Life itself is a journey, a journey to overcome challenges in everyday life as someone who lives in a semi truck most of the year driving all over America and who doesn't own or rent a home, I fully understand the choice to break free of a system that keeps people... for lack of a better word oppressed. We all like the creature comforts of a house or apartment the ease of access to the things we need daily electricity internet running water.. these thing make life easier but to get those things from the system you must work and pay.. it's a never ending cycle... trying to free ones self from this is not a task for weak the challenges that must be faced are long and difficult.. I applaud your strength and fortitude and drive to achieve this.. True happiness comes from within and in order to find it you must truly know yourself the problem you are facing in finding doesn't come from you necessarily in comes from the fact you are looking for validation from others either in life's decisions or at work and while this simple and small thing will bring happiness to you it will never last the true happiness you seek can only be found inside.. or if possible next to your significant other.. both of these is difficult to achieve I have been trying for the last 10 yrs since my last relationship to find this inner happiness there are days when I am happy and days when I am not..like you living off the grid away from humanity up in the mountains by a creek or river would be ideal daily human interactions is a must as humans we were never meant to be alone and while we can do it.. it impacts our mental health which in turns lowers our happiness and increases our sadness.. this is not the way.. on a personal note there is absolutely nothing wrong with your accent I personal find it relaxing and if other have a problem with it we'll... that's a them problem not a you problem embrace your accent and never forget who you are dont let other tell you how to live how to talk how to act live life by your own rules and standards not the world's... the people of the world are not living your life you are and don't forget it on your weekends take trips go to see new and exciting thing don't just sit there go out into the world and actually see it.. as someone who has seen this country from one ocean to the other and has been in every state there are many things to go and see.. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and one day like I hope to find that happiness I am looking for as well

I think you’re not rejected. You just did not encounter the right people because your work environment is full of different types of people - closed off people. And most of the time you’re there. I bet you, if you go and join a sports club or hiking club, you’ll find friends in a matter of second! So don’t feel too low, that place is just a tiny place on this earth. Explore other types of places … from my point of view, you’re the type of a person that is not scared to venture out. You’ll one day become CEO of a company.

Happiness is very subjective. I always think of this quote; I was sad I had no shoes until I saw a man with no feet. This brings me down to earth and tells me to always be grateful for what I have, not what I don't.

Fortunately, this time, I didn't see you crying again. As for happiness, I believe it doesn't necessarily require the approval of those around us. I think being free, maintaining curiosity about life, always having new and exciting ideas, trying new things, and exploring-these are also forms of happiness in life. On a tiring journey, we occasionally need to give ourselves a moment of relaxation and comfort, just as life has both happy and unhappy moments. Living independently requires constantly ensuring your safety. Keep it up, girl chasing happiness and freedom!😋

Hannah, your idea of exiting the matrix is very noble. I know young people in their teens or young adults who aspired to live differently. I certainly did as a young adult. There are spiritual communities who offer members an alternative way of living... on the land, growing their own foods, sharing the same life goal of consuming less but living a life that is deeply meaningful and joyful. You may look into these communities, but for some reason, I don't think you are ready for them. At the moment, you are NOT changing the world because no one is inspired by your example. You are living in a car, subjecting your dog to a very sad life. In every video, you are crying or having some type of drama or danger. This is the fourth video and we have seen you crying over a rental scam, crying over having no friends and being alone on your birthday, and then THIS!!! Your car was almost broken into. This is the fourth video, and we have seen you moving from Vancouver to LA, LA to the Bay Area, and now another move. Your life is so messed up. Please! Before changing the world, consider first changing YOURSELF!!!!!!!! Rooting for you, but watching your videos have not brought me any inspiration or upliftment, only more concern about your mental stability and poor judgment. Maybe you should exit the matrix first and then show people that it is possible. At the moment the matrix controls you, and that's why you are crying with one drama after the next all the time. And I think that's why you haven't made friends. People can feel something is not right with you.

Genuine question Hannah, where do you go for toilet? What if you need to go to toilet middle of the night? Do you have safety devices to protect yourself from someone trying to break in? Did you ever find difficulty to find parking overnight? What do you do on extremely sunny days?

As I grow older I realize it’s better not to have any friends than to have “good time friends” who only use you then discard you when you are no longer useful to them and I’m saying this based on my experience . I’m also an Asian immigrant . The only validation I need is from God. Having personal relationship with God is so much better than having meaningless relationship with thousands of people. I suggest you join church organizations, find true meaning in life and meet genuine people, I pray for you. I have survived all these years and you will too

Having an accent is not an issue and don't convince yourself otherwise. I also immigrated to the US in my late teens and at an age when I cannot get rid of my accent completely. It never stopped me from anything, nor making plenty of friends including Americans. It certainly did not impact me at work. Not feeling accepted comes from within ourselves with insecurities that we have to overcome. I think the majority of issues you are having stem from the current living in a car situation - you seem to want to normalize and rationalize it, but it simply is not. How can you build on friendships and the normal life routines like this? In my humble opinion pursuing a dream is one thing, but to be homeless for it is not worth it. Instead your work experience can be applied in more reasonably cost of living cities - Why not move out of LA and look for a tech job in another state/city? There are plenty of opportunities..... this situation is completely in your control - if you take it. This is not about being accepted, but about life choices.

Hi Hannah, I am so glad I found your channel. My story is almost exactly the same as yours. I am a first generation Vietnamese immigrant, roughly same age as you are. My family moved here to the states when I was 11 in 2008. It's bee 15 years, I am 26 now. Growing up at school I was made fun of because I used to have an accent. Thankfully it does not happen anymore because at some point I lost the accent without even realizing. It's just been 15 years of being by myself; there were no birthday celebrations, no holiday celebrations, no vacations taken, no conversations about what I want out of life. Our lives have always been defined by endlessly working or going to school to get a better job in order to better ourselves to that one day we can have a house, car, spouse, children; all the things that our culture expects us to have because it would supposedly make us happy. I feel like as family we ignored everything fun in life worth doing, all because they do not directly contribute to more material and social success, just so that one day we can the American Dream, all because we're afraid of not having those things. I graduated 2 years ago and have been working for a while now. I am at a point where I am like you starting to question if this is all there is, just endlessly keep working because you need more money to buy the American Dream. You're not really free if your life is constantly defined by wanting to buy things and having to constantly work to get promoted to get more money to buy them. I think your philosophy is very closely related to Buddhism which is popular in southeast asian countries like Vietnam. I've been studying it a lot and I found that it is slowly bringing me a lot of peace. I suggest you look up Nick Keomahavong on youtube. He's an American who lived in the west coast like you and how he's a buddhist monk living in Thailand. From my impressions it seems like he's at peace with himself and is sharing all his knowledge and insights into the lifestyle. Not saying you need to give up everything and become a monk haha. But maybe just listen to his insights see if you can adopt some of the mindsets so that you're more at peace with yourself. here's a link to one of his videos I think you might find relevant: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z53EimWep7Jmh7M Good luck to you I hope you keep posting, I do want to see how you will turn out since I think your life is very similar to mine.

The speech starting at 2:34; "If we stop spending, then we're just free." and "How can I exit the system?". I like your thoughts about 'Escape the Rat Race'. It goes by many names: downshifting, F.I.R.E., Mottainai (Japanese: もったいない), Buddha-like (Chinese: 佛系), and a hundred more. I'm interested to hear more. Like, what's next? I'm a 5th+ gen German/Mixed-Euro immigrant (a white guy). One of my favorite parts of life in America is that we all (almost all) come from somewhere else. Some American-born people don't like certain accents, and some don't care. I for one like hearing foreign accents because I think those people often have interesting stories. Also, I like the feeling of being a proper global citizen.

True happiness is a journey, let's explore it together. Lol True happiness often involves a sense of fulfillment, purpose, and contentment with one's lifestyle and choices. True happiness, for me, is a blend of pursuing meaningful work that aligns with my passions, nurturing close relationships with family and friends, and exploring new places and cultures through travel. It's about finding balance between personal growth and enjoying the present moment. Each day, I strive to create moments of joy and fulfillment, whether it's through my work as a nurse helping others, exploring nature, or simply spending quality time with loved ones. What about you? How do you define true happiness in your life, good Hannah

Being uncomfortable allows you to grow and experience new things in life. Every decision has it's benefits and drawbacks and it's easy to get lost in the thought that some other decision would have been "better" when in fact it has it's downsides as well. A prime example is you leaving to come to North America, life could be easier back home with family and friends, but you would have family obligations and wouldn't have the level of freedom to explore the world as you currently are. It's not easy and either way you go with your decisions there is lost opportunity.

The experience of struggling for acceptance, finding friends, fighting the traps of materialism, moving away from family and friends, and more. I hope and pray you find your tribe. I honestly do not believe people care about your accent. If they do, that is not someone who is worthy of your friendship. I love dogs. I tried to hug Halo through my screen!

Hey Hannah, I have been watching some vanlife style videos lately because I love the traveling aspect of them. This morning, I saw the thumbnail to the 2nd video in your diary and watched that one as well. You said something in that video that I could relate with. When you started talking about the reasons that led you to living this lifestyle, specifically about all of the materialism of trying to stay in or work towards luxury apartments, events, so many things that many of us believe to be important and work overtime to achieve, I paused for a moment. Not only do I agree with your sentiment, I also went through something similar in my life, especially with my health. Both physically and mentally. Something good came from it though. It was like a slow drip, but eventually, someone came to my rescue. A video about the gospel of Jesus Christ popped up in my KZbin recommended playlist one morning. I grew up primarily being an atheist so had this been in the past, I would have ignored it. However, my life was at such a pivotal point that I genuinely figured “why not, I don’t have much left to lose”. About six months after that, I just kind of broke down one night because I was genuinely afraid that I wouldn’t be around much longer. One night soon after, it just hit me, all the mistakes I had made, all the lies I had told, all the times I cheated in past relationships. I knew I wasn’t good enough and I needed a savior. That’s the night I trusted in the blood Jesus Christ shed for me, His final work on Calvary to pay for my sins once and for all and to save my soul from hell. I trusted Jesus to save my soul that night and He did. (Romans 3:23-25) I pray you trusted Jesus as well, you’re a soul and I know God cares about you. I’ll be praying for you, best wishes with your career. Be safe. There are some videos from Pastor Gene Kim and Pastor Robert Breaker that you would be helpful if you wanted to study more, I learned a lot from them. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of life of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23).

@HannahWurld and to answer your question, true happiness is NOT working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 50 years. This is not the real life God intended for us. He made Adam and man to care for the earth, and the animals and take care of it. Man has failed at that. We gave polluted the earth, and we eat innocent animals for food. Soon, He will fix all problems, get rid of those who ruin our earth, and make earth the Paradise it once was, and then we'll truly know what happiness is.

Happiness can be very elusive at times and sometimes really can only be measured by the absence of feeling sad. What many don't realize is that being alone is not the same as being lonely. Many times it provides the time and tranquility to reflect on the path in life that brought you to where you are now. I hope that you are safe and that Halo does not get too nervous on the 4th. Also your English is very good and very slight accent are "Normal" for the Bay Area. Everyone one has some sort of accent here... even I, who was born and raised in CA have an accent that is particular to where I was raised.

@stloh3475 there is an idea that Adam and Eve are our human representatives in the garden. It implies that we would have made the same decisions they did. Other Christians believe that we do not inherit the original sin of Adam and Eve, but each human sins at some point.

There is a Danish author Meik Wiking who wrote several books about happines and founded intute that study happines. One called "Small book of Hygge" interesting book for those who want to know more about happines. Finding friends in older age is difficult even inside your own country. I live in Ukraine and had to move twice because ruzzians bombed my city. And now I live in other part of the country and it's hard to find friends either. So it's not because of you. It's common problem for many.

LOL. This is called selective problem solving. You're going to have a lot of issues in life if you think these problems are really holding you back, I hope you're just doing this to make a channel. If you're in your car alone in the dark you have every right to be scared, but not surprised if someone comes after you. Living in your car is not a necessity, your parameters are just ridiculous.

As a first gen immigrant with similar background who had the same "trapped between two worlds" kinda thought in the past, I would just say that, I got through it by realizing that it just doesn't matter. I think we as human beings, especially when we were younger, just want to fit in so badly, consciously or subconsciously. But if you really think about it, yes we will never be fully this or fully that, but we also have experience and memories that people who live their whole life in one place will never have (not saying there's anything wrong with that), and I for one cherish that. As for the comment you highlighted in your video, yes it is somewhat true but that's not a valid reason to reject someone. If people don't want to hang out with you because of your accent and/or demeanor, culture background, etc.. you really should be thanking them for staying away from you, those are not the people you wanna be friend with anyway.

Hi, Hanna! Hope all is well. Never allow negative comments to define you! Only your words and actions can define you, and only you have that power. Of course, negative comments can be hurtful, and it's okay to feel bad about it, but use it as a motivation, inspiration, and energy to help you achieve and succeed in everything that you set your mind to and plan. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy! Everything else is manageable! Pops
