I get asked a fair bit about why I left America to return to India, when I had the chance to settle down there. Here's my answer.

@@peterfernandes8472 Then it is even more important to return to or remain in India rather than escaping. Imagine what would have happened if founding fathers of modern India like Gandhi, Ambedkar never returned to their country after completing their studies abroad and settled there dreaming of a "secure" life. It is the duty of the educated Indians to stay in and build this nation first, whoever moves out with the mentality of escaping are no less than the selfish politicians. Besides that, no political party or neta is permanent, parties come and go likewise netas retire and die too. India will not remain the same forever. And moreover the so called "developed" countries are not problem free at all. Infact new social tensions and issues are emerging in the West due to rising number of outsiders from non European countries, you already know whats happening right at this moment in france, switzerland etc,

Very nicely explained, Jamie! I remember meeting your Dad & Mr.Naseeruddin Shah at Prithvi theater in Bombay in 1979 when I went to watch an English play called “Zoo Story” in which only the 2 of them acted and there are no other characters in that play! Very gripping psycho story with lengthy dialogues in it and they both acted so incredibly well! Both were so humble & simple that they were standing by the ticket desk meeting, greeting & thanking every person who bought a ticket to watch the show! I can see that same sort of simplicity & humbleness in your videos now! Interesting, you mentioned you were in Boston. I was born & raised in Madras but have been living in Boston for 30+ years now! I am glad you’re living your dream in India very successfully! Wish you the very best! God bless.

You have your dad's flair for speaking - James. I am born in 1985 and I grew up watching your father in the movies. I used to marvel at how wonderfully he spoke pure Hindi. He was a great actor.

I cant forget 4 times meet with Shree Tom Alter Sahab [FTII entrance exams time]. I sung "Tere bina zindgi se koi shiqwa" for him in our first meet, and after every time we met, he asked me to sing it again for him.. It was heatbreaking to see his missing hand thumb in our last meet... Miss you sir 😢❤️

Of course as an actor he was brilliant, he has played different roles in all mediums be ot tv,theater or cinema. His bedt role according to me was Keshav Kalsi in Junoon. His performance was quite subtle but you could discern that he is very dangerous Don.I had congratulated him during Junoon right in front of Woodstock school .He might had come to see you perhaps.

Born and brought up in UAE, after living a splendid life in the country which I used to call my home country, 35 good years and decided to come back to my real home country INDIA. Was hard in the beginning, as time went by now after 2 years…it’s comfortable living here as well.

There were many foreigners who immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of India right from Annie Beasant to Samuel Stokes (who happened to be an American) to Smt. Soniyaji Gandhi. I got very surprised when I listened to you speaking fluent Hindi.Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani. Lekin yahan to dil aur dimag dono Hindustani hain!
