Hey, Tatii!! Just wanted to thank you sooo much. I really can't be grateful enough that I found your videos right before I started doing my own gel polish nails. And really my nails just got better and healthier thanks to you. I had a traumatizing experience when I was young (a nail tech cut my eponychium and I bled and passed out). Your advices are literally the best and the only ones I trust. Wish I could show you how my nails and cuticle are thanks to you. Loads of love ❤️

Thank you! I have been on this awful rollercoaster/cycle of getting acrylics and then taking them off to then get them again a month later bc my natural nail is so damaged. I have removed the acrylics (correctly) and I have stopped using my Efile. I can’t believe how much damage I was causing to not only my nail but my skin around my nails. Thank you for making this channel to educate. ❤

Hi! I just found your videos and I believe I've watched all the steps in your manicure process. I am getting ready to buy a kit and start doing my own gel manicures. I love your videos and they are filled with so much information! I do think it would be really cool and helpful for newbies like me if you had a video of the start to finish process. It would help me remember the whole process better. 🥰

I’ve done a couple videos on my manicure process and polishing to perfection I am revisiting this step-by-step I started with how to properly soak off gel the next video would be my next step in the manicure process which is filing meals then cuticle cleaning and prep and the polishing I’m breaking it down step-by-step to really go over all the details and not make it a 25 minute video definitely stay tuned more is on the way!

I do my own nails. Use various forms of gel for extention because I like temporary length and I find your videos very helpful. I do have an e-file that I like to use to remove the bulk of the nail extension before I soak off the rest. Your videos have great suggestions that I've used in helping me do my own nails so I'd love for you to make a video about your personal feelings on e-files.

love your videos because they are so educating on caring for natural nails. I was wondering what you thought about the silicone buffers and using them on efile and very rarely if needed a drill bit to buff the sides of nails or I think they are called lateral folds. If so, is it safe to get right up to the nail bed? That skin calluses so bad on my fingers probably from typing at work and makes my nails a wreck. Like even cleaning up nail polish is a mess when that skin is calloused. I know it will harden if you over due it but that is a different hard than calloused dry skin. How often is over doing it? I am one that you mentioned with cuticles that are so over grown and thick and I swear glued down w super glue lol so I try to do my cuticles once a week. Is once a week too much? Maybe every other week for buffing skin? Also what are your thoughts on glass cuticle pushers if im careful and gentle but just use them to move the cuticle? I get a good one but going back to my super glued cuticles, it's so much more effective that the metal. They are super tough!!

Hi Tati, I’m so happy I found you!. I do want sexy, clean-looking healthy nails, but I don’t want to spend 100$ a month on salon manicures. So I just started buying my own equipment for my homemade manicures. Total beginner. So I’ll definitely be waiting for all your new videos and IG posts, as overall health (including nails) is a great concern of mine. Can you recommand good quality non toxic uv/led gel polish brands? Thanks. :-)

I’m so happy to see you taking your nail health into your own hands! I would definitely recommend the polishes that say 9free or 12 free etc Those will have less toxic chemicals than regular gel polish. I love Beetles gel because you get kids that give you your base coat topcoat Matt topcoat a variety of colors and they are extraordinarily affordable. I have proven through my reviews that are brand is quality and you can definitely expect good long lasting wear! I’m currently testing out products that are hypoallergenic and also accessible to those that are not male professionals this next year coming up has so many product reviews I’m excited!

Hi! Be consistent! Pushing back cuticle is essential. I would recommend a nail shape with rounded edges… even if u like square round out the edges. If you have nail break issues then def keep them rounded. If you haven’t seen my video on my handmade cuticle oil check it out! You really don’t need product to make improvement but it can help! Our cuticle repair oil helps with growth and overall strength of nails not just cuticle 😉 I’ll be doing a video on tips for daily nail care sitting so definitely stay tuned

Hi Tati! Great video and very informative. I would love to see your updated video on cuticle care and how you prep it for gel manicure. I’ve tried the e-file method before and while it did get my manicure to no longer have lifting at the cuticle, I generally am not fan of putting something that is going at thousands of rotations on my natural nail and do need to be careful around that eponychium. Also, what are your thoughts on cuticle nippers? In my research, I have found that a lot of nail techs are saying they’re cutting the cuticle but they’re actually cutting the proximal nail fold that may be stretched over onto the nail. And instead of cutting it (since it’s live skin though it may appear dry) it should just be regularly pushed back and it will gradually stay back over time.
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
Yes cuticle video will be coming soon and it will answer all those questions how you should be removing and when nippers need to be used what you should actually be using them for because you are absolutely correct nail techs are cutting things that they should not be cutting. Expect a video within the next 2 to 3 weeks 😉

Thank you so much for the info! Would you suggest we just trim our own cuticles ourselves before a manicure? Cleaning up the cuticle with E-files seems to be the norm for nail techs I go to and I've never liked it... but I didn't know how to approach the concern.

I know it is rough because it is the most common thing to do but let me tell you most of what we are used to in the nail salon is everything we shouldn’t do I know it’s crazy but my mission is to bring genuine education so that we can start changing that! I personally would recommend that you learn to do your own nails LOL it’s what I did and I have so many people that I’ve started doing that on their own and their nails are healthier and better than when they were going and paying someone to do it. But at the very least yes I would get comfortable pushing back and removing your own cuticle so that when you go get your nails done you can tell them that you don’t need that step to skip it. I’ll be doing more videos on cuticle care and make sure you were following me on my IG I will definitely be doing more on there to really Others to see how easy it is to clean up the cuticle the right way! Thank you so much for your viewership it is greatly appreciate it I promise there is so much more to come!

Would you still recommend using cuticle nippers to cut off the extra part of the skin that starts to lift up at the edge of the cuticle? I’m not sure if that would be the eponychium or still the cuticle and if cutting it off would be harmful. Thank you!
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
If it is white meaning completely dried out and dead yes nip it but do not nip anything more than that don’t nip anything that is just Callused To get rid of hard calloused skin around the nail you need to stop irritating it no messing with it no touching it and definitely no cutting because that’s all causing the skin to get hard. You will see the skin goes back pretty quickly once it’s not irritated and moisturizing definitely helps. But whatever skin is completely white and dead can be nipped. I’ll be doing more detailed videos on critical care so much more to share!

What bothers me is I’ve been at 4 salons and they force you to do everything wrong just for speed and clients think it’s ok and that it’s ok to cut so much of live skin because it looks dry

How do you feel about gel overlays on natural nails?
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
Many of my clients do a structured gel overly however I do only use soak off gel in my shop. My main focus is ensuring the health and strength of my clients natural nails so anything that could possibly work against it I do not offer in my shop. Using hard gel overlays and acrylic requires a lot of e-file prep work and essentially leaves product on the nails for a long amount of time because you’re just filling in the new growth and all of those things really aren’t the best to maximize natural nail health

Good old fashion cuticle pusher. You can search it up on Amazon any of the stainless steel cuticle pusher‘s will work They are usually just a couple bucks. Beauty supply stores should definitely have them in stock at all times as well. I’ll be doing a more specific video on cuticle care soon!

Hi, I have a question for you. My nails are in pain and very red with lines underneath my nails after I had my gel fake nails taken off. My nails feel weak and I don’t why it what to do.
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
So sorry your going through that. Unfortunately that’s simply because the tech doing your nails did not things right. You can def get your nails back to health but it will take time usually about 3 months give or take depending on how long your nails are and how quickly they grow. I did a video on bringing your nails back to health after acrylics check it out! Tells you exactly what you need to know

I wish I found your videos before I went and got my nails done. I can’t stop biting my nails, and I thought getting acrylics will help, and I was so wrong. I still have a set on, but I can already tell that she messed up and caused a lot of damage 😔
@TheNaturalNailGuru
@TheNaturalNailGuru 2 жыл бұрын
First things first! Stop biting your nails. Do not put your nails in your mouth, don’t touch them, don’t pick at them. that is one of the greatest detriment to our nails is us touching them. It is unfortunate but fact that most nail techs that we come across do not do the right thing… it’s usually about a quick service fast money and your nails suffer. Definitely make sure to watch my videos so you can at least see what right looks like. You can definitely help yourself get your nails healthy and hopefully know what to look for in a nail tech.
