Kierra Bivens I worked at that Sephora for a year and a half and let me tell you it was one of the worst jobs I’ve ever had. The management was the worst. I only stayed for the gratis. Amanda used to come in to shop every so often before any of us knew who she was.

Omg I work at Sephora now and I got hired as a cashier but now I work at color. We get so much gratis every month and sometimes even twice a month. And we get extra prizes if we do good that day. Sephora really is a great place to work at. I’m so sorry you had to go through all that. If anything like that happened at my job it would have been taken really seriously. Not fair 😞

Amanda Ensing I was offered a part time seasonal job at Sephora and I was SO turned off by the way I was treated I just couldn’t do it. It made me feel SOO sad because I had the DREAM to work at Sephora. I turned it down and I regretted it because I was having a hard time getting a job. Now I work for a different company but I’m working in Cosmetics I’m not 100% happy there but because of your video I decided I am going to sign up for I signed cosmetology school tomorrow (I have been considering it) and I have so many goals that I KNOW I can accomplish..I was having such a hard time the last few days.. I left my abusive husband /my beautiful home /my dog (wahhhhhh that’s the WORST part) so I was really second guessing everything. My entire life was him as sad as that sounds. I was actually considering going back to him but after watching your video just now it made me think it’s not only me this (low points) unfortunately happens to everyone if I do I know I’ll never get to where I NEED and WANT to be. This story brought a massive smile to my face. It's always amazing to hear when the tables turn and you're in a better place in front of those who doubted you. This isn't just a story about Sephora, but about every job which wasn't meant for us and everything else that comes across our path, as you said. I was also put on a pedestal at my old job but was naive and soon enough wasn't valued. I'm now working at a job I love with people I respect (and respect me) and working towards a bigger dream. That's something that someone who has more work experience would think to do. She was naive and probably didnt even know she could do that. I used to be the same way with my first couple of jobs. I thought that management in the store was the end-all-be-all and there's no way to retaliate against them without getting fired. Now that I've been working for 8+ years, I have a little more knowledge about how to go about mistreatment and discrimination.

Also take into consideration that you were a part time, seasonal cashier. Usually gratis goes to full time color or skincare artists first then to part time color and skincare then to cashiers because they sell the least :) the color and skincare cast members are who really do the selling so it makes sense that they would be first priority. ♥️

While I was at my first job, I was a full time student as well working 40 hours a week and I experienced the SAME thing. They hired me as part time and then had the nerve to tell me I was seasonal after the fact and that I had to be laid off because of my school schedule. 😒

Wow! Thank you for existing! I just love you so much 💖💖💖 it happened the same to me, I was a teacher in elementary school and I had a couple of parents that hated me for no reason and literally made my life such a living hell, I've decided to quit my job eventually. I would cry every single day after work. But now I'm so thankful to those parents, because thanks to them I left a job I didn't even like and realized that I want to do makeup for living and I'm feeling so much happier! Your gratis experience is crazy. I worked for a Sephora inside a JC Penny and we got gratis like once a month and it was always when our education coach came in and we had education days. Sometimes we would all get different stuff but I had oily skin. I don’t want that certain primer anyways. Or id get a nude lipstick that wouldn’t work on me so me and a girl would trade and I got a bomb orange red lipgloss instead. Gratis is a given. You don’t “work for it” in your situation. We’re the management team just keeping it to themselves? Because our management also got gratis maybe other stuff so they can later educate us on it too but daaaaaaannnnnggggg.
