I use the core, like you said it’s a big piece of kit, I had mine a few months now and the ease of use is great, love the double switching it now does, not keen on all the preset stuff, but like any you have to make it your own, I did a acoustic set today, sounded amazing, for the price great piece of kit

Love Headrush and updated from the Pedal Board to Prime. I have CPU issues with Prime and it will cut out for about 10 seconds, so thinking of getting rid of it. I ordered Sheeran Looper to see if I like that better for live gigs.

Yo, have you tried the vocal effects? I'd love to see a few rig setup guides for acoustic + vocals and electric + vocals. I'd also love to see how you might use the multitrack functionality live? Would you use it for filling gaps or providing extra flavor on songs that have ear candy in the recording that wouldn't normally be achievable live? Is that asking too much of the unit?

Today’s era of guitar players , WE are so spoiled. Heck I remember the days when I had to haul two Marshall 4x12 cabs and three FEET tall rack space loaded with heavy power amp and processors and yes I did it all myself from rehearsals to gigs. Well I was a lot younger then. You’re killin me Steve So heaving a HeadRush, Helix, AXfX, Kemper etc… IS A LUXURY with a buffet of convenience..

I have the prime Steve and agree on the size, need for an editor, and yes I had to get a 3rd party case that’s a little bigger ( soft ) if you can believe it. But, I think my bigger concern is not enough support from the vendor.. infrequently updated. The core wasn’t available when I purchased the prime.. that would have been better. But lack of editor and support are my biggest concerns. With all that said you get a hell of a lot of functionality for the price.

As for the podcast, I'd love to see content on how to really use old tech. I know people who use older units live and NOBODY ever notices but in recording situations it would definitely matter.

Thank you for pointing out the problems caused by the lack of an editor. It seems like something that could be added fairly readily, but HR seems to only listen to the people who don’t want to connect a computer on the floor to a computer on a desk. Sooner or later some manufacturer will figure out they should separate the screen from the footswitches so we can have the settings in reach with only the foot controls on the floor. Regarding size, it is quite a bit smaller than my Katana Artist (and a lot of pro pedalboards, much less the amps), and the button spacing on alot of smaller units is harder to use, so in my mind it’s not a big deal. If you like IRs, having an accessible folder system is very useful-on my friend’s Tonemaster Pro, all IRs had to be dumped in one location, which would be a non-starter for most aftermarket IR packs.
@MetalStormGames
@MetalStormGames 3 ай бұрын
the fact everything is done on the unit itself with the screen and I can make all adjustments away from home while jamming is the main reason i did buy the prime over a helix and other options.

the size points are spot on though, I use my prime at home and have an mx5 i lug around for practices. I only take the prime out for gigs because its such a nuisance to haul to band practice and back.

Just grabbed a Core and thought I'd find info here, was disappinted when I saw nothing lol. I dont care about a desk top editor for myself. Have nothing but tube amps and pedal boards so seemed like this would be the easier for me to dive into, only had a few days and have a headrush 108 frfr and wil run direct. Will clone my EVH 2x12 6l6 combo ,, still trying just stock sounds and trying to edit stuff,, so far all sounds so nasally or fake, I know its just me and have alot to learn , I gig out quite often and really want to be able to incorporate in to my shows when I dont want to drag my main rigs around. Lookinfg forward to more Headrush content from you maybe more intro info into these for us guys just getting into modelers? Yes there is plenty of content out there bur still would love to see it from you as really like the way you explain things.

Delete all stock rigs. Get yourself your favorite amp clones from the Headrush cloud. Create your own rigs and you'll be pretty happy with the results. I highly recommend putting a compressor in the beginning and end of the chain and also place a ten freq eq between your amp and cab OR at the very end of the chain. Also, always check your OUT param in the rigs because you don't wanna be clipping with your dialed rig. Great tip for tube lovers is to use the Budda Samsara Delay, Again Delay or Analog Delay in the Headrush as it really brings out the tone, the lower your MIX % is. Cheers!

I've used these Headrush units for the last 5 years since the first gen and it does indeed take some time to actually understand how to get the best tone possible out of it that matches the context your looking for in your playing as well. There are so many parameters and options to choose from. I've got a lot of helpful tips if you need help, I also run the same setup with 2x frfrs.

You can get some good tones out of this unit. My complaint is how much you actually have to do to get something g useful though. It’s a lot of preset tweaking on this unit. More than others I’d say. I have the kemper player also and that blows this out of the water

In no way shape or form is this better than a helix. I had the core and can say the headrush stuff sounds the most digital and has weird digital artifacts in its tones. I have the helix and this is nowhere near the sound quality and I can make a great sounding patch on the helix in three minutes. Headrush …. Well all I found myself ever doing was constant preset tweaking. Never was satisfied and could t ever get rid of those digital artifacts in the sound

You are not alone....strange that the YT influencer bubble widely ignores the Headrush Prime in their comparisons after their initial praises. Maybe they had to send it back ? I used a lot of stuff, tube amps, pedals and modelers including the Kemper.... and the Prime is a fantastic unit for me as a gigging musician. Speaking about the intuitive UI of the TMP without mentioning Headrush who invented this ? Maybe Headrush shouldn't have rolled out the unit with "in the mix usable" factory presets, which actually convinced me, but do not sound not as impressing for home noodlers (no offense, i love that too) as many reverb and delay blown up factory prests of others at first glance. (Ever listend to isolated guitar tracks of famous songs ?). Maybe it's regarded more as a toy and not a serious modeler due to its many additional features like the practising tool and the vocs processing ? I don´t want to say that the Prime is "the best" of all modelers. "The best" is a strange discussion anyway, not only on modelers. Be happy with whatever makes you happy ! But I definately consider the Prime as top league in the range of Kemper, Neural, Fractal, ToneX (...not an all in solution anyway) and the Helix. I just don't understand why poeple who earn their money by recommending guitar stuff to the interested community, ignore one of the top solutions when they compare these units.

Hi, have you used amp cloning after the 3.1.1 firmware? Does it still have latency issues. I’m a bit worried and surprisingly I can’t find almost any information about it on the internet. And from what i’ve heard, people not only complain about the factory presets, but the overall modelling quality of the pedals and amps individually.

@@JamesFlorio-ti8gcI had the Helix and Headrush Prime at the same time. I made my basic Vox tone in both. The next week, the sound guy and my bass player on a regular gig asked what I did to make my tone sound better. In the modern era, it's flatly embarrassing to make such specious claims that one modeler sounds objectively worse than another. They're all damn near the same territory modeling the same amps. And if you're using them to load clones or IRs, then it's even less of a difference in tonal quality.
@JamesFlorio-ti8gc

@@DKinMN the only Amp in the Headrush any of us have ever heard or use that decent is the Engle because it's the newest model in it which was about 2.5 years ago I think. Far as clones go from our experience that particular model just sounds better than any clone we tried. There are 4 channels of the Engle in it and with proper IR they sound great, problem is under the fingers they feel like cardboard lol. I honestly think with proper updates and a few new amps and maybe some tech tweaking to the entire cloning process it could be a killer unit. Just compared to everything else it's going to be really late to the party . I personally love all the headrush so I actually wish they would do something to improve it until then figures we will be buying and playing all the others that do have what we ask for
