Nice video. Ive had my m140i for 2 years now and im seriously considering the JCW, the 140 is rapid but cant beat the mini for fun factor

I want to own a 140 one day. They are beasts
@roblanger5546 Жыл бұрын
@@JoshBatesYT yeah they are rapid in a straight line, but there is almost too much power for the car as it does get a bit squiffy from the rear when pushing it. Had a bit of a play with a JCW off the line and it got way ahead of me very quickly.

Just realised I commented the same on your other video ahha XD I am in this exact same situation !!!! Test driving a JCW this week and an M140i ! I've been stuck for 6 months deciding and still nowhere closer fgs XD. My first car was a cooper S second gen and I loved it ! I moved onto an F type V6 and my partner got the F56 cooper s but I couldn't gel with it after driving a couple times. It felt so disconnected compared to my old R56. I really really want to like the JCW when I go to test drive it but reckon ill also give the m140i a go as well and see what that feels like. AHhhhh !!!
@craig19962 жыл бұрын
such a smart looking car, what's your preference, fwd or rwd? heard 140i's weren't very good in terms of cornering so massively put me off
@JoshBatesYT2 жыл бұрын
They both have there pros and cons. FWD understeers more, RWD oversteers more. I prefer oversteer but this mini is so grippy there's not much understeer. My choice though would be RWD
@craig19962 жыл бұрын
@@JoshBatesYT yeah understeering unintentionally can cause some proper brown pants moments 😂 see only rwd i've driven is transits and my old sierra so power wise wasn't really enough for any backend action unless it's wet (89bhp) 😂
@craig19962 жыл бұрын
@@NA-gf1zy just based off reviews for the 140i, i've had rwd in the past and pushed it quite hard, not exactly a modern rwd either, a ford sierra, again not known for brilliant handling 😂 every review i've seen so far basically all say there's no confidence in pushing through corners due to boat like feel.
@sunvol45032 жыл бұрын
I went to the Mini dealership and asked for the best and fastest hatch. The only reason I didn't leave with a JCW is because they don't sell them with a Standard transmission. Only the "S" model has that. Regardless I still love my mini. It might even be cheaper to buy secondhand JCW parts.
@gravityhammer252 жыл бұрын
Love my JCW GP3, best car I have ever owned/driven and I'm coming from a 426whp Type R FK8... the Mini is BETTER and even more savage than my Type R was. With the Mini I gotta be focused on the drive at all times... even at 95mph on an uneven road it will dance around... kind of scary but FUN at the same time. I wish we had those awesome BMW hot hatches in the US but the closest I could get to it is the Mini 😁
@JoshBatesYT2 жыл бұрын
Wow thats crazy you guys don't get the bmw hot hatches they are insane cars. The Minis are still a load of fun especially down a narrow country road.

Thing with the Auto is you get that blurp sound at high revs on upshifs and pops when you downshift,i have a manual 2015 S F56,simple resonator delete a tuning box and Pipercross lifetime air filter and i dont even want anymore mods had zero issues with TMC used tuning box £60 off Fleebay for the last 2 years now,and my mini has the full JCW's body kit and 18" cup alloys,i owned a 2015 Fiesta ST Mk7 Ecoboost for a year in the past too i couldnt afford the Mini over the Fiesta back then but i have no regrets with the Mini over ST,the Fiesta was too harsh around town and the seats just did not cushion it's hard bobby ride like the Mini can.
@JoshBatesYT2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that sounds nice. I definitely want the resonator taken out soon and then eventually get the pro exhaust
@teggsy21652 жыл бұрын
@@JoshBatesYT Why bother with JCW's pro the flap looks silly when closed on one tail pipe and if you have drive modes you have some noise control just with the resonator delete by being in sport or mid mode,my car still does an odd pop now and again even in mid mode try the res delete first you could save £1300-1500 even a Scorpion exaust with res deleted already is £550-£750. Even a hard down pipe mabe an option?

Owned my JCW since 2018 - the longest car I’ve owned as it’s such a great little car. It’s a 2017 car with the loud exhaust. In 2020, I added some mods to make it even better: DMS remap - 280bhp/430Nm - you can feel the difference with the extra power! Full dechrome by Mini AC Schnitzer Lowering Springs OZ Ultraleggera 18” wheels Michelin PS4 tyres - highly recommend mod get rid of the runflats! Tarox Rear Sport Japan Cross Drilled Discs and pads 2 more mods this summer: JCW Pro Rear Diffuser Duell AG style front carbon splitter by Mulgari Planned 2023 upgrades: Tarox Sport Japan Front Discs and pads Tarox Braided hoses and brake fluid If you can’t tell already, this one is a keeper!
