To call 'Stick to the Status Quo': "cute and basic" is truly heartbreaking and disparaging. Nick, I have stood by you throughout this journey but it's today we part. 'Stick to the Status Quo' was truly ground breaking. The complexities on social politics and the greater commentary on the limitations of society far outstretch and go beyond the cafeteria. I agree, that Sharpay's better song existed in HSM 2, but to call Status Quo CUTE AND BASIC is just unforgivable. Please reconsider your stance if you have any self respect or loyalties to these movies.

people say that moving the call back date to the day of the big game and scholastic decathlon was natural to "test their dedication" but there's absolutely no reason why you can't do more than one thing in high school, and literally her thought process was "oh no, they're good, they might beat me - i'll change the date so they can't come and i'll get the part by default." yes, sharpay did something wrong.
@naurarri6 жыл бұрын
Haley Justino she just wants to spent time with troy, and yes she is wrong to do that. She tried to seperated Troy from his girlfriend and friends, which is wrong. But she's no evil. If she's evil, she would not accept the ending, she would feel rage. Her ego was showing, but she realises it in the end. She's just a human being who did somehing wrong. Also she was trying to get Troy a scholarship which is amazing for her to do.

Oh hell yess, it is known that there was something there. If I'm not wrong, the producer and some of the cast wanted to have a gay character, but being Disney they just couldn't do it openly, so they did a musical number that was basically about denial of bisexuality, cuz why the hell would Chad refuse to "dance"??? All in all it's an amazing musical number with a not so hidden meaning
@TheNerdySimulation6 жыл бұрын
I can't believe I am about to write this, but... I think the part where Chad and Ryan switch clothes is meant to be a representation of them coming to understand one another's perspective better, now seeing the appeal of what the other is talking about and coming to terms with the fact that they aren't actually that different from one another, even though that whole scene essentially starts with them "at war" with one another. I'd love to just say it was a mistake or continuity error, but I don't think something so glaringly obvious as an entire Wardrobe would be an accident. Dammit! I hate that you're making me think about this movie!

3 is the best. Troy’s character arc is the most relateable than any other character arc in the series. He wants go enjoy the last bits of high school he has left and make tons of memories with his friends. He was also super conflicted on where to go to school and what to go to school for. He was also concerned with how his relationship with Gabriella was going to look post high school. Most high schoolers deal with at least one of those issues, or multiple. For the first time in the entire series it actually felt like they were in high school.

Okay but they straight up duped Sharpay at the end. They were cruel to her. She got Troy, and even all his pals a job. She doesnt know how to relate or communicate with him, but this movie showed that he does not even care to empathize with her. She believes she is about to sing on stage with him and Gabriella comes out of nowhere, everyone on board with the sound equipment (ie the cast) and they are so so so cruel to her. All despite the fact that she hasn’t done anything mean or vindictive yet. And they all sabotage the only thing she cared about all summer. And the worst part is that she sings along in the background just so that the movie can close.
@bookl0ver6 жыл бұрын
Grace Louise Phillips ...She didn't get them the job. She wanted them to be fired. She used her contacts and social status as leverage to get Troy to abandon his friends and focus on her. Plus she ruined Kelsi's really cute song.

Yall remember that song in HSM3 where Chad and Troy become kids for some reason?
@anthares966 жыл бұрын
how dare u say "right here right now" is the romantic song of the third movie, when "can i have this dance" is an iconic banger that never fails to remind me how fucking lonely i am in comparison that said, this video needs to be preserved for future generations

WOAAAAHHH ARE U SERIOUS???? awww man... 3 as the best I think is the most unpopular opinion..we can't lose pple!!! Lol TBH when I watch 3, specifically the 2nd half of the movie I really feel like I am watching a feature film rather than just a Disney Channel movie. The legit relatable struggle that Troy and Gabriella go through and their freaking chemistry is just for me the first two films just can't match! Lol Wut do I gotta do to deconvert u?? Lol

I've always advocated HSM2 as the best one and the main reason why people tend to disagree is because it doesn't actually take place in their high school with the exception of the first number. The thing about high school, though, is that it's more than just a place--it's a 4-year period of our lives; it's a mindset; it's an attitude. All of the conflicts portrayed in each of the movies speak truth to the high school experience, and while HSM2 doesn't take place at East High, summers for any high schooler have definitely always been an integral part of the high school experience. HSM2 is a testament to how summer can test even the strongest relationships in high school; will you make time to be with your friends, teammates, and significant other, or will you put them aside while you seek opportunities for yourself? If that sounds like it's hella juvenile, that's because it is; again, this is high school we're talking about, which is probably when people reach maximum pettiness. Anyway, that's enough for a 2:30AM rant. Awesome video; you were right on the money in explaining why HSM2 reigns as the best in the series! (However I will dispute your claim of Fabulous being the best "Sharpay song" in the series. That title goes to I Want It All from HSM3; that number is literally Fabulous on steroids.)

I love that you pointed out that after the scene in "I Don't Dance" Chad and Ryan switched clothes, like, they're just a couple of guys being dudes right? But I also love that it was never explained tho, it's like they just banged after the song and that's it.

I really love senior year more than the second one because it’s more relatable (in my opinion). The fact that it’s their senior year and they have HUGE decisions to make is extremely relatable to hs/college students. Their last game, prom, last musical!!! Beautiful musical moments and choreography as well as knowing that this is the end for the wildcats

Alex HEY NOW HEY NOW, what dreams are made of is an ICONIC power ballad of a young women finding confidence in herself, learning to love herself and cherishing the people most important to her - her friends, her family, and gordo ofc. Even though it starts off as a romantic duet, we all know paolo's lying bitch ass couldn't carry a tune to save his life. Thus, what dreams are made of is iconic but Breaking Free is still the *romantic* power ballad to end all ballads. thank u for coming to my ted talk

Its so interesting how each movie speaks to each person differently I personally think the 3rd is BY FAR THE BEST! like no competition...but then I hear others say it is the worst nd explain their reasoning for why they like whichever ones they like I was 13, 15, and 16 respectively when the movies first came out and at tht time 3,2,1 was my order of greatest to least. Now at 28 and rewatching all 3 movies it goes 3,1,2. The maturity, chemistry b/t troy and Gabriella, nd the plot being the most relatable and realistic out of the 3 movies just really hits home 4 me! OH ND THE SOOOONGS!!! LOL U mind telling me a detailed reasoning 4 UR liking of 2..?? Of course only if u want to.^^

But really though, why DID they switch clothes? Like you can't just make that mistake, you can just suddenly be in your costar's or friend's clothes and it's not even like Chad gave Ryan his jacket, the shirt underneath is sleeveless and next it has sleeves AND a collar. I am so puzzled

I’m going to have to dispute this title because although #2 deserves all its merit both for excellent fresh choreography, capturing the essence of summer, #1 is a groundbreaking piece of art. I cannot name a more iconic scene than the opening karaoke scene. “Someday you guys might thank me for this.” Period.
