Why I Ditched Google Search: The End of an Era

I'm taking a break from Google Search. Between increasingly unhelpful search results and Google’s disregard for ethical publishers, I’ve had enough of Google Search for the time being and am excited to branch out and see search results from a new perspective.
When was the last time your default search engine was set to something other than Google?

I switched to Kagi. This search engine does not use any ads. This can be done because it uses subscriptions to pay for its development. The cost is minimal and the results are impressive. Its better that Google ever was. As was pointed out in this video, there are occasions where I will use Google, Bing, Gemini, or ChatGPT. It all depends on what I am after. But Kagi is my main engine.

I navigated college from 2018-2022 with bing search. Never had any issues

I hear you-it’s really annoying when extensions mess up like that. Maybe give DuckDuckGo a shot for more privacy, or Ecosia if you’re into supporting environmental causes with your searches. Finding the right fit can make a big difference!
