When The Girl Next Door came out in 2004, everyone wanted to know who played Danielle aka Athena, the former porn actress turned girl next door.
It was Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert. Her performance in The Girl Next Door didn’t just get her noticed but it also got a whole generation of teenage boys through puberty. Previous to that, she had played Jack Bauer's daughter on the hit series 24.

I thought The Girl Next Door was incredibly underrated. Absolutely amazing sound track, solid cast, decent script and acting. OK it was never going to be "the next Pretty Woman" as I felt it was too targeted at Male audiences, but a good film nonetheless. A real shame her career tanked.

It's sad how much of HER was hidden in this film. Any close up of her body when she's changing in the window, for example, or in the hotel is not even her, as she refused to get implants. They used as much padding and push ups as possible, but still had an extra for tons of scenes. Most scenes that are close up on her body, where you cannot see her face, is her extra. That's the saddest part is the people that know nothing about the industry don't understand that they are in love with an extra for half the movie.

It was DEFINITELY good. The problem with it, ultimately, it was that the subject matter was so heavy that people didn't want to go to the theaters to see it. It wasn't a problem with the acting or directing. It was just society's perception of what made good movies. I'm so glad someone else sees it that way too. Humor is always subjective, but for me Happy Endings was clearly the funnier show. The lines and chemistry between the cast was certainly better than New Girl. It should've never been cancelled. To a casual viewer just tuning in, New Girl can be intolerable at times. Also, I find both Elisha and Eliza from the show much more attractive than Zoey Deschanel.

It really did have great comedians and really good actors working on it. I looooove the dry humor, when they spit out jokes and don't need to stand in a spotlight waiting for applause to rain down and using a joke hammer to hit you over the head letting you know a joke just took place. The best comedy sneaks the jokes in and allows you to pick up on them on your own, unfortunately the general TV market doesn't seem to be always smart enough to allow writing like that to survive often. Luckily some aspects of that moved over to New Girl.

Elisha Cuthbert is still very attractive and as said has still been in movies recently. I think you will still see her in a lot of productions upcoming. She is Canadian and her husband plays hockey with the Ottawa Senators so she is in Canada a lot of the time. I enjoyed the Girl Next Door a lot. She was also very good in a Canadian production called Lucky Girl about a girl with gambling issues. You should check it out.

She is absolutely adorable and while I haven't watched all of her movies I really enjoyed her on TV. She shines in comedies & unfortunately is frequently miscast. She is fantastic on The Ranch. Its a shame Hollywood passes over beautiful, smart, moral & ethical girls for the "easy" ones. Hopefully The Ranch continues and maybe she will make some more Lifetime movies since she's in Canada so much. I wish her the best!

I think what hurt her most was that, while 24 was her breakout role, it also was a character that annoyed a lot of people. Her character, Kim, Keifer Sutherland's teenage and somewhat ditzy daughter, was really only important to the plot in Season 1. Then they made her an annoying filler character in Season 2 and a member of CTU in Season 3, which wasn't believable. Every 24 fan I knew at the time absolutely hated Kim; she was the Wesley Crusher of the series. Unfortunately, I think that typecast carried over into her film career and she never really was able to break away from being Kim Bauer.
