At the grand old age of 60, the wife and I finally figured this out. Paid off ALL. debt, drive 20 year old vehicles, cook at home and learned to grow food. Turn off the TV and it is amazing how you figure out you want things, you don't need them. Good for you young man!

I retire in two weeks. I learned the same lessons about 6 years ago. Paid off the debt paid off credit cards & the car. Turned off the idiot/propaganda machine (TV) and enjoy a less hectic life. Red pilled and happier then ever in my life. Get out of the rat race and proverbial, 'keeping up with the Joneses'. Gotta go now... Ride my motorcycle to the gym. Best of luck to you and your wife!

I agree! He figured it out young! I turned off tv in my 40's and stopped going into stores as a past time, suddenly didn't need all those things they convince you you need. But it's been a process like most things, and now I am ready to downsize much more and start doing some of the things I've wanted to do even if I don't have others with the same interests. They can sit in their lives and criticize, I don't care anymore.

there's nothing wrong with the dream, it's just not for most people. if you don't see yourself marrying and starting a family settling down in a house doing the 9 to 5 until you're 70 and retiring to do cruises, the american dream isn't for you. it's not so much about giving up the dream, but rather about dreaming a better dream.

@@WM-mu8ep So we must live poor have very little or nothing? Are we really going to be happy with nothing or always having to watch what we spend or live below our means or not being able to eat what we want? What if you want to study travel etc. We all want to be happy. You can't be happy either if you have nothing. I suppose it depends from person to person. When we stop dreaming part of us also dies. We die unfulfilled. I think one of the secrets to live is living DEBT FREE so we can enjoy life more instead of working endlessly to pay off all of our debts. We only have one life we shouldn't deprive ourselves of certain things that are even considered basics. I believe in having balance & not chasing unnecessary things but I get what his saying. Living a simple life is probably living a more uncomplicated life but simple means something different for everyone. I get the point of living your own dream but who wouldn't want an abundant life?

@@tizb5178 yes but hes being cryptic about it. What I mean by that is hes saying just quit your job if you dont want to work. Well we have to work. He can only do that cause hes getting yt money. So hes being very cryptic and not being specific about how he gets by and gets his money. Hes leaving that for us to assume hes getting enough money from yt. We cant just quit a job we dont like. Hes not being honest and giving us all the details. Just saying quit your job is not enough. Yes he does need to give private info and I dont mean his social security or anything. By private he needs to tell us how he gets money food and place to shower and brush his teeth. If he cant explain in further detail how to survive when quitting your job then his advice is useless. It's just talk and not backing up what he says with logic.

Indeed. My parents taught me these same principles. Never being in debt if you are pay off as quickly as you can, always buy used in cash. Should you buy anything new know you are going to use it extensively. Live below your means. It's helped me in many situations in my life where I've saved up enough money to get by for emergencies always be in cash and if I did not have enough paying in installments when I had to. Had a lot of criticism especially when I've worked with others in the workforce, it's given me a safety net knowing that I I'm able to do it.

A huge part of chasing the "American Dream" is remaining on top of the "financial treadmill of life". You have to keep running on that "treadmill" in order to pay for everything. I'm 62, owned a couple homes, drove nice cars,....and for decades I had to keep running in order to pay for this dream. -- I don't know how younger people these days are going to be able to keep up. The prices of EVERYTHING these days is way higher (in proportion) to what it was for me, when I was growing up. In my 30's, I was able to pay for my house, bills, taxes, car, insurance, etc., on ONE mediocre-paying job. It's almost impossible to do that these days!

First, congrats on making that kind of money at 22! That is something. On the other hand, all it takes is one emergency (sickness, job loss, etc.) to wipe out your gains. Happened to me at 40. That tanked my entire investment in school, health, and finances over the decades, and it irks me to think I put in so many time and hard work just to be dumped down the chute once I got sick. I'm not trying to be bleak with this comment, but to say don't give them everything (you sound like you've got a head start in knowing that up front!).

65K per year may seem like a good amount of money, but it’s all relative to where your geographic location is. That being said, every year from the last few forward, that amount of liquidity is decreasing at a rapid rate on its purchasing power due to inflation thanks to our wonderful politicians that are diluting the money supply by unrestrained money printing. Cash currently is a liability. It’s like a big block of ice that’s melting at 15 to 20% per year currently. (The government CPI number of 1.9%-4.8% is misleading) At the rate of decline that our country is currently experiencing in many areas like, civil unrest, government overreach, attempted socialist programs, and the ever decreasing confidence of the world in our fiat global reserve currency, weakens the Dollar and brings it closer and closer to its collapse. If you haven’t already, it would be a good idea to start investing in hard assets.

A lot of men peak around 35-40, you have more time than you think. Men have all the advantages past 30 compared to women for sure, I wouldn't worry too much about things like marriage. I honestly think the best husband material actually tends to be between 35-40 and for women(for wife material) it tends to be early 20's and for women it's more about maintaining value, which is largely low body count and youth and so many young women don't realize this. By then you should be fairly sure if marriage is for you or not. That tends to be the age men really start to hit their stride too, it takes longer than young men think, especially considering how lacking in guidance young men are these days. For the most part I think most young men your age these days getting married young is a mistake, arguably marrying at all. I'm 35 now and the amount I've grown since 30 blows my mind, more than the entirety of my 20's. I can't stress enough how shocked you'd be how well top men around 35 can do with young attractive women that are marriage minded, compared to young women that want to 'have fun' all their prime, then when they're 30+ wonder why all the top older men are looking at younger women. Focus on bettering yourself, keeping up appearances, don't let yourself go, ect. You might actually reach peak physical attractiveness between 35-40 then, and have more wealth and whatnot than when you were younger, and be more of a man, it'll improve your chances of finding a young woman that wants to settle down. It takes some luck with genetics though, but it's really best to focus on becoming the best version of yourself you can until you're at least 30.

I often feel like a failure, that a lot of things are out of my control and are unattainable. However, we are both lucky in that we have family that are able to support and help us. We aren’t on the streets yet. And there are things that we can focus on, control and change. We can look after our bodies, be kind to ourselves and work on changing our mindsets. We just have to let go of things which are unattainable or holding us back and be inventive to achieve what we really want out of life. That’s when life became interesting again...really scary but really fresh! Curiosity returned for the neglected person I had become. Going forward I developed my ‘project of the self’. I didn’t need to judge myself anymore because I was too busy learning about who I was. What followed was I stopped the judgements in my head about everyone else and I gave everyone a “get out of jail free card”. I have more than enough problems to solve now because I’m truly living them instead of evading them. It makes for an interesting life once again.

I see so many people with careers they hate or miserable in their relationships, and its like THIS IS A CHOICE! Do you get that? Omgoodness, I'm literally crying at your post (not with laughter, but releasing heaviness of heart). You don't understand. As a fellow nurse, this was never my dream. This was God's dream for me. I've shared my heart with friends that I would feel so much better doing something different (teaching/leading the youth, singing background or with a group, praying/interceding for others, etc), and they don't understand. One friend has even called me self-centered because I'm "making [my life] it about me" when it's supposed to be about God. Upon my inspection, she hasn't yet been called to something she never wanted to do, doesn't have a degree, isn't working, etc. It's very easy to tell others what they are doing wrong when you don't even know the cost of my obedience to the Father. I'm trying to figure out now, how to make this life manageable for me. Because I have been losing motivation for life more and more ober the years, especially the more that I obey God. It's almost like I have terrible feeling like there's anything in it for me. I don't want to turn my back on Him, but I need something different. Thank you for your post.

I've lived the "American Dream" for most of my life. Worked in a job I generally liked. Married, bought her a house, adopted a wonderful child, etc. What it generally is for many men and women is sacrifice. I scrimped and saved in order to buy things and pay for things my spouse wanted. For me, those material things were largely a waste. Sacrificed happily to make my daughter's life better. Doing things my spouse wanted to do and gave up on my dreams. All life is balance, compromise, and finding what works for you and what you can give up. Your insightful and intelligent video is very entertaining and thought provoking.

@Jam Frost Snow have fun living in the coming New World Order and its locktight slavery for all. It will be a rude awakening from the American Dream, because the latter is not going to go on for ever. Matter of fact, it is in the process of imploding. Maybe you can't see it. Because Blindness is what happens when you seek safety and security in a material system and put your full reliance in your investments and the treacherous corporations they support. More and more evil and corruption have entered in: do you think that your continued well being will not be affected by what you have supported and allowed? We NEVER can escape reaping what we have sown. You think YOU will not have to deal with the consequences of YOUR choices in life? We are all held accountable for this. In any case, do you think the safety and security net that you have proudly constructed for your self is going to prevent Death from tapping you on your left shoulder and saying: "Your time is up. Come with me."
@catherinehazur7336
@catherinehazur7336 3 жыл бұрын
@Jam Frost Snow I appreciate your stated experience and your viewpoint. So thank you for your well thought out comments. However, history has extensively shown that one's home and land, whether 1 acre or 1000 acres, can be very easily stolen since the Communo-Fascist government rising to power has the intention to do that and can separate you from your private property by outright killing you, swindling you or by transporting you to a 2 room apartment that you may or may not share with another family where "you will own nothing and be happy." In either case, if there is no resistance, they will find a way to seize it for themselves. Its been done before: Read the history of Communist Governments. Read what happened to Cuban private landowners and their land when the Castro brothers and Che Guevara brought down the Government of Fulgencio Batista. Talk with former landowner refugees from the Cuban Revolution that managed to escape Cuba circa 1959. What did the Communist government of Lenin and Stalin do to the landed Peasants, the Kulaks and the Ukrainian residents and their properties in the Holodomor? How did they go about socializing private property throughout the rest of what evolved into the USSR? There are other examples from all over the world every place communism or fascism has touched down: What do you think happens to all the middle class private property owners here in the USSA being ripped off by "urban renewal" AKA gentrification programs and other sell off scams, the massive fires swallowing huge tracts of private property that will likely wind up being sold to foreign investors like the CCP for fractions of a penny on the dollar or outright seized by them for USSA debt, or the latest scam of the CDC declaring a moratorium on tenants paying rent because......wait for it.....COVID? Who do you think winds up with the property when the so called "owners'" in name only can not pay their mortgage or their property taxes thanks to the endless moratorium on behalf of the illegal squatters protected by the Government? You may have lived a very sheltered life here in the USSA up until now, and have never personally lived before under a Communist dictatorship, so you may think its some kind of joke and that it can't and won't happen here, even though it is BLATANTLY HAPPENING HERE bit by bit, and many just dont recognize it for what it is. As if there is something sacrosanct about the idea of private property here in the USSA. As if!! Just ask the former landowners here that they have already taken down...."legally" of course! All very "legal." They just haven't touched you.....YET. But they probably will. Some Americans are very naive and still place unwarranted trust in the Government by putting themselves in debt to them for the privilege of calling themselves "owners." So.........prove me wrong about any of this. I'll wait. In the meantime, check out how the current regime feels about property ownership by the middle class. They think it needs to be totally concentrated in the hands of the approved 1% elite. How do you think multiBillionaireBill Gates acquired his 500000 + acres of prime USSA farmland? Could that have been obtained from farmers driven off their land? Do you know? See what efforts are underway to sell out the country and its tangible asset of LAND any which way it can. There is no limit to the greed and corruption of these sociopaths. They are NOT your friends! Time is running out to wake up. Best wishes. Happy landings.

Very low stress compared to some people I know who prisoners of their mortgages are, car payments, credit cards etc. I have a small but nice house, older nice car, all paid for, and money in the bank. No stress.

i buy most of my clothes used, i don't buy fastfood too often - bring a lunchpack myself, i look at the cost for food before buying it, and i don't purchase things that i don't need. also, you don't have to go abroad for many vacations. can just choose a cheaper option closer to home, or be with family etc..

There is good research that people are more productive at the same job if they do the same amount of work in 4 days instead of 5 . People tend to hedge their energy to survive the five days. They know they need to get it done in 4 and plan better, are more efficient, have a better attitude, come back rested, don't waste the last weekend day preparing to come back.

I'm a 32 year old vagabond. Was in the military from 18-29 and never wanted to start a family while bouncing from duty station to duty station. BUT THEN I got medically retired & had no idea what to do so I hit the road. Fifteen countries so far. It's was jarring going from so much structure and guidance to literally doing whatever I want, free of any unfulfilling, obligatory responsibilities or relationships. Just me and God out here. Curious to see what becomes of America in the next few decades. Nice video homie.

The "American Dream" is an economic dream of wealth, based on conservative Right-wing beliefs. If you do some research you can see this point of view. When he talks about how society rejecting his choices when he is not inline with everyone's identification, he's not talking about the "American Dream", that is social ostracism. He in fact is living the "American Dream" even though he doesn't see it. The dream has always been the ability to be happy and successful in your own right. In this new age era, millions of people are living the same dream he is, so this thought is not a new concept

I’ll never forget a conversation I had with an electrician that was new in his field wiring up my Mom’s new central AC she had installed. I asked if he liked his job and he said “I have the house, the cars, the kids even though I barely get to spend time with them, but now I’m a slave to my job.” All I could say was wow and never looked at work and life the same. A conversation I was glad I had. I’m not where I want to be still but I know what I don’t want and get away from doing things I hate.

I agree with this message. I thought that "the dream" was what I wanted. Until I was 29 living with my parents b/c I couldn't afford NY rent and still have a decent quality of life. I left the US when I turned 30 and was able to save MORE money while earning less. Though I obviously miss my family and friends, I feel so much less stressed. A lot less pressure to "be somebody" in the eyes of people who probably don't even care. Now I just focus on the things that will personally make me happy even if it doesn't look like much to others.

You are "lucky" in the sense that you experienced trauma or like many young soldiers had a near death experience. I mean it!. An experience like that forces a person to find their true north. Most people are not wise enough or seekers enough to get to that point and they go through their whole lives not knowing what makes their soul sings. Oftentimes it takes a traumatic experience that forces you to take stock of your life and like a heat seeking missile changes course.
