For years, I've felt the same way for Westbrook. I don't wanna see him win a chip as well. But seeing Russ play for the Clippers, repurposing himself, which made him a valuable teammate to Kawhi and PG, I'm rooting for Russ. And now the freaking beard is on board again, to mess the system once again. Seriously, I can't fathom why teams keep hiring him. I never wish something bad to happen for someone. But good lord James is making the NBA which I loved since I was in elementary look bad and stupid. I wish teams would one day wake up and end everything with James. See you in China or the Philippines or wherever.

Westbrook has always cared, he just has had trouble adjusting his game and realizing what his real skill are (it isn't jump shots). You're right about "dribble, dribble, dribble", "I am the system" and the no defense. Very problematic. At least, he could try this time to share the ball and play for the team, and to put massive efforts on defense. Everyone would appreciate. Despite of that that would be cool for the Clippers (a team that never won NBA championship), with some players like Leonard, Westbrook and George, to win the championship this year. But not with Harden as MVP.

My favorite part of the season was watching Mr. Big Ego Lebron James and the Lakers getting swept. Who would have thought that the clumsy looking Nikola Jokić, with a 6 inch vertical, would become one of the MVP Greats. His passing is even better than White Chocolate JWills. His basketball IQ, and court vision is off the charts. He throws buckets like Steph Curry, and he's unguardable in the paint. He's too strong for highly physical players to mess with. I'll be honnest. Harden was wrong for forcing his way out of Brooklyn and Houston the way he did but after the shit he caught in Philly I don't blame him for leaving. James hit 2 game winners and 2 40 point games in the Celtics series and they still blamed him despite the MVP being the main choker. Also Harden hasn't had a bad game yet for the Clippers so how can he be taking the blame for their losses. You can criticise the trade and say that the Clippers gave up to much for him but I just don't understand why this is the breaking point for a lot of people for James Harden. When Joel Embiid chokes again this year yall will see. James Harden was a massive contribution to the sixers so saying that he was a negative for the team is just objectively false. He was that system player on a 3rd seed team.

Harden had heart and intensity coming off the bench for the Thunder. Changed the tempo. Kept that energy for a bit in H-Town. Then figured out how to exploit some fouls, and revolved his game around that. Being absolutely lackadaisical when the ball isn't in his hand. Time caught up a few years back, age, lazy af, rule-changes, but people and (team owners) still believed James Harden was this scoring king. His high production was based on being allowed to travel and tangle himself up in defenses to draw fouls.

San Antonio, Miami and Golden State still play team ball. But yes, the majority of NBA team are a group of individuals running random plays... so sad.

Absolutely. Each era had a distinct 'personality'. We have been in the era of "self" since the retirement of Dirk. There are some exceptions as in every era but the so-called "great" players today really aren't when compared to the GREAT players of the past. They have insane skills nowadays but greatness and skilled are not the same thing. LBJ is all about self, Giannis is more about self than most realize (take his brother as a prime example), Harden is the poster child twin of LBJ for "self", Kawai Leonard, etc.

Lillard spent 11 seasons with Portland and harden spent 9 with the rockets, so I guess your criteria for loyalty is… not asking for the things you want? Harden knows better than anyone his window is closing and clearly does not want to spend time going through a rebuild with a franchise, every nets star left the team and the Philly situation was because they didn’t want to extend him so he left them. Fans create all these narratives when his teammates have all only had good things to say about him

Same thing happens with Westbrook. The media bashes them and yet their peers tell a different story. Is Harden perfect? No. But with the recent progress the Clippers have made along with getting help due to the injury to Mason Plumlee if they can just get their rotations together and take the rest of the season seriously they'll go far. What I find funny is when this team wins all these pundits are quiet. The babble about the good ol' days (which never existed) comes to an end. But the minute the Clippers lose or fail then the bullshit begins. Harden at least has never assaulted a teammate or coach.

The fact Sam Presti saw this a decade ago confirms why he has always been considered a great front office guy! He evidently knew something we all didn't and when push came to shove, Harden was gonna quit on the team.

I disagree. They wouldve been better off with Harden over Westbrook. They never won a ring so it couldnt have been any worse, and maybe Durant would still be there. He got so tired of Westbrook’s boneheaded play.

Teams today that will never take in James Harden: OKC, HOU, BKN, PHI, GSW, MIA, BOS, MIL, SAS, DAL. The Sixers took all of LAC’s wing defenders and everyone except Steve Ballmer saw that. LAC will not win another game without another trade to repair their broken defense.

Absolutely agree. His game style and attitude infuriates me. The over dribbling and playing for fouls was horrible to watch. It was painful watching someone go to the free throw line so often, especially when they initiated the contact. It was not in the spirit of the game.

At least at the end of his career Melo understood he was a dead weight on D and his ISO dominant style was no longer there and accepted a bench role. Harden has been at every team, system, teammates and still he thinks he's not the problem.
