my sentiments exactly. i hate the stress of it all, especially the absolute blatant corporate greed. the christmas music, the decorations they put up earlier every year, its not because they care about any of us having a good xmas, its because they want you to open your wallet in THEIR store, even if you have to put yourself in debt until next october, there's a name you call people who call it out for what it is and even a line of gifts for them, like grinch t-shirts. i've decided after 2022 i'm refusing to take part anymore. my family can emotionally blackmail me all they like, but people are gonna get an extra £10 on their birthdays throughout the year. fuck christmas

This video is so accurate. My dislike for Christmas started in my early 20s but now that I'm in my late 20s, the dislike is stronger than ever. Christmas to me is basically getting together with family/maybe friends (which I enjoy doing very much) opening presents too early in the morning, sitting around for 6 hours just talking, then having Thanksgiving dinner 2.0 (another holiday I dislike). It's just another day for me at this point. I can't stand the music, how much the holiday is shoved down my throat, and overall how cheery it is.

I have had issues with Christmas for a long time: after my Dad got divorced, he got a new girlfriend and used to ditch me every year on Christmas Eve. He'd tell me he was on his way over to my grandparents' house to see us, I'd wait for him for hours only to have him cancel at the last minute because he was too tired to drive over to see me. After a while I caught on and just expected him to not even be there. Then we had a huge fight one year just before the holidays, and long story short, he picked the girlfriend's side over mine and disowned me. Over the years, I tried to enjoy the holiday and give my family nice gifts, only to have them returned back to me because they found petty, ridiculous reasons not to accept them. This past Christmas, my cousin returned a jewelry craft kit simply because she "didn't like it". Some call it honesty, which I guess in a way it is. But I call it just plain rude. They also thought it was okay to take my Christmas decorations that I had on display. Just a horrible thing to do, especially to another family member. If it were in a box in storage, I wouldn't have cared. All this family drama over Christmas and I'm not even a believer (anymore). The lights and decorations might be pretty, but for me that's where the charm of Christmas ends. I"m done with the whole thing and next year, I'm going away on vacation instead.

agree with disliking Christmas. I actually have to work most Christmas's because of the job I have. Also it is in a hospital, and we have a lot more psych cases then, also they make us work down. . It is forced happiness. It is supposed to be the most wonderful time in the world, according to that song. Even when I had a regular job, I always looked forward to January when it was all over. I will be off in early January.

Yeah if your mail and you and you're single you going to have to work every christmas if you work in a hospital. Why because your boss is a female and she's going to let her female buddies off that day and you just going to be have to work it or find a new job.. there's no fairness at all you're going to get screwed.

@@robertbolding4182 well in my hospital that is not the case. Also the worst supervisor I had was a male boss. Most of the women were okey to me. My place is actually based on senority, and I was able to get the 30th and 31st off. Also due to something that I accomplished, and requesting it right away, I got Christmas day off. In 2021 I had Christmas and New Years eve off due to scheduling of people working.
