Great speech! I've been following you for quite a while. My husband and I sold our large Victorian home and bought a toy hauler. We're currently stationary in Omaha to be near our kids and grandkids, working and saving up to start travelling in December. He's training to be an RV inspector and I'm working on opening my own Etsy shop. Huge life change! But we don't miss our old life at all.

Thank you very much for the important perspective. Great reality check. My wife and I retired at 62, sold everything, bought a used motorhome and hit the road. My sister passed away the year we started our full time RV adventure. She was fine one day and had a brain aneurism and was gone. That's how fast it can happen to anyone. That was almost 3 years ago and we have been loving every minute of this life as "free range humans." Everyone lives this lifestyle differently. We spend about half our time in campgrounds and inexpensive RV parks with wonderful neighbors, in every sense of the term - because they're having the time of their lives too. We all want to be there, and that makes all the difference. The rest of the time we love to boondock (free dispersed camping on BLM or Forest Service land) in some of the most beautiful places imaginable. Actually, unless you've been there, and experienced it yourself, you probably can't imagine it. It's some of the most profound almost religious experiences I ever had. We have less than 1/2 the income that we did before we retired, but are able to save twice as much money in the bank because our living expenses are maybe 1/3 of what they were when we were living in a stick and brick home. Plus we're living the lifestyle of the rich and famous that others only dream about on an early retirement with social security and a meager pension. If we can do it, so can you.
