x100v definitely advertised as a niche little camera, but in truth it can do much more - from street, to portraits, to lifestyle and maybe landscape as well -- all in one little compact body. wise choice i must say

very versatile for sure!

Great choice! I have both the Xpro 3 and XT4. Love both cameras ! The 100v is a solid choice.

Very fair points! I intend to get one soon as a life-documentary, always-on-me camera. My reasons are its size and shape (VF hump and lens protrusions do add to bulkiness more than one thinks), the flash, the fixed focal length, and the weather sealing. I think all these features are really useful in an always-on-you camera. I also hope the OVF and film simulations allow me to get into a mode of shoot and don't check until later, so I can enjoy the moment.

it’s perfect as an everyday camera! the size makes it very convenient to carry. also there are endless combinations of film sim/recipes. you wont get bored!

@@andrepel likewise. Lol I was extremely on the fence on buying it but I saw someone selling it for $800 almost new and I couldn’t say no to that and I’m glad. I watched a lot of your vids and others around KZbin and I always wanted something I could take with me everywhere since I have other bulky systems that take too much space. It’s perfect

i purchased the v ihad come from a99/a6300 and like any camera you have to use it and get used to it. A jump to at first x100f i hated it. Jumped back to the a6300 ans sigma 16mm f1.4 fab combo. but after long covid i treated myself to the x100v......fab camera enjoyed first couple of weeks until i lost it. i left it hung in my coat in a forrest car park. Ive got another one comming as i was so pleased after spending some time with it and good light. Playing with film simulations also helps me put some extream grit into my shots. I do now wnt to play with an xt-4 and will in the future add one. even this my old sony i was able to use say a minolta full frame 50mm f1.7 which was razor sharp in middle and also comine the canon 400mm f2.8 with a metabones adapter to do some great wild life. Overall very pleased with my x100v just glad i had it insured otherwise id be crying over its loss.

aw man! sorry for your loss! :( good thing for the insurance, hopefully the V is more enjoyable than the F !

I didn't really like the form factor of the X-T30. However the X-Pro line in my opinion is the perfect camera for me. X100V is my close second.
@andrepel4 жыл бұрын
i feel the same! the x-t30 was a small awkward size for its shape.
@Ali.lensman4 жыл бұрын
X-t30 is much better in many ways, smaller, more compact, perfect for traveling and street photography has much better grip, bigger viewfinder, more practical because u can change lenses, not fixed lens! Yes it's not weather sealed but got same sensor and processor as 100v. X-t30 is cheaper even if you add two f2 prime lens to the price.

@@andrepel thanks 😊 but really this camera is ridiculously overpriced for options no body going to use everyday, the nd filter and leaf shutter awesomeness. The ergo and flexibility of this X100 cameras is really disappointing
@KevinScandinavia3 жыл бұрын
@@Ali.lensman I used to have the x100t and it’s true the hot shoe thumb grip is pretty much mandatory, as for the leaf shutter and nd filter i used to use them all the time during the day since you could shoot with flash for perfect fill all day long and get bokehlicious shots to boot. Women love it because they look younger and better due to there not being any eye socket shadows and other harsh effects from the day time sun. It’s kind of the ultimate beach camera 😁 and I’m very tempted to get this new one 😅

Hmmm ... seems like great upgrade of Panasonic GF1 with 20mm/f1.7 lens. I bought more lenses and MFT bodies over the time, but I enjoy it less as it's getting somewhat bulky. So I will keep G80 as versatile tool that is good enough and I guess I'll get x100v for the very same reason I entered MFT word - (almost) everyday carry high quality camera for fun.

So I'm a creep because I shoot with the XT4 with a viewfinder in the middle?! 😂😂😂😂 (j/k) - I considered getting the X100V, but I never liked the viewfinder on the left side as I shoot with my left eye so either way still covering my face anyways 🤷♂️ but man I spent so much time deciding between the both, you have no idea how tempting it was to get the V, but because I want to make KZbin videos too...the XT4 just made sense and the longer battery life was important. I mean you have get what works best for what you need. Now if money was no object, I would LOVE to have the X100V as a sidekick to the XT4. But just not in my budget at the moment. Its incredibly hard to buy a bad camera these days and I think we easily get caught up on cameras sometimes. There are so many videos about the X100V and I believe it causes people to "think" they need it and get they one and quickly realized it wasn't for them. I had an original X100 as a "EDC" camera when I had my Nikon full frame setup, it was great...albeit with a lot of quirks and issues but it was fun and it got me into the world of Fujifilm. Great video man!
@andrepel4 жыл бұрын
haha noo! I just personally feel more comfortable with the viewfinder on the left. It definitely makes sense if you’re left eye dominant to have a center vf. The x-t4 is probably the better choice if you’re looking at just specs anyways. I still find myself eyeing one every now and then. But its true - modern cameras will have no problem getting the job done! We are the picky ones... Cheers!

Hello, I'm very interested to buy the X100V, I'm currently shooting on Canon 100D and 250D and I'm quite upset of the sharpness at 24mm, do you think the 23mm of the X100V is better ? And do you think the sharpness of the 23mm is better than a crop of an image at 55mm (18-55) with the Canon ? Is the behavior better at high ISO ? PS: I'm only shooting B&W... Thanks for your posts, go ahead !
@andrepel4 жыл бұрын
ive never shot with those cameras so i cant say for sure. but from my experience the x100v is very sharp wide open. sharp to the point where i don’t know if you’d need more. there are instances where i’d lower sharpness or clarity in post to get a softer or dreamier look. its all preference here though!
