I’m a 50 year old scooter rider, and while John Reyes is the only scooter I watch, I actually watch a lot of skateboarders (and I’m not a skateboarder). I’ve actually taken a lot of good thinking from guys like Mike Valelly (spelled wrong!), and applied it to my own sports like road cycling, cyclocross, and rock climbing. Definitely enjoy your videos as well, and like the idea of progressing my scooter riding daily. Cheers!

In my earlier days as a climber, I was a boulders, occasional outdoor top-roper, ice climber on two occasions, and otherwise a gym rat, doing 5.10s and V3s. I took up climbing again after 15 years away, mainly because I’d rather have my kids climb the walls of gyms instead of the walls of my house!

When I was young I primarily skated with my group of friends. 3-6 people usually, we lived in a big city so it’s safer too. However, the older I got the number went down and around 18 years old I primarily skated with my biker friend. It’s nice having variation to me. Snowboarding I have a lot of friends who ski and we all hype each other up, same idea. Your trick pool is unreal. Nearly every video I walk away with new ideas, thank you!

Between skating, filming, gaming and spending time with my fiance, I totally get it. The guy who filmed my first laser down a set was a really great scooter guy and now were decent friends and have fun seshs whenever we catch each other somewhere! (I like this style of video much better than comparing park to street!) No one ever wants to skate where I do and they always go farther out than I'm willing to. I'm sure some people think I'm standoffish but I'm not. I just heavily enjoy making my life as smooth as possible, if I have to finagle a session together all the time its too much planning not to mention gas is insane rn. Skating close to home has never been more convenient and fulfilling but when it's all you can do it becomes so much more valuable. Also never get any filming done if there's too many people, which I don't mind cause my channel is literally 33 subs lmao but even that is so relatable as a creator in general.

@thepancakemann2 жыл бұрын
The real switch test is hill bombing. That's how you learn in the skate game - with pain. Pain and building your switch ankle strength. Ollie's are hard when you start. recommend you ride everything everywhere. The tricks come later. Learn power slides as soon as possible.
@thomasblake51742 жыл бұрын
@@thepancakemann good advice. My main goal right now is better switch and maybe slappys. I ride 90a wheels does that matter for power slides or do I need to use my 100a’s?

Do you skate? This sounds like the perspective and unwanted advice of someone who doesn't. Skating is weird bro. I hate to break it to you, but it's also an individualist pastime. The most progress happens alone and skaters who skate by themselves do it for a reason. I've skated for 24 years now. I don't do it for or with others. I consider that healthy. Weird. If you rip, stay rippin' 🤙 Otherwise you're trippin' 🚭
