Hey Katie! Thanks for sharing these benefits! As a DP 2 student I agree! However, doing IB in Germany is not that well recognised if you want to go to pursue further education there... (German qualifications are strongly preferred) and the government does unfortunately set up a couple hurdles for IB students when wanting to study there (only several subjects are allowed, some are not accepted at all (Computer Science, ESS for example), HL Maths must be taken (they don’t care if you maybe want to study art/Languages later, HL maths is required) etc.) and there are in general no entrance exams to get into German universities!
@zoelolitaoreilly65444 жыл бұрын
You don't have to take HL math if you take an HL science (either biology, chemistry, or physics) for Germany! You must take either HL math or one of those HL sciences though.
@shayuka43004 жыл бұрын
@@zoelolitaoreilly6544 I didn't know that! Always thought you have to do HL Math... But, yeah, wouldn't necessarily recommend IB for Germany anyway.

An advice I can give to those who are thinking about becoming part of the Ib is ANALYZE BEFORE MAKING THE DECISION. Ib is a programme that helps you to develop researching and analytical skills yes, that is true but it is not going to change your life significally. I remember that some people said that ib was the best that happened to them, it changed their lives, etc. That was not definitely true. Maybe your coordinator has told you that you are going to have more opportunities regarding universities and since you have the diploma you are going to enter different institutions directly without taking a test, well that is not totally true and in fact it depends on the career you choose. In my country if you are going to study medicine, ib is not worth it because all the universities will require you to pass the pre university course independently whether you were ib or not. But if you are thinking about studying economics then the ib will be worth it because you will enter directly and you even have the option to homologate some subjects ( As long as you have studied economics or business and management in ib, if not, forget about it) but this benefit only happens if you decide to choose a private university, if you want to study in public university your ib diploma will not be recognized and you will have to take test as everyone else. BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR COUNTRY TOO, SO INVESTIGATE TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND. Soooo finally I can SAY: THINK WELL and make the decision based on the career and the university you want to study just in that way will be worth it. Do not worry if you decide not to choose the IB, it's ok, I mean sometimes we Feel pressured by other people but just live you life in the way you want and well all the answers are inside you so Good luck.

good evening Katie, im Paloma from Argentina!!!! Im currently a sophomore in high school with 4 days left until I finish this year and become Junior. This first year in the IB program has put me to the roof, in a positive and negative way. currently, Im doing my Economics HL IA essay about a sugary drinks tax as a solution to a negative externality on consumption (microeconomics), and am struggling with the evaluation table and structure of this kind of two-sides essay. DO you have any tips on that, or just about economics? Its the subject I am struggling the most, plus Sports, Health and Human Science, which is a new one at my school. And, if you have any links from IBlieve that can help me with the internal assessments from all the IB program, that would really help me a lot. Thank you, and I hope you're doing well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Katie, thank you so much for always being there by our side and supporting us! If you don't mind, I have a question regarding my grades and it''s been making me feel very anxious. In eight, ninth and tenth grades, my grades were OKAY (no fives, but was by no means perfect sevens). This was because there were classes like design class, music and food technology that were not my forte. I'm now in IB1 and for my first term, I managed to get all 7's except in one class - and hopefully I can continue this trend. However, I'm really worried - will my ninth and 10th grades put me at a disadvantage? Will it be impossible to get into ivy league universities? Sorry that it became like a rant, just really nervous T____T Thank you Katie
