Really interesting, thank you. We have mild problems every year. Photosensitivity makes sense as coincides with longer days (☀️☀️☀️) and weaning (lambs increasingly relying on grazing rather than milk). No brassicas here, but perhaps they are obtaining similar compounds via their diet. Always clears up after a few weeks 👍

@@sarahholloway7584 perhaps. Worth being aware that scaly, sunburned looking ears in lambs can also be due to cobalt deficiency (see video from a couple of weeks back), which typically comes out shortly after weaning. Thanks for watching!

@@johnjones3848 happens more often than we think - hopefully we can make a few more people aware of the condition and help prevent a few cases 👍🏼

Many thanks. Have a small flock of ewes and I've 4 or 5 ewes that get this problem ever year. Same ewes. I don't graze any crops only grass. Can other plants ie weeds cause this.

@@shanecroke7682 hi Shane, yes there are various other plants found in hedgerows etc that can cause the same problem - although not always by the same mechanism in the liver. We see these cases now and again as well. Thanks for watching
