Nice going Rog! But it`s time to steer away from the Tori U-turns 😋. Show us some cones man 😁

@@Travelguzzi haha yeah, I'm pretty hesitant right now, still making friends with the bike at lower speeds. I'm struggling to find a parking lot that I can do the low speed work in.

The best seat was a Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE. In second place was the BMW K1600GT. In third place is the Ducati Multistrada V4 PikesPeak. In fourth place was the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE. Fifth place BMW R1300GS Opt719. All motorcycles I have owned and ridden at least 5000km. Now I have a Ducati Multistrada V4 PikesPeak (23K km on it) and a BMW R1300GS Option 719 Aurelius Green (3700K km on it). The Ducati Mutistrada PikesPeak has the best gearbox, closely followed by the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE. Then the BMW R1300GS. There's little distance between the top three, it's more my riding style and personal preference. Then the Kawasaki Versys (a rather dull downshifting Quickshifter. Last is the BMW K1600GT: a series of failures, too coarse up and down and occasionally unsure neutral, and the weight is high (but a wonderful iconic in-line six cylinder engine). My overall riding feelings based on a combination of feel and engine, transmission and comfort: 1st BMW R1300GS, very closely followed by the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. Decided only by the high bottom-end torque of the BMW boxer and lower gas mileage. The boxer engine is less hot (cylinders are outside and cool better) than the V4 Granturismo engine in the PikesPeak. The V4 PikesPeak is again much better looking, but that's not a driving characteristic :-). At higher revs, the PP has a much higher fun factor. But also the fuel consumption. In third place Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE (sovereignly the best engine of all, it's miles ahead), in fourth place Kawasaki Versys 100SE (it's very underrated bike in general but with great handling characteristics, awesome nice engine, low consumption and high riding comfort all for a great reasonable price), in fifth place BMW K1600GT. Final: now I have a BMW R1300GS Opt719 Tramuntana and a Ducati Multistrada V4 PP.

Very good video, what do you think about the gearbox ( 1300gs) compared tiger/v4s/1250gs?? Thanks
@RogersMotorcycleAdventures7 күн бұрын
@@stephanefrancois793 thank you kindly! The Tiger 900 had the best gearbox, the quick shifter was super smooth, even going from 1st to 2nd. The Multistrada was a close second. The R1300GS is pretty good, but when using the quickshifter to shift up, it really wants positive throttle (I'll be covering this in a future video). The 1250GS is fine, but a little clunky. One added note about the 1300, the actual shift lever is better on the 719 version - it's billet aluminium, instead of...plastic. The shift lever on the other GS versions is plastic. Because it's light. I think that was a bad decision by BMW.

Your ears need a good cleaning. Wax build up. Cricket sounds will help tenitus. Good thorough vid. I like hearing all your comparisons. I have a lot of the same tastes in bikes as you but went right for the 1300. Always wanted a GS. I think I got the best one! Thanks for the vid.

My ears don't tend to get wax buildup; the first time I went to a GP (you have to go to a GP here in Australia to get a referral to an ENT), I was thinking earwax might be a problem, but he told me it wasn't, and the ENT I eventually went to concurred. I wish the issue I was dealing with was that simple, believe me. I'll find another ENT soon, and get things sorted. So you have the 1300 as well, awesome! And congrats! So what I said about the seat, what do you think about it? Comfy? Too hard?

@@RogersMotorcycleAdventures I’m fine with the seat. I’ve had a lot of bikes and I think this has the best seat. I think after about 1000 miles it really started to break in. I have an old goldwing for the wife. She loves it and I’ll never get rid of it BUT, after about two hours riding, I start getting pretty sore. I think there’s definitely something about going too soft with a seat. That GW seat is like a lounge chair, still get sore. Seems I can ride the GS all day and have a couple times. I love the GS! About the ears. I’ve taken some damage to my ears also ( drummer and motorcyclist), the tenitus comes and goes with me. Cricket noise does seem to help. I’ve also had the ear popping thing happen and ear cleaning has the same effect. The crazy thing I was told was the brain will respond too the extra loud noise and adjust the sensitivity to the ears, crazy. Congrats on having the best bike ever made, enjoy!

@ hey, another thing in common - I was a professional drummer back in my younger days! Agreed about the softness of the seat - I don't think it's great for comfort. Congrats to you as well! We both have awesome bikes!

At your height did you get optional high seat?

@@PamelaLevenson I have the standard "comfort" seat. It's perfect for me, height-wise.

Good video. I rode the 1300GS twice and found it to be VERY uncomfortable, relative to the Rider Triangle (too leaned forward) & seat comfort. I have owned my 2019 1250GS from new and think its the best ADV bike. Too bad you didn't ride a 1250GS, as you may not have bought the 1300GS. I think BMW screwed up with the 1300GS. Glad you like it.

@@RogersMotorcycleAdventures ok, great. I will watch! I think if I ever replace my 1250GS it may be with a 1300GSA. Reviews say its much more comfortable than the 1300GS. I love my 1250GS though, lol

You obviously can't keep your hands on the bars in control of your bike!!! That is a hazard to everyone around you!!! Riding with cruise control in a business area with stop lights, not smart and a risk to everyone around you.
