi Jon. Really well made video and I really like the music you used. I agree that the felix felicis scene was well done although I much prefer the scene in the book. It cut a lot of what Harry said to Slughorn which was really powerful and replaced it with the fish story, which was good but not nearly as powerful or as impactful as it is in the book in my opinion. I disagree with most of your points in the video though hehe! Overall I think Order of the Phoenix is the best film in the series. I have so much to say so I think I'll reply to your post on Reddit to go into more detail.

If you just watched the movies I could see this movie shining and I'd tend to agree with you that it does well in what it was intended to achieve. It's only when it's juxtaposed with the book that it falls short because of the amazing information dump you got in HBP. I'm hopeful the TV series will delve into Voldemort's backstory as I find it to be some of the most fascinating parts of the series. That being said, GoF is my favorite movie and it certainly differs a lot from the book so the source material, for me, isn't everything when evaluating them. I'd say my movie rankings from best to not-best would be 4, 7(2), 3, 7(1), 6, 5, 1, 2.
