I’m so glad you shared this because I had so many questions. Like did you have to run new cables? Was it hard lol. But you pretty much answered all of them. Thanks again!

I say it was worth it. Let me know if you need any thing. I simply haven't had time to post the whole video. Most of all, good luck!

i am new to bikes, still learning....one thing i always think is.....these bars are really tall....are they comfortable during ride? like on these or similar bars, arms are either horizontal or little bit upwards, doesnt it pain or feel uncomfortable in this position? i mean i m just concerned about arms, i know seating position is comfortable like this as back is straight.
@thisisfbp2 жыл бұрын
I personally never though I would change the stock handlebar because I loved the look so damn much. But it hurt my back like crazy. The taller handlebar helps me keep my back straight while riding and my arms stay flexed because the bar drops slightly towards the rider. I can definitely ride longer now. So I do not regret the decision a bit thought it was a hard decision to make for me at least. Good luck.

Nice video bro! I have a 883iron 2018model and I gonna change the handlebar. I have a question that did you try 12in handlebar before you changing the 8.5? Why you did not choose a taller one?
@thisisfbp2 жыл бұрын
@Liu will - for my height 5ft 4in, the 12 in handlebar would be too tall. I ordered the 8.5 and dry fitted it and it felt comfortable or I would likely have ordered one taller or shorter. My only concern with taller handlebar would be the reduction of weight on the front tire/forks that usually comes from my hands and upper body. Someone mentioned that super light weight on front tires can be one reason for tank slappers/death wobbles. Happy to answer any questions. Good Luck!

@@thisisfbp appreciate of your answering. I’m 5.8ft and concern with the height because of the external appearance.:D. Now I have to think about the weight and risk of wobble. Anyway thank you so much and good luck to you.

@@liuwill4643 remember that there is rise and also pullback. So you still have a lot to play with even with 8.5. There’s good video by @RevZilla and very recently by @Bret Tkacs.

There should ALWAYS be a bend in your elbows when sitting on a bike. Otherwise you are supporting a lot of your upper body weight with your arms and shoulders. Most of your weight should be supported by the seat. When bent over because of those low bars, you also have to bend your neck back to see straight ahead. Almost a crotch rocket riding position, which is designed for high speeds on a race track. How did you extend the wiring?
@thisisfbp3 жыл бұрын
Agree with you Gerald. With the taller handle bar I am definitely more upright. And since the handlebar is closer to my body, I get a slight bend on my elbows too. The handlebar cable kit I purchased (link in video description) came with extension cables. The wires are color coded. So I just needed to connect the correct wire then heat shrink so they don’t come apart.

What are those handlebars? Thanks

Fernando, I had to dig that info since I installed it couple years back. But it was ordered from HD catalog and the part number is 56075-07. Name is Mini-Ape Handlebar cost about US 90 dollars. Hope this helps.

I think I feared more than I had to. Once I started I had the work and steps well organized. I also ended up with tons of pictures and videos which I wanted for reference if I forgot how parts go together. Good luck. But let me know if you need help. Just comment here should be fine.

Did you have to buy longer cables ?
@thisisfbp2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did. The stock cables do not work for the risers I installed. I have the details for the cable set I used in the description.
