Dude, as someone who works with several fairly large KZbinrs as an editor and videographer, I have to say… the quality, pacing, and delivery of your scripts is fantastic. Obviously the edits on your videos are fantastic and your videos are technically great (lighting, color grades) and enhance the story telling. But what I am most impressed by, maybe because it’s the main part of your vids that are totally outside of my personal abilities, is the attention to detail in your script writing and your ability to tie together a simple, cohesive through line that is both moving and easy to follow. Really impressive stuff. I’m not sure that even the bigger influencers I work with could weave such fantastic video essay scripts. Like Ben (kneesovertoesguy) is a genius in his own way with physical training, but I’m not sure he could even envision a piece of content like this let alone plan it out. I certainly know I can’t. Impressed man. Thanks for the great work you’re doing on this channel.

Brilliant breakdown of human nature through Aljo's story. From a more pragmatic point of view, as much as I love MMA, it has one of the most toxic fan bases I've ever seen. The New Jersey reaction to a kid who grew up just a few stops away on the LIRR beating the former two division champ and Olympic gold winner was just embarrassing, but then again embarrassing isn't new to New Jersey, so I shouldn't have been surprised.

Embarrassing fuckin how? These guys train everyday the best and most efficient ways to hurt another human being and we watch them get in a cage to be paid to hurt another human being in an entertaining way, if they have thin skin then they have no place in fighting. If the crowd feels a certain way, they feel a certain way. You and DC would never tell the crowd to not cheer a fighter, so why tell them to not boo them? So good per usual Patrick, was so curious as to where Alja gets his hate from but this broke it down beautifully. Another fighter that might be even more hated in the UFC is Belal Muhammad, despite working his way up from obscurity to a title fight soon, would be amazing if you could do a similar video breaking down his story. Keep it up man!!

Honestly, I'm 6 minutes into this video and not a second is wasted on pointless information unrelated to the topic, the video is edited so well and it kept my attention the entire time, even tho I'm new to the UFC it's really good, informative and simple to get content like this that makes me even more interested in the lore. And if this is uploaded 3 days ago it means that this quality of video is something to be expected always as of now. You actually earned yourself a subscriber and you also deserve many more to come your way, thanks for the good content.

I want to believe Aljo knows his own story and does not think this narrative about him is all there is to it, I can't imagine how hard must be to be the champ and also have most of the fanbase to hate your guts.

He chose the easy way out. That's why people hate him. Anthon Smith could have done the same thing when he fought Jon Jones but he didn't because he has integrity. Aljo doesn't.

You're so good at story telling and editing that it's waste to have you do boxers documentary. You can open a lot of people's eyes on real issues with the talent that you have (CBDC, WEF, WHO, etc..) Nevertheless, I love your documentaries.

I love watching Aljo’s blend of wrestling and BJJ for MMA. It’s super slick to watch, and he’s a great champion. Thanks for this video, great job! Also, I think the reason Aljo got boo’d in NJ is this: I know it would seem like NJ = Long Island, but there is a lot of hate in between the Tri-state area unfortunately :(. People (not all, but lots) from NY and NJ have been stuck in some weird rivalry for years.

Brilliant video. I loved it. The over all "big picture" message to this story is something that for every person that has had the opportunity to watch it, that they should considered the message here very important and perhaps even vital to your personal growth and evolution. At the very least as something to always keep in mind and take into consideration as you move forward in life. What it touches in regard to human nature and how we view things and in turn how we treat others and again in turn how we are treated by others. But always how easily we get caught up in the narratives we see in the media and the stories we become willing to believe and willing to side with. In that sense we are sort of the brainwashed observer who lost contact with their own mind and... eating popcorn drooling and getting caught up in the proverbial background music that amplifies how the story teller wants us to feel about it all. We can do better. And Just Being better than we are so far is a hell of a worthy goal. This video exposes some lame ass shit we are all guilty of or have been guilty of at some point in our lives but often times too caught up in it all to ever have noticed. You're on notice NOW!!!
