I have a presa canario only had him for 6 months got him when he was 8 month old my friend couldn’t keep him anymore due to personal reason one most definitely being that he was their first dog which he’s most definitely not a breed for a first time dog owner. I never knew a thing about his breed but I fell in love with him and already had a bond with him and couldn’t let him go anywhere else but with me which now has been the best decision I have ever made not only is he protective but he’s loving, caring and most of all he’s my best friend he came into my life at a time where my mental was at the lowest but he saved my life since having him my mental health has been so much better and if I’m not doing good he can sense that and he’ll lay himself over my until I’m calm. Compared to my late dog he is harder to train but I love the challenge it keeps me and my mind busy and once he’s learnt one thing we’ve been working on we move onto the next. He is my whole world and happiness and I most definitely recommend a presa to anyone that has the time and patience

Absolutely agree with #3. Mine is a real challenge, but the payoff is even greater when you make that connection and get her to AGREE to work with you.

After two Italian mastiffs I to have an English. He is 4 and just amazing! If you are shy and don't like making small talk with strangers don't get a Mastiff LOL

I like dogs from the working dog group. They’re the easiest to train and live with. Right now I have a 5 year old English Mastiff. He was/is incredibly easy to train. He also gives me a feeling of security. I know he’d handle business if necessary.

I love molossers because they are lazy and protective. Yes they are a challenge to train because they are stubborn and headstrong, but they will absolutely fall in love with a family and pretty much protect them to the death. Lost my dane a few years ago, currently babysitting a cane corso pitbull mix, he is an amazing dog, loves children, calm and patient. I think my next dog will either be a bullmastiff or another great dane.

I had a rottweiler dogue de bordeaux mix beautiful boy and so accepting when we brought our baby boy home. He was basically a more chilled out rottweiler that liked nothing more than snuggling up with the family on the sofa. I would recommend this mix to anybody who likes the larger breeds.

I am looking at getting a South African mastiff next year I have owned Irish wolfhounds in the past which are amazing dogs but I have always loved mastiff breeds as well and because I love long walks the bullmastiff is not an option for me but there all great dogs

You can take long walks with a grown Bullmastiff. As long as weather is not heatwave temp. As most other big dogs, they love being out with their pack leader

For a more excersise type of Mastiff/molosser the Cane Corso or Rottweiler would be my choice. The Boerboel is more of a large property guard dog. Lovely Very big and heavy, where a Cane Corso generally is more lean and fit for longer excersise tasks. Their stamina is very high. Remember they were also used to hunt.

I love your channel, guard dogs are the best! I have an american akita cross (11months old) and next to being my canine compangion, he is also our guarddog. So i love his independent character, and he will let me know if someone is in our garden. He also is great at making sure to keeping people away from me if i walk with him at night (as a woman alone in the park, i do not like men to close to me at night) but he can be quite reactive ( in a playfull way ) during the day aswell towards other dogs. How do i make sure he does not pull when he wants to play, but i do not make him compleet dependent on my command for everything? (Because he needs to still be a guard dog when i walk him at night, or when we are at home, without telling him he needs to bark if someone tries to enter)

Just wanted to say that on your video on the differences between the Kangal and the Anatolian you repetitively mispronounced Anatolian by calling it the AnatoLONian shepherd. Is a standard american bully 80-90lbs (36-40kg) physically a good guard dog ?

Generally I'd say not but depends on the dog. A bully is a show line watered down pitbull or amstaff with some mastiff worked in there. The breed standard they were made for was to be soft friendly dogs. Their body's are too short and unfunctional to work in any capacity apart from their are some leaner xl ones i guess. But if the combination of dogs used were that way inclined their are definitely examples of good protectin bullys. But they aren't common.

I work crazy hours, and have a house full of ladies. My wife, mother and 12 year old daughter live with me. So to me, having a guard breed was commen sense. I have had American Akitas in the past, and now own a Cane Corso. Never had anyone so much as come on my property looking around. I call guard dogs "Bull$%#& deterrents". They keep unwanted attention away.

@@marlairons1205 He had a legal battle over the fact she was pit and I think they ended up officially declaring her something else. Idk how much of her is pit but it's definitely there. Could well be crossed with one of the breeds you said though. I wouldn't know.

@@hopetikvah4906 I didn’t know… I had heard there was something going on with her legally but never knew that. My daughter’s pit is the most loving dog she has. In fact she will almost knock you down just to get more loving and attention from anyone she knows.

Mine were incredibly quick and easy to train. I’ve had 2, no problems training either. Maybe it’s your approach.
