Totally disagree with your commentary. Jamaica is producing enuff talent so we will never able to fill in all those professional in a position so some have to leave. If sch hospital etc etc was being close are we have to start importing ppl to fill those vacancy the we will be in a big problem. U fail to tell them ppl them that u on ur husband had to put in alot of work with maybe tow job to able to achieve those stuff that i accomplished

Agreed. Love Jamaica like crazy but if I didn't migrate I wouldn't be anywhere. In Jamaica you cannot be successful without either being corrupt or having links. Worked in I.T. for nearly ten years in Jamaica and couldn't see any future. When I left Jamaica everything turned up. There is a lot of opportunity in foreign as long as you are ambitious and not lazy. After just a couple years here I can literally go back to Jamaica and retire now and don't work another day in my life. I would recommend every young person to go and experience the world. There is nowhere like Jamaica in my opinion. Best place to be for that happy vacation feeling because of our food, music, weather and talent. But if you actually want to make something of yourself without having to compromise yourself, you have to step out in the world. You also get to exposed to a lot of things and you have a better understanding of the world and how things actually work. When you in Jamaica you only hear one side of things and honestly our people dark. We very bright and intelligent but we very dark at the same time. Don't know how to explain it.

Ms. Shakera. Love and Respect Everytime. You are absolutely correct that Jamaica is not offering it's workforce any incentive to stay. The citizens who are working hard realize they are only benefitting the foreign stakeholders. They keep plundering the resources and are not taking care of the people. The system and laws are outdated and enforced in a way to stifle the masses. Shanty towns remains as is and degradation of the society is not welcoming. Jamaica can be upgraded when the requirements for change is established. Any conscious minded person who wants to see things improved and upgraded cannot live there. Jamaica is a beautiful place but I see their system as outdated and broken.

One would think if you hold a higher level of education it would guarantee you a “ good job” not in Jamaica sadly and leave no hope for the younger generation because gone are the days when I could tell my younger siblings that going to university is the way to being successful then boom leave university and you can’t even get a job. the only thing university did for me was add a bachelors to my name. Why you think a lot of students stay in university longer? Just so they can go on the J1 program because they knew there is no work after that in Jamaica or people just start a different life somewhere else not because they want to but because the government provides no other solutions well other than call center work but as a university graduate call center below my level I am sorry.

Jamaica doesn't export much anymore. Our import expenditure far exceeds our export value. Michael Manley told us to eat what we grow, but the Jamaican people scoffed at the idea. Today we import everything, even bananas.

Bless up urself sister. as a Jamaican 🇯🇲 born living in the US... I do love ❤️ the land of my birth!!! But this disease called crime which is racking havoc on the land. is doing much more damage to the country than even the Corona virus... it's causing so much pain and heartache not only to I man but to almost every Jamaicans that I have spoken with!!! and that's so so sad. I mentioned this before and now I'm repeating it. it's the responsibility of the governments both ruling and opposition to keep its citizens safe along with the churches!!! when when when? when will this killing spree be over? when? when will the residents of one of the most beautiful place on earth 🌎 an visitors to same place be able to walk and feel free and safe again??? that's a question for the governments and its security service. I rest my case

Are you serious! You live in the US and you have the audacity to comment about the crime in Jamaica! Seriously! There are places in the US that I would never step in because of fear of being assaulted. Heck I don’t even feel comfortable driving in proximity the pick up trucks with American flags bc the driver is likely racist. We have to stop pushing this narrative that Jamaica is so much worst than other developing nations. When these American nationals decide that they no longer want you in there country, I wonder where you’re going to go. Be proud you have a county to call home and be apart of the solution.

Am not going to lie i live in the US and would rather like in the Dominican republic over Canada. Talking about old politicians check out the US and yet Canada. Opportunity is not created by government it by individuals and can foster an atmosphere to let you flourish. we pretty much don't farm anything in Jamaica maybe 30% of what they eat. We did not dedicate our people for the 21s century the age of TECHNOLOGY, all we talk about is to depend on tourism and remittances. When we had manufacturing we lesson to socialist PJ patterson voted for him 4 election so they left. The young people are not interested in trades or farming. Culture even when they come to America do you know how many Jamaica i see driving nice cars and live nowhere even trying to show off on me when my bedroom can park 2 full size SUVs and still find place for a bed. however this comes with work so hard that you don't keep up with the day's of the week. Cuba is 90 miles from nigel and Miami is 90 miles from Cuba that a 180 miles from Jamaica to America. If we were wise cars and computer would be made in Jamaica. There is nothing you can do for people that lack vision. Please stop talking about poverty Jamaica was a better place to live when we as a nation was far poorer far more illiterate. And you Jamaicans can play your part by buying jamaican the politicians don't control that. The reason the USA and Canada seem like its better is because we produce things. If not it would be real shit-holes and we wouldn't think twice to move back to Jamaica.

OK, bla bla bla. We all know the issues regarding Jamaica, there is no need to make a video about it and show it to the world. I assume most of your followers are Jamaicans so there really is no point to this video. Since Canada and bigger countries are so great: Ontario minumum wage: $15.50 per hour Monthly: $2,480 That's great, right? Now, kindly explain to the audience who do not live in Canada what is the cost of a one bedroom apartment in the GTA. It would also be nice if you explain the racial barriers for certain jobs here. Years of Indepence: ------------------ Canada - 155 Years USA - 250+ Years Jamaica - 60 Years + still battle the brainwashing of 400+ years of slavery Rome wasn't built in a day. The difference is that the inhabitants of those countries stayed and built their countries for FUTURE generations. They understood that sometimes things that you work for in your lifetime will only benefit the NEXT GENERATION.

You clearly did not hear or understand what she is saying or else you're comment would not be this long. Unlike Jamaica Canada the US and many other country have the opportunity where you can build yourself regardless of race barriers multiple streams of income.

@@ki_ty_jaiempress4984 And you clearly have a walnut-sized brain for making this comment. Clearly you didn't understand the message. My message was not disputing the fact that more opportunities exists in your beloved so-called first world countries, it is what it is. The message was explaining the REASON for this and why it is pointless to compare Jamaica with another country who's at different stages in their evolution. I suggest you re-read the message with some understanding, especially the end. But, I won't be suprised if you come to the same conclusing anyways. More education!

Why are we so offended, isn’t it the truth. All the other countries mentioned are not perfect, however it is much better. There is accountability, there is none in Jamaica, everyone does as they please. I received free care for years, I mean quality. Food pantries all over not to mention dollar tee where you can eat a meal. You can make something of yourself. It is better overseas , that’s a fact.
