your hair looks lovely and healthy, I read an article a while ago about how watching fish can help with anxiety and just well being in general, I didn't really think much of it but I had wanted to get an aquarium for a while so went for it, it's only a 20 gallon but I've filled it with plants and today I got my nerite snails, just watching the bubbles from the filters and the little snails exploring their new home has given me so much joy in the last few weeks, and has really helped to calm me down when I start to panic which is happening a lot at the moment. sure the water changes are annoying (i've almost flooded my room so many times already) but it's so worth it, it's like having a little garden in my bedroom, I also have terrariums and potted plants. like you I really struggle to leave the house even if its just into my garden sometimes, so having all the plant life in my bedroom must be good for me. I don't know if its something you'd be interested in but maybe an aquarium would help with your anxiety as it has mine, you could even get a little mermaid statue to put in it.

Fish are a great way of soothing anxiety!! especially if you don't mind the upkeep of them, I've had all kinds of fish growing up but recently got my own tank in my bedroom with some lil guys in! I fully recommend Siamese fighters as they are very hardy and can live in a heated and filtered 5 gallon tank at the least! Only one male can be kept of its own species though. Mine is called Norbert and hes so good to watch swim around when I'm stressed!!!
@CryptidLarklin7 жыл бұрын
Norbert sounds awesome, when my tank is fully cycled I'm going to get some white clouds and some other small cold water schooling fish, i had them as a kid and watching them dart around the little (in hindsight was to small) tank was really fun, I loved their little faces.
@frostfang17 жыл бұрын
Sally xD gawd I hate fish. They are really beautiful to look at but Uhg... My mom got obsessed with them and put them in my sisters bedroom and the whole thing was supposed to be calming for her and her responsibility. Noooott. It always made me anxious. My sister moved out without the aquarium. My mom is not an animal person and doesn't give a fuck if they starve. I have my hands full. My parents insist on that door being closed...and our home is heated by a fireplace. So essentially the last two survivors died this winter from freezing to death. Lovely. I do love the sounds of water though, bit trying to find a small fountain where you hear the gurgle of water over the motor is difficult. And then plants. -sigh- I always wanted a room encased in plants. But my room is in the basement. One tiny window reserved for the cat, and despite the heater in that specific room, it's not insulated well enough to stay at a warm Enoch temperature to maintain plants. Though I am thinking about getting a heat lamp for the few that have survived this long. (bamboo, aloe, and a weird palm cactus thingy)

'wow' Hahaha 😂 Bah your hair is stunning either way. I feel the struggle, though! I'm kinda tempted to go back to my natural colour myself, I've not touched my roots in 7 months so I'm maybeeee on my way to my natural colour if I don't cave. The anxiety part is a weird one for me, it either seems to really help or just worsen it. If people stare then I just brush it off as them looking at my hair and I couldn't do that with normal hair. But then sometimes I want to be more anonymous and just blend in. The struggle is real. D: Anyway, LOOK HOW SHINY YOUR HAIR IS!

i just recently went through something similar to what you've been going through. about 5 ish years ago my maternal and paternal grandmothers were going through chemo treatments and lost their hair . a few family members and i shaved their heads to show our love. i ended up really liking not having to worry about my hair and kept it shaved for about a year. i then decided it was time to have fun, it took forever but i grew my hair out to my shoulders and died it the way ive always wanted too. i was finially able to do french braids and had the hair cut ive wantd since i was a teen. about a few weeks in to it being perfect, i realized how unhappy i was with it. it was always in a bun on my head and was giving me massive headaches. i toyed with shaving it off again and it kinda hurt thinking about it because of how long i had waited for it to be "perfect". i ended up shaving it all off and i feel soo much better now. i wont be growing it back anytime soon lol

I went from green (very similar shade to yours) back to black hair for a job and I was so sad because I loved my green hair so much...until I saw pictures of myself side by side in real life. Yeah. Not so great at all. My hair looked amazing on instagram but in real life I always looked like my hair was only half done. It also felt like the ONLY thing people ever commented on about me was my hair colour. So glad I've gone back to black hair and my natural curls: the curls give me a bit of pizzazz but I'm happy to blend in a bit more too (as much as a six foot tall heavily tattooed girl can blend in!). I totally understand where you're coming from, and for what it's worth, you look amazing with black hair. X

I like changing up my hair, having something new is fun and I get bored of the same color. I have been watching your channel for awhile and you look amazing with every hair color I've seen you have! I have dyed my hair bright fun colors, and I love the way it makes me feel, but I also don't like getting attention and comments from strangers about it, also it is extra effort aha. I am always going back and forth from natural and colored, and at first I hated my natural hair color, and felt ugly, I didn't feel like myself because I was so used to having it colored, but now I feel beautiful with any color, and I just change it for fun but I realize my hair doesn't define me, I don't let it affect my self esteem as much as it used to

I understand. My bleach is uneven and a lot of brown is in between, so some green is kaki in mine and the violet I put in recently to blend in with the green looks bluer than purple in photos and on camera. I'm not done with green yet, but I understand the sentiment. But either way, whatever hair colour you have, you look great! As for going out, I have social anxiety and I rarely go out, progress is slow, I learnt to be patient with myself. You need to do what makes you feel good. For me, green hair helps me take care of myself because I do it myself. It helps me feel good about myself, during my depression it gave me a small goal to help me through. It's different for everyone. Your happiness and mental health comes first. We change and our needs change as well. As long as we respect our own needs, the rest will follow. I think this is the first video I see, on your channel. I found it very inspiring to hear about your artwork ;)

I totally get it - there was a time when I had bright red hair and then it suddenly became more struggle than fun, so I dyed it back to my natural colour. And I ended up being more confident with my natural colour than ever before (like I used t think it was ugly). So the bottom line is if it did not make you happy anymore, there was no reason to keep your hair green. You are so pretty and funny and inspiring and I love your videos.

Aah, gosh, I feel you SO SO MUCH. My hair is my safety blanket. It's a chocolaty, redish color and I get compliments on it all the time. It's the one thing that I can control about how I look that ALWAYS makes me feel better (that and make-up) and I love my hair - so coloring or cutting it is a big deal for me because a LOT of my mental health depends on it tbh. So I totally get why you dyed it back. It makes you feel better this way and that is awesome. And honestly, you are gorgeous either way :D And now you look so much like Xena again, makes me all nostalgic :D :D :D

Hey Kiera, I don't know if you'd be interested in this but there's a brand called Salcura. They're from the UK, pretty much all natural, cruelty free and I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of their stuff is vegan. They do products for very dry, normal and very oily skin. I don't know about their oily skin stuff but my dry patches went away after 1-2 days using their dry skin stuff (and they were persistent). Their normal moisturiser is MY FAVOURITE day moisturiser- it doesn't feel like anything is there after a few minutes! I also love their cleanser for my morning cleanse. Honestly, you neeeeed to check them out! Also, would highly recommend pixi, especially their glow tonic (it turned my skin from almost eczema to pretty much normal. But it works for all skin types- I've seen oily skinned people rave about it too) and their overnight moisturising mask.

This video is impeccable timing for me. I had dyed my hair Blue after years of being natural coloured and it's been a weird ride. I used to dye my hair all the time back in high school (I've had every colour of the rainbow except yellow, orange and purple) and after a bad breakup I decided maybe thats the way I should go. But I've realised I've grown out of that point in my life and I can't wait to go back to a natural colour. I know how you feel when it comes to letting the colour sit. I've been pretty depressed as of late and if it weren't for a possible job I would let it just get green and muddy.

Beautiful with any hair colour. You could have no hair and totally rock it. There are so many things that you said that I agree with and totally understand. I got so used to living life without a fringe and now I'm like, oh gosh the upkeep of it.. I wish there an undo button a little bit but I feel more like myself with a fringe so it's like a catch 22 - Ugh, brains eh?! I also started growing out my hair to start prepping it to go back to my natural hair colour for the better part of a year, then as you know, bam, I went back to colourful hair. I feel like having that break did me the world of good though and it got me used to it again. I sorta miss not having to bother with the upkeep though and I get that voice from time to time saying, when are we going to see our natural hair colour all over again Jess?? haha love you

I love your natural color, but I also really liked the green! It all looks great! I'm going to dye my hair bright red/orange (in the fire-y gradient) next week. It'll be my first time doing something that dramatic so I hope it turns out well! I like the way it looks when it's black/dark brown, BUT I've just wanted to try a bright color for so long and now I have a job that's cool with it and a hair dresser that I trust, so I'm going to go for it. I know it takes a lot of upkeep and I'm not looking forward to that. I will probably go back to dark in a few weeks/months. I'm impressed you kept yours green as long as you did! OMG Kiera, I'm not sure if you know this but the man popping up saying 'wowww' is Eddy Wally - a Belgian showbizz man (who died not too long ago sadly). I had a similar experience with my silver / grey hair. Had it from september up until this month. The upkeep was just getting too much so I dyed it an ashy blonde 2 weeks ago. So happy I did it. Can't wait for my dark ashy roots to grow out so it'll look even more natural. Anyway, you look gorgeous, no matter what hair colour!

I’m so glad you mentioned the attention aspect. At the start, people my age who I didn’t know would come up to me and compliment me, so the disapproving stares didn’t get to me cause the compliments outweighed them. Now that I’m off college for the summer, I’m around lots of old people and basically no one my age. People are more accepting of coloured hair, piercings and tattoos these days, but you’d be stupid to think that everybody is going to fully accept you, especially old people. I hate being stared at. I love the green, but I also love blending in and I can’t have both at once.

I've had silver hair for about 3 years. I started growing it out about half a year ago. I got highlight first so that there were no harsh lines where roots ended abd the silver began, this made growing it out a LOT easier. The reason why I'm growing it out is that my treated hair was really dry and I want to have long, healthy hair again. I also started to like my natural haircolour again, especially now that it's down to my eyebrows, makes them look softer for some reason. I still LOVE the silver and I wish I could keep it, but I know it's better for my hair to let it be for now... that was my (not so) tragic hair story

Watching this, before I redye and wash my green hair. I love it so much, but the upkeep is draining. I went from washing twice a week to once a week, maybe longer, and I have to dye it every time I wash it or it fades to a light green/yellow.

I used to always dye my hair loads of different colours, but it felt like a constant war with my natural hair. My natural hair would always win and grow through of course, so in the end I decided to just choose health over having a cool coloured hair, and just grew out my natural hair. So much less hassle and so much healthier to just let your hair do what it's gunna do! I also see my natural hair colour as special now - no one else has exactly the same hair colour as I do, whereas with box dye, anyone else using that dye will have the same colour.

This actually makes me feel a bit better about myself. I have been having black hair with some green parts on the sides for over a year now and it kinda became something people recognized me for but I have exactly the same problem that you do. It never looks the way i want it to and i feel uncomfortable all the time. Especially because a lot of people look at me weird and i dont want to stick out that much anymore, it isnt even crazy-bright but it doesnt make me feel good anymore. I also have to dye the green parts atleast once a week which is so annoying and gets expensive. Im going to dye it all black on the weekend and im excited! You look amazing!! ♥

Thank you for talking about your hair slightly changing your mental health! I have very bad anxiety, I'm naturally blonde and dye my hair very dark brown. Whenever my hair gets lighter, all I want to do is hide and I feel sooo bad about how I look! Hearing someone else say it makes me feel less crazy. 😘

The purple reddish colour really looked so good, every colour seems to look amazing on you though :)

I like your hair both ways but your hair should never be stressful. Whatever you do is your choice and you do not need to justify it!!!!!! Your videos are great 💕
