I am always so impressed by how respectful you are to the items left behind. It seemed as though there were some rooms that someone had been in before and staged for filming. But all in all, that must have been a beautiful place at some time! Also, I agree it must have been a care home for elderly people at some point. Thanks so much for another brilliant explore!

@@screwthecabal6453 Think of uber rich people today - and there you have it. They were no different in their ways, only technology wasn't as advanced, but they had everything and anything they wanted plus money to spare and the same political views as the super rich do nowadays. It's been staged by the owner/s in an effort to sell and hasn't sold so either it is still a part of the family estate or now belongs to the French government. The French put so much tax on the rich at one time that they drove families like this into the ground. 60 to 70% tax at one point in time ! If you didn't have the knowledge to set up an offshore trust then you lost everything. Imagine earning 100 quid and handing over 70 quid in tax to the govmt ! AND being taxed on the CURRENT value of your real estate, rather than the price at which you bought it 50 to 60 years ago ..... The French are the worst at scaring their rich OUT of France and haemorrhaging their national wealth, leaving almost nothing in private hands anymore. THEN you have to think about inheritance taxes in France !!! There also; if you inherit a mansion like this, the state swoops in and rifles through the whole lot and takes more than 50% at one moment in time (late 90's early 2000's). So NOBODY in their right mind would want to pay tax on what the French govmt decided it was worth, because it's not market value (unless the market is going up ...) but what the govmnt decided ... No wonder so many wealthy French families in the know set up offshore trusts to manage their wealth. In the end nobody is a winner. The uber rich continue to live in France but pay no (or very little) tax thanks to bogus financial set ups, and the state counts on taxing the poor to make up for it all ... A great system ! Now you understand why the rich get richer and the poor (who pay for the rich) get poorer. Looks like they held on to it as long as possible by renting out space/floors/rooms to the elderly and finally had to shut the place down when the State came to make them leave because that's the way it happens with the bailiffs. They turn up early one morning and cart you off. Not the elderly people's fault either; probably the owner who couldn't face the financial burden of the State anymore. This place is most probably listed for sale.

Absolutely amazing property. Seeing some of the items left, it's clear that there's a huge mixture of decacades of things. But some of the mansions structure and fixtures say and tell a different story. The attic originally was probably for the staff working there. One thing that did stand out was that many items looked very masculine. The only female clue was the hat on the made bed! It really upset me to see all of those photos just gathering dust, they are someones family. But it was odd to see so many photos that had been left out. I wish I could have a lottery win, it would be amazing to restore the manor to an authentic and high standard. It's a beautiful place to raise a family or it would make a stunning restaurant and hotel. I hope (If I don't have a lottery win soon!) that someone buts and restores this as soon as possible before any more damage is done. It will be a big undertaking but will be much worse if left much longer.

When I see the stair lift outside in was at the top so it could be possible the person who used it was maybe carried out so the person may have had a emergency hence the food and drinks left and was carried out never to return.

I startedwatching your Videos about two weeks ago and i must say I am impressed. However i have been waitng for a new video to share a little something with you. Quite often you are unable to get an estimated date for the building you are exploring due to a lack of calenders and other dating evidence, but in several videos where this has happened you have actually ignored a bit of a clue. Let me explain. I am a numismatist and I hate seeing coins and Tokens left lying abandoned but if there is a lack of dating evidence and the coins are currently circulating then check a few to get a rough idea.
