Hi there! my leopard gecko has stopped eating for a couple of months now. about july she stopped eating and would only eat a couple of small mealworms once a week. She gotten very week and ive been trying to feed her but nothing has worked. her arms are swollen, she has very low energy, and she scoots instead of walks. I think this is because she hasnt been getting calcium. she started shedding and the last 2 sheds have been really bad. shes also gotten really small like her tail is thin. Ive looked and looked on what it could be still she wont eat. leopard gecko vets are VERY expensive and i dont want her to die. I just wanted to know if you have any tips. if you need more info i can give you my email or smth. thank you!

@jeannebrislis Hello, from reading your comment, my first bit of advice would be to seek help from an exotic animal vet to give the best possible chance of recovery. As far as calcium, you can leave a small bowl with pure calcium in it, and they are known to top up if they need to. Another way is that some reptile shops sell a liquid form of calcium, which can be used for an emergency top-up. As for the original problem of not eating, is the gecko still going to the toilet fine ???? Hope this helps

​@southcoastreptiles498 once she stopped eating she stopped pooping. i saw your video about the warm bath and going to try it. because of her shed i remembered she had a humidifier that we hadnt used in about a year so i turned it on and left it on for about an hour. she came out for a while. i did again not to long ago and when i went to turn it off i saw she had gone to the restroom and her poop was large and dark in color. she looked a little happier when i looked at her so im going to see how shes doing the next couple of days. thank you sooo much. ive looked everywhere and this is the first time ive seen some improvement!!

@jeannebrislis hello thats good news. As far as feeding, if she is still refusing, the main thing is to try a variety of prey items. But i do wish you both all the best going forward

My geko not been eating last week and half ish normally feed her crikets everyother day but she stopped she poos normal and she gets out and sunbaths I call it but I try and feed she just looks at it and walks and hide away

Some times they can go on hunger strikes best thing to do is to monitor their weight but a healthy gecko should be able to go several weeks without food. 🦗😊 other option is to try different feeder insects if they are available.
