I am a shia and I appreciate what you said. I think as long as you are far from the Salafi sect you're safe. I am from Saudi and I have so many sunni and Christians friends and some buhdusit friends and even a atheist friend. This is because I live in a big university in saudi that I grew up in from when I was 5 years old and which is so diverse and so calm.

Ryan Christison, forgive me if I have not remembered your name accurately but thanks for your testimony about your spiritual journey. I empathised with a lot of what you said & the nature of the Islam which you were forced to eventually reject. The Islam that comes on these comments and mocks your journey as going from kufar to kufar is the kind of Islam that makes me proud to be a kufar and wish to remain a kufar. I am an ubeliever who prefers knowledge to belief and I know that the more I listen to the likes of Mohammad Hijab talking about Shia the more I love those who follow the Caliph Ali and the family of Muhammad. I admit to following the writers of Sufi teachings like Rumi & especially Omar Khayyam but I insist that I am just an unbeliever when it comes to Literalist religion or what the Sufis call "conventionalised Religion" or "Shariat Religion". I accept you as a brother in humanity & imagine that the more you hear hatred against Shia the more Shia you become. Thanks for sharing your story. I’m Shia but I’ve certainly been on a journey to find the truth. Shi’ism gives a completion of life and existence. I believe in all Abrahamic religions and prophets. Islam completes the message of Allah. The Prophet pbuh is the last messenger and he gave the leadership to Imam Ali. That’s in my heart and soul. The Prophet left behind two things, the Quran and his immaculate Ahlulbayt. I hope you get a chance to visit Mecca, Medina, Najaf and Kerbala. Salams on you. You are just and fair in your approach.

(Written by Abbas Ali Hisper Nagar Gilgit) What is the difference between Imam and Caliph in Qur'anic terms ??? Who is the Imam in the eyes of the people ??? People generally think that Imam is the leader of Muslims who guides, teaches and trains people. Tells the words of religion and frightens them from the Hereafter ... Most people have a crude idea that the imam of the mosque, jurisprudence and then the hadith, but according to the Qur'an is not. Every religion has one or another leader and the followers of this religion look upon him with respect. For example, Christians have a pastor and the pastor is known by many names, such as Bishop or Vicar. Similarly, there are Pandits in Hindu religion who are also known by other names. For example Yogi, Swami, Guru, and Eugene etc. Muslims have imams who are also called caliphs. Imam from Quran !!! The word Imam has been mentioned only twice in the Quran, once in verse 124 of Surah Al-Baqarah (2) and in verse number 41 of Surah Al-Qasas (28). When their Lord tried Ibrahim (Abraham) with many things and he fulfilled them all, Allah said: I will make you the leader of the people. Surah Al baqra 2 :124. سورۃ البقرہ آیت 124 It should be noted that when Allah made Hazrat Ibrahim (as) the Imam, he prayed that Allah also make my children (Imam). The full mention of which is given in chapter 17 verse 20 of the book of Genesis of the Old Testament. New International Version And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. Remember, this prayer not only mentions twelve Imams but also promises to be their great nation. Now the question is who is that twelve Imam or Sardar ??? When we even study the hadiths of the Ahl as-Sunnah, we find that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also gave them glad tidings, for example, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that there should be twelve caliphs after him. Will We read in Mushkoot al-Masabih: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say that Islam will not live in glory until the twelve caliphs, each of whom is from the Quraysh. (And there is a tradition) “The affairs of the people will not deteriorate as long as they are ruled by twelve men, each of whom will come from Quraysh. And there is a tradition: The religion will remain until the Day of Resurrection because they will have twelve caliphs, each of whom is from Quraysh. مشکوٰۃ المصابیح جلد 4 ص 576 ، حدیث 5۔ From these narrations we know that the number of rulers of this ummah after the Prophet (peace be upon him) is only twelve. Now the question arises that he said about the caliphs, where did the mention of your Imam come from ?? In the eyes of the Muslim caliph, he is the one who rules over the Muslims. There is no such thing in the Qur'anic terminology. Quran In the Quran, the word Khalifa is used for the Holy Prophets. And remember that not every prophet became a ruler ... And the next thing is that Hazrat Adam (PBUH) has also been called Caliph. Now any Muslim can tell us how many years Hazrat Adam (PBUH) has ruled ??? Surah Al-Baqarah verse 30 Now it has become clear that Imam and Khalifa have the same meaning and these two words have been used by the Prophets. And remember that not every prophet is a ruler .... And also remember that Shiites are the only sect that believes in twelve Imams or Caliphs. If there is still any objection, then tell me any other sect which believes in Twelve Sardars !!! And also remember that the right of government belonged to the twelve Imams only. If he is deprived of his rights, it does not mean that he is not a caliph or an imam. Finally, may Allah show us the straight path !!! O Allah, we worship You alone and seek help from You alone. Amen.

Did you know that Iran was majority Sunni untill 1600 and was forced to convert shia or killed? It happened between 1600-1800 read history. The Safavid conversion of Iran to Shia Islam was a process of forced conversion that took place roughly over the 16th through 18th centuries and turned Iran (Persia), which previously had a Sunni majority population, into the spiritual bastion of Shia Islam.

Two questions from the Sunnis... First, it is mentioned in Sehah Setheh(صحاح سته) (one of the most reliable books of hadiths of the Sunnis) and our books about the return of the Promised Mahdi, and it is a valid hadith. Introduce someone as the imam of the time so that we all don't have to wait so long and the problems will be solved... why don't you do this if you believe that the imam must be appointed by God and it is not our job, then why did you forget the incident of (غدیر) Ghadir after the death of the prophet and You yourself chose the successor and caliph by the Thaqifa(ثقیفه) Council...so do the same thing now...the last Imam of the era has signs such as mastery over jinn and human beings and being knowledgeable about all sciences and connecting to the unseen source, so you can't do this. Find someone and introduce them, and it was also wrong in the case of Shovara Thaqifa that you put down the words of the Prophet and said that God's book is enough for us (حسبنا کتب الله)and you did not allow the Prophet to make a will in the last moments of his life. He said, let me bequeath you so that you will never go astray after me(إِنِّی تَارِکٌ فِیکُمُ الثَّقَلَیْنِ کِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَ عِتْرَتِی أَهْلَ بَیْتِی ما إِنْ تَمَسَّکْتُمْ بهما لَنْ تَضلُّوا أبَداً و إنّهما لَنْ یَفْتَرِقا حَتى یَرِدا عَلَیَّ الحَوْضَ) Indeed, I am leaving two precious things among you, the Book of God and my Ahl al-Bayt, as long as you cling to these two precious things, you will not go astray. These two will not be separated from each other until they return to me on the Day of Resurrection by the side of the Kausar pool, and Umar said at that moment that the prophet of delirium says,(ان الرجل لیهجر) In the case that the Prophet (PBUH) His words are not from himself, but from the side of God And the second is the unanswered question of Allamah Amini from Ahl al-Sunnat. It is stated in hadiths and authentic books that anyone who dies and does not know the Imam of his time dies the death of ignorance. (Musnad of Hanbal, Musnad of Ahmad, vol. 28, p. 88) So where was the Imam of the time of Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of God, at the time of her death? If we say that he did not know that Na'udz is God, then we should say that Fatimah died an ignorant death, and if we say that it was Abu Bakr, that Fatimah was very upset and angry with him at the end of her life, and it was this sadness that caused her to die (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3, p. 112, Hadad 2926). ) So the Imam of her time was not Abu Bakr...our path diverges from yours here and it doesn't matter whether the number of the Shia population is more or Sunni... After all, if the Prophet and in the incident of Ghadir, the word Wilayat means friendship (did the Prophet, in that hot weather and during his last Hajj, when he wanted to say the most important commandments to the people, kept all the people in the desert around the wells of Ghadir and told them who stayed behind and moved on, said to come back and say something important and say that whoever I am his friend from now on Ali is his friend? Can you force someone to love another person, for example, that person is someone who He killed your father, can you still really love him? Is it not good, or is it true that the word Mullah means obedience and guardianship? And there is a more important message that God said in the Qur'an, O Prophet, O Prophet, convey what is to It has been revealed to you that if you don't do this, your prophethood is not complete and God will protect you from the evil of people... Surah Ma'idah verse 67) that if we consider the words "Wali" and "Vilayat" in the meaning of friendship, then again How well did they fulfill the right of friendship with the children of the Prophet!!! They either killed or poisoned them, and what they did to the Prophet's family in the Karbala incident... When you want to go on a long journey, you leave a guardian and a substitute for your home, as the famous saying goes, be the man of the house.
