Hi everyone! Thank you for sharing your thoughts in the comments. I just want to clarify that I’m incredibly grateful to live in a beautiful place like Maui and for my quiet and simple life here. My day to day is repetitive, but I do not think my life is boring. I am using the word “boring” in the title because this is how society or mainstream media would see my life. I have no desire to live an outwardly interesting or extravagant lifestyle because I find my joys in everyday ordinariness. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this. Thanks for watching :)

Many people are struggling with work everyday just to be able to lead a normal life. So not everyone has the luxury of living a life like that
@cupcake10653 жыл бұрын
@@therealcjc I think my comment went over a lot of peoples’ head. I am not ignoring the fact that not everyone has an opportunity to have a peaceful or relaxing life. I am well aware of that. All I was trying to say was, whatever life you have, be grateful for it.
@therealcjc3 жыл бұрын
@@cupcake1065 I get your point and I do agree. I'm just saying that that piece of advice is more applicable for people who are already leading a relatively comfortable life and are simply pursuing desires needlessly. It's surely a sad state of affairs that "just living" in the way that you've described (read, cook, paint, walk) has become a sort of luxury which many people can't afford, isn't it? I take the view that to be able to enjoy life in such a simple manner is something that everyone should be able to do - I'd go so far as to say it is a basic need. But we're all born in circumstances beyond our control. Some of us have it harder than others through no fault of their own. Cest la vie. So for those who lead the hard lives, it's harder to find that silver lining everyday, although everyday should be viewed as a gift; a present.

Personnally i'm the opposite of what's described in this video and i don't judge people. Tho i think that what's matters is to at least try, to see what you actually prefer. Because staying home could be perceived as "easier", if somebody never actually tried travelling, going to nightclubs etc i could think that this person might be missing cool stuff and i find it sad. But if that person actually made his choice knowing both sides i find it completely fine.

The hardest part about being an introvert is being mis-understood. Very early in life, you are made to feel as if your way is wrong. When in fact it's not right or wrong, it's just my way. Biggest misnomer of introvert is that we don't care for others. I think the real problem is we care too much, we take on others feelings and hardships, its draining. And I came to realize others seek us out for that reason which is why they get so upset when we are not available. We like to be alone, but we don't like to be lonely, that's an introvert in a nutshell(meaning connections are just a deeper concept to us than just having a good time).

Take my food and bring their stinky dogs in with them. Good Luck to them poor fools. Nothing goes away its all material out there. I was once told by my so called "friend" in middle school that I was boring, and have always kind of been made to feel that I am, compared to others because I too am a homebody who is also introverted, shy, and I deal with anxiety and other health issues. KZbin isn’t social media perhaps ? Dumbo. This woman is spoiled to her bones, she doesn’t need to do anything nor justify her existence, she’s just being given everything, she doesn’t need to struggle just to get by. This life of vacation is what everyone would wish to live, but the world doesn’t give a house, food, water and electricity for free. The rest of the world need to justify their existence by working, and that’s all life is made out of for the majority people, and it’s not as if we had a choice. Flipping beach thinks the world is only under the pressure to be seen as “having a great life”, being famous or making 6 figures per year, she’s completely delusional because she’s been spoiled by her rich parents, she doesn’t know the reality that the rest of the world has to justify their existence by working, they don’t have time to be goofy and decide whenever they feel like waking up, the majority of people can only afford a few days a year living like this, on holidays that is. She’s not an example, she’s a spoiled brat very dangerous an boasting that everyone should call out for her idleness, she’s even shameless about it and try to justify it how life is so “gentle and easy when you do nothing, a boring life, whatever the others think”. What a fucking joke. That’s what most people are looking for, but they can’t get it unless they sweat the shit out of their souls and bodies first, she’s got everything for free, it’s just life on easy mode she has, everybody can do it.

Study, learn, chill out and exercise at home. For some people this is boring because I don't go to a park, cinema, commercial centers. For me I've got all at home. Other people like to go to parties right now with the situation that's difficult for them, not being able to socialize in person. I know some people like to have a drink or other out of home activities and that's OK for them but I panic at the idea of going into an adventure when I can just be comfortable at home. The only adventures I want are those in novels, video games and whatever project I've got at work. I know I won't get a girlfriend or a wife that way but I'm happy nonetheless.

I am 74 and have only experienced the truth of this in the last couple of decades. Your life is an expression of deep wisdom, rare in our world, particularly in someone so young. Thank you for the lovely reminder of what is truly important!

Last week my tv broke down. I directly went looking for a new one. But the 1st night without i noticed the peacefull feeling. Reading a book. Staring at the birds outside. So relaxed. I'll save some money and won't buy a new one.

With the latest fashion on productivity and hustle culture, we are judged for being boring but I think the reason for that is the unhappiness and feeling of not enoughness in those humans, so I dont care what they think and just hope that they can find satisfaction in themselves, too

I can go days without leaving the house. My family thought it was unhealthy and have tried to get me out of the house, which is annoying. I don't like to frivolously go outside. I only go outside when there is something I want or need to do.

Same. Although I count my own big yard as 'the house' so I do go outside and still call it 'the house.' There were a lot of people around me for a long time who made me feel like something was wrong with me, but they've either moved on or accepted it. I work four days a week and sometimes when I go back to work, the sound of my own voice is like a little shock to me because sometimes I don't hear it for days at a time.

Omg I feel you have spans where I don't leave my house for months at a time. My family is kinda on my case about it too. It's like I don't have a lot of money everything costs more than I have why do I need to leave the house. Everything I do is at home why do I need to leave. MY origin of this life wasn't a great one it was actually a near death experince that I am still trying to recover from but I may not ever fully. It happened ten years ago medical issues that came out of nowhere and the doctors only made it worse. I look normal to people like nothing ever happened but I have some internal issues that still throw me for a loop. I have taken up yoga and hopefully that helps me with some things. but as I get older I really don't like the idea of being out much. ten years ago was different but part of what has changed is most of my friends have families or relationships or careers of their own so they don't have the time to do whatever plus I don't drive anymore thanks to said medical issues. So it makes seeing people harder. I think I've made the best out of things I play guitar I exercise I clean my relatives I live with clean home and other projects I can do I help cook It's not worthy of the gram or whatever but it works. I so hate social media sure I do some of it but not facebook the gram or tick tok I just think all that stuff is just people pining for attention or to ramble about whatever. I prefer connections with people and not just hey look at this thing I did. I really am a simple girl I enjoy good tv shows a good conversation good food music sure I like cute clothes and stuff but I never leave the house to wear them. Also makeup is expensive and as a transwoman whose family isn't 100% on board with it I can't really wear it so it's kinda whatever. I will leave the house sometimes but usually just to see friends when I can or some family but the pandemic put a lid on that. It's fine though. I am glad I am not alone in this.

You're totally right. I am an introvert, and for the longest time, I didn't admit that. I was stuck in a cycle of trying to fit in and do what peer pressure tells me and always ALWAYS feeling exhausted until my husband, who is also an introvert, encouraged me to accept myself. I now live my life as I want, and we consider a day at home watching Netflix and playing with our cat, the best day ever. ❤

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” - John Lennon

Only people who aren't comfortable being alone and need other people to validate them would call "simple" people boring. Happiness from the simple things makes for a happy person.

Thanks for sharing. I am a small organic farmer, so I am always home :-). But most are caught up in the world to spend money on things for happiness. Which makes them a slave to more work and hardships with money. I have a friend that lives a very simple life. And his joy of not having to buy things to make him happy is just awesome. My granddad always told me you got to make your own fun on the farm :-)

I can relate. Being a homebody, an introvert doesn't mean you have a boring life. It is where you can find peace, contentment & joy even in the simplest form, it is where you're comfortable with. I remember someone told me I have a boring life because I didn't go out, but I know myself going out won't make me happy, doing things that most people do in the society won't make me happy either. -You have a beautiful & meaningful life ☺️

Me too! I have the best time on my own at home, working in my garden, reading or walking around my neighborhood. I am calmer and have more energy this way. When I have to interact with people, like at work or a social gathering, it leaves me completely drained.
@linneasimchah1621 Жыл бұрын
@@raquel5401 Totally. Interacting with people leaves me so drained. I eventually forget what it's like and feel like I should be engaged more, but afterward am reminded why I went such a long time avoiding people. People tend to respond well to me, but when they want to interact more, I always pull away because it's so distasteful to me. For about 10 years straight in my 30s, I did a lot of globetrotting with my husband. While it certainly was a privilege and I appreciated gaining perspective, I'm completely satisfied with that travel time and no longer wish to travel again. I'm such a homebody now. People cannot relate to enjoying such a quiet calm life.

My only thing is that I think you should try to face your fears at least once in a while and get out of your comfort zone because that's the only way you can grow. I kind of get annoyed how people have turned things like being an introvert or a homebody or an extrovert or whatever into a badge of honor that becomes the forefront of their existence.
