The Biggest reason headrush prime doesn't get attention is because headrush is notorious for not supporting their products with regular updates they get maybe a handful during their entire product life compared to line 6 fractal and neural dsp doing atleast a few updates a year its the same reason the Boss multi effects and modeling isn't as big too imho

I love the Headrush, got the prime first but directly switched to the core when it came out since I also didn’t like the prime form factor. It is my „Livingroom rig“ I’m a young dad so I usually can only play when everyone else in the house is sleeping 🙈 I use own IR‘s in that thing and love the practice tool feature since all I do is play along my 2000‘s metal teen times music 😂 I also own an axe fx III with a power amp and a boutique FRFR cab this i consider my main rig but the Headrush is the smaller livingroom by night compromise and I didn’t yet feel it’s lacking anything I need. After direct comparisons I would take my Headrush core over quad cortex and fender tone master pro anytime again.

I love my Headrush Prime, I agree it’s very big and heavy and cumbersome in that regard. It’s capturing is considered by many to be the best and while I come from the plugin world, I’ve used it to capture presets and plugins I have it sounds extremely close if not identical and in a few instances is was off in a preferential way. Like many will say updates are scarce but never buy anything on the promise of added functionality but on the function that it comes with, and it has unlimited potential, the best UI in the game. I have not personally encountered issues software or physically. A physical editor would be very useful. I think their thought process was “well we have an incredibly intuitive user interface that a editor would be redundant” except that would require us to either hunch over to the floor or have a separate desk for the unit. I would still recommend either device whole heartedly as it punches well above its weight compared to the competitors that charge 1.5x as much. I think if the HRc/p was a smash success and had a much larger development team I think we would see a lot of the requested features. They also lack having a very notable artist roster (no disrespect to those who are on the roster) to attract people in. I think KZbin and word of mouth are the only things really keeping this device in any sort of shape in the market. Which is truly unfortunate

@TaylorDanley Great Video! Would love to see more videos from you using this unit and giving more insight! One question. After using so many guitar multi-effect units, where do you put HR Core? I'm so confused between Core, Ampero II Stage, Helix LT, etc. Thanks in advance!
@poorbrokeguitarist8 ай бұрын
I bought the core when it came out. I honestly felt like it was pretty good and had pretty good tone however I found it severely lacking when compared the Helix floor. I do like the ability to download captures via wifi. I got a killer Purple nightmare capture as soon as I got it. That was awesome. I still like the Helix amp models better especially the nuanced tone that respond nicely to picking intensity.

Hi folks! I got one and the reason that a combo (tonex + hx effects) is now my giging pedalboard is because headrush sounds great but doesn't feel like you are playing with amps. Effects too.. delays are muddy. It is funny because when you record a headrush it sounds nice but live.. to plain. Cheers!

For me personally, the Headrush prime (core) has been removed from potential purchase options because of non-existent PC editor. I just dont want to get an extra desk to put it on so I don't have to bend down to it when I dial the patches. And if they have app for android/IOS, well good for them. But it's still less convenient than using PC IMHO. Also I don't need cloning since I don't use very special amps in my pathes, all I need is boost, amp model of Mark IV and/or JCM800 and my own IR and most of the modellers can do these amps.

I own an MX5. I love it and think it hangs in there with any other mid range price modelers. The prime should be even better. The slow releases (I'm a beta tester and it's slooooow) and lack of a PC editor are major cons for most people.
@timothyappling91726 ай бұрын
I've had the MX5 for 9 months. I bought it because it was one of the cheapest units on the market and has a great touchscreen user interface. It's great for playing around the house and I've used it at band practice and a couple of small gigs with the 108 FRFR speaker. I have also been experimenting using it with my tube amps. I have always been a tube amp and pedal guy. I think if HeadRush would release small updates on a regular basis instead of waiting a year to put out a big update, customers would be a lot happier with their support. I'm waiting to see what happens before I think about upgrading to the Prime or Core. I can see the larger screen being a major plus over my MX5 and the competition. The HeadRush UI is second to none in my opinion. A PC editor along with regular updates would bring HeadRush to the front of the class.

@@TaylorDanley idk about turning the knobs too much on nam. I know that it seems fairly extreme when you do. Really I just try to find an amp that’s already set fairly close to what I’m looking for. So I end up with 2 instances of nam in my signal chain but the second one has my cab on it for obvious reasons. I highly suggest this particular signal chain. It does some really cool stuff on the low end. Adding that pa50 in the signal just takes the whole thing up 10 notches. I guess it’s worth noting, I’m using Duncan JB pickups. My blackouts seem a bit muddy on this signal chain. But also they are muddier on my real amps too. This signal chain really has me considering selling my tube amps and purchasing a pa50 and a ceres. Also I play in drop A down to drop D1 and the Vesta with Hera does it amazingly! I play mostly blackened deathcore type stuff and it is a very tight tone with much more low end than the Ceres. I kept the bass on the Ceres and Eros dimed and still wasn’t enough for me. Dont get me wrong the Ceres is an awesome pedal but I gravitated towards the Vesta instantly. I use the headrush core live and in the studio! It became my main board! It sounds awesome! I've played Diezel and Hughes & Kettner amps and a Kemper and Axe fx but the headrush is the best for me!!!

I really like my Prime & yes, I want more vids and content for HR products. For me, it's ease of use and user friendly that pushed the HR over other stuff. The built in presents are kind of meh (or just plain suck), but there are some good rigs that are available for free or cheap. It is a bit futsty to dial in your tone, but once you have it, it is more than passible. I am not nearly smart enough, talented enough, or snob enough to be overly finnicky about exact match- but that's just me

I don't understand why amp capture is even a thing. If you have the circuit schematic for an amp, that's all you need to simulate how it behaves. If you've ever tinkered with a circuit simulator and put an amp circuit in it, you can see how the capacitor, resistor, and potentiometer values influence the signal from the guitar. So it mystifies me why they put that in these devices other than some marketing bullet point to sell more product. If you simulate the circuit, you simulate the amp.

I had the QC before buying the Headrush Core 6 months ago and guess what?? I sold the QC 2 months later. Love the Core🔥🔥but stock sounds not a fan of it. Go to the cloud to get bad ass tone then you dial them in to your like😎

loads of good stuff on there, downloaded hundreds of rigs and still working my way through them. search CB, he makes good stuff and mine is probably not the best, but if you search RED- all of mine will load.

I wanted a core , but I just can’t justify moving from my Boss GT 1000 core to it. Mostly due to lack of a pc editor.
@brettphillips23098 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t do it. The gt 1000 is one of my favorite modelers all time. I have the core and I wouldn’t take it over the gt 1000.

Just follow Leon Todd, he has a new Fractal video like every week or so. They also release SO MANY firmware updates that are quality improvements, that they need someone like him to cover it all just so us regular folks can keep up.

Because the MX5 is cheaper and most people don't want to pay for a mic XLR input to run a paid AutoTune through. The Profiling is nothing to scream from the top of mountains for. The MX5 is awesome for what it does at it's price point, the PRIME is not. For the money I would get a Fractal FM3 or pay more for an FM9

I thought that headrush is unfair underrated.... I use mx5 and completely happy with it , but then I bought pedalboard and after one week motherboard just died. It’s called ROD, a lot of users got it and headrush don’t care about it.... it’s sad...

I have the original version of the pedalboard which I purchased about three years ago. They ceased any kind of updating soon after and still no desktop UI. Amp models do NOT provide decent metal tones. Very useful and quality sounds and effects but for chugs, I go to my Neural plugins
@TaylorDanley8 ай бұрын
I’m not a fan of the built in amps really either. Even with the update of the revolver amps, I just don’t think they sound great for my use… but that being said the clones are excellent, and I can forgive the built in amps since I can just clone my favorites anyways
@TaylorDanley8 ай бұрын
Also, I do think it’s weird there’s no desktop editor. I think a lot of companies don’t don’t fully understand how a lot of players use their gear.

Why isn't the Valeton GP-200 more popular?

Well, I bought the $1000 Headrush Looperboard. They supported it for 2 years. I have zero trust in the company. Their fault, not mine.
@TheoreticalLimit8 ай бұрын
Mine (the First version) died from the notorious rainbow of death. The support was terrible (Non existent). So I'll never buy again a headrush product. Once I have the money, I'll buy a Fractal or a Quad Cortex. Seems far more reliable and serious.

These units miss the mark for me in both units. The prime is huge and the core, while it seems to be the right size has removed too many foot switches. The need a unit with a smaller screen more foot switches and a pc editor. Till that happens they are off my list.
@bandanik97988 ай бұрын
They abandon support for their own products.
@redkurn8 ай бұрын
old products maybe, but headrush isn't fender make something and a few years later forget it exists... they are still supporting the pedalboard and gigboard. what more could you ask for? everything has a EoL.

That and the fizz that was hard to dial out on the 11rack. I was late to that party I admit , but they stop support on that one after about a year of me owning it.

personally i Dont like it. on the first 3 amps at least its distortion seems greatly devoid of certain key tonal qualities and instead replaces them with a strange harshness i personally find sort of difficult to listen to, and thats not translating to a cathartic rawness or disgusting brutality in any way i can justify as pleasantly cacophonic. which SUCKS, because what a list of features! it has almost everything i possibly need for my mobile recording purposes.. even MIC I/O & vocal processing stuff! 🤓🤩...and that BIG ass glorious touch screen, FML why does it have to sound like my whole ass??!? dunno, maybe im just having a weird morning.
